PENDAHULUAN

Parallel Structure is the composition of English sentences in which words Liaison -

Conjunction - Serves Connecting Words or Phrase Same - kind of - in the first sentence
Parallel Structure What is it? Parallel structure is a form of functioning of the conjunction
(conjunctive) to connect the word with other words or phrases (phrase) with another phrase -
similar - within 1 (one) of sentence structure intact.

The equation is what is referred to in a parallel structure?

Equation word / phrase in question does not mean the other one said exactly the same. The
equation must be identical in terms of shape and arrangement, namely:

Same position / position of the word

So, when it was said to be linked based on the subject, the parallel structure should also be
applicable in the subject position.

Same shape and type.

Example:

noun with a noun or noun with phrases; can also verbs with verbs. (When the verb is used in
the form of verb-ing it in other words it should be a verb-ing, when the to-infinitive then the
other must be a to-infinitive as well, and so on.

The types of words that can be associated (besides phrase) is:

Nouns (Noun)

Adjectives (Adjective)

Verb (Verb)
Pronouns (Noun)

Adverbs (Adverb)

Furthermore, parallel structure is grammatical aspects that are shorten or how to avoid
writing / pronunciation of the word / phrase kind of repetitive.
PEMBAHASAN

To understand the parallel structure, we must understand and master determiner English
(English determiner). By using determiner as an analytical tool words, phrases and sentences
- we'll know - word / phrase which one - which must be parallel-kan.

Example:

I have a book. I have a pen.

Of the two examples above sentence; / I have a book / and / I have a pen / we see that there
are two similar words, namely:

/ A book / and / a pen /

Each both are nouns (noun), the same verb (verb) and the same subject (subjective pronoun)
was so, it stands to "shorten" the two sentences into one complete sentence that gives
information (read: meaning ) are the same and clear, as follows:

I have a book and a pen.

In the example this merger we use conjunctions (conjunction) in the form: / and / therefore
conjunctive / and / serves to connect two words, phrases or sentences or more of the same
context (situation & condition) and identical. The form of the merger of the two sentences
into one sentence and does not change the meaning (read: mean) that is referred to as Parallel
Structure.
Through the examples of English sentences that contain elements / and / above, we also can
use other connecting words, such as;

and, or, but.

More Details About Parallel Structure

Parallel structure above is a simple form or a simple parallel structure. There are lots of
discussion about this parallel structure, including a discussion of the correlative conjunction
dipertemuan which we will discuss next.

Consider the following example sentences for deepening the material on this structure
parallel ~!

Example:

Miss Dillah and I are falling in love.

(Conjunction / and / reconnects noun / miss Dillah / and subjective pronoun / I /)

I buy two apples and a mango.

(Conjunction / and / reconnects noun phrases / two apples / and / a mango /)

He likes reading and writing.

(Conjunction / and / reconnects the noun in the form of gerund / reading / and / writing /)
She wants to sing and to dance. (Conjunction / and / reconnects to the infinitive verb / to
sing / and / to dance /)

Note:

Therefore verb / sing / preceded by the preposition / to / as a characteristic of the verb to the
infinitive, then after the conjunction / and /, we must use the same verb is to infinitive / to
dance /.

Examples of using another conjunction, for example: / but / and / or /:

He is lazy but smart.

(He slacker but clever).

Information:

Conjunction / but / connect adjectives (adjective) with other adjectives in the form: / lazy /
and / smart /. Remember that, conjunction / but / is used to separate the one word that implies
a negative with a positive meaning, or vice versa.

Which one do you like best, playing badminton or golf?

Information:

This sentence in the case of connecting favorite game / playing / namely: / badminton / or /
golf / in the form choice questions (which). The second word / Badminton / and / golf /
equally nouns (noun).
2 or more keywords in the Parallel Structure

In addition to the description above, we are also able to connect more than two words in
parallel.

Example:

He loves reading, writing and speaking.

A third example above combines form: / reading /, / writing / and / speaking / manifold
gerund in one sentence positioned Object (ie, after the verb / loves /). The whole sentence is
derived from three words that are identical / same in the formation of a parallel structure
above criteria namely:

He loves reading.

He loves writing.

He loves speaking.

Can also add the object of such activity, such as activity object in the form of "English":

He loves reading, writing and speaking English.

The sentence above is derived from three identical sentences following:

He loves reading English.

He loves writing English.

He loves speaking English.

Note:

If there are three different languages, then it must include the name of the Foreign Languages.

For example:

He loves reading English, Arabic writing and speaking German.

Conclusion:

From the whole explanation above, the point, the existing equation in the parallel structure
should be similar / identical in structure, type and position in the sentence
