In this article, it explained that anxiety and fear are very closely related essentially there one. They
did studies on a group age of 8-13 years of age that had higher and lower traits of anxiety. After
gathering a group of 60 children from low-income urban areas. They found that children under 10
years of age have the highest chances of developing many fears is they grow. More chances of
anxiety.

Assessment: Evaluate how the source responds to your research question. What does this source
offer that other sources do not offer? Is the information reliable? How do you know? Is the source
biased or objective? What is the goal of this source?

This answers my research question of how is fear developed by showing that children with lower
income backgrounds tend to become more fearful and build up anxiety. This source offers some
research that shows the study of the kids. The data is not being pulled out of nowhere , it has a
credible origin. The reason I am willing to trust this information is because if the government had
posted this. Making it credible. The document had no biased because it's only objective was to find
the reason on development of fear.

Reflection: How does this source fit into your research? Was it helpful? If so, how? How does it help
to shape your understanding of the controversy you are researching? How can you use this source
in your project?

It fits my research because I am looking forward to find the reason why fear is developed and it did
help me answer that, so yes it was helpful. It helps me have an understanding that fear does not only
have to do with who you are is a person but with the surroundings around you.

“This paper reviews over a century's research into the developmental patterns of normal fear.” Fear

1
Adapted from Purdue OWL
is known for being a fight or flight response. It is used for when there is danger present, you can
evaluate the situation and respond to it accordingly. It has been noted that is people age, fear
becomes less of a problem. Fear has multiple factors that you can take into consideration like
gener, socio-economic status , and culture. Fear can develop in many different way starting at
home but can also be from the outside.

Assessment: Evaluate how the source responds to your research question. What does this source
offer that other sources do not offer? Is the information reliable? How do you know? Is the source
biased or objective? What is the goal of this source?

It talks about how fear is a normal human feature used when danger is present. It explains and gives
me a better insight on why fear is developed. It allows us to figure out a situation by noticing the
dangers, if we should fight or flight. The reason why I believe this source is credible is because a lot
of other articles tend to be saying the same thing. The more people with similar results are doing
something right. There is no bias in this article because it is not trying to state something rather
giving an explanation on something.

Reflection: How does this source fit into your research? Was it helpful? If so, how? How does it help
to shape your understanding of the controversy you are researching? How can you use this source
in your project?

It fits my research because it supports my other articles , making my argument stronger. It was
helpful because it showed me that there are multiple similar conclusion of how or why fear is needed
for the human body. The way I will be using this is by explaining how in multiple instances I came to
the same conclusion.

Summary: Describe the key points of the source, including at least three key quotes.

The result of fear can be seen from past experiences or traumas. Fear can also be common because
it causes physical symptoms, life being afraid of heights because you end up feeling a certain way.
Many scientist have their own theories on why people have different reaction to different things.
While dealing with fear there are both emotional and physical ways you can show fear.

Assessment: Evaluate how the source responds to your research question. What does this source
offer that other sources do not offer? Is the information reliable? How do you know? Is the source
biased or objective? What is the goal of this source?

This source respond to my question by answering the why part. Fear is there to tell you something is
not right. The physical aspect helps a lot because if something if off , your body can essentially sense
danger and help you out of the situation. This source has provided me with different aspect of fear
and how they develop. Giving me emotional and physical reasoning to make my argument stronger.
No biased in this source, the gal is just to show why the fear we have exits can can potentially save
us.

Reflection: How does this source fit into your research? Was it helpful? If so, how? How does it help
to shape your understanding of the controversy you are researching? How can you use this source
in your project?

This fits my research because it bring up the fight or flight instinct. Other articles I have included also
mention this. Another thing that I found interesting that this article had was including physical
symptoms, explaining that the reason people can have from heights are because they get dizzy and
feel funny in their stomach. The source helps me understand better on why people develop fear.
This can be used to explain the physical parts about fear.

Summary: Describe the key points of the source, including at least three key quotes.

Fear can be learned through personal experiences at about any age. The youth are more vulnerable
to this however. The same way people are able to gain fears, they can get rid of them through
extinction and through emotional reappraisal. In this article animals were being used in
order to figure out how fear can affect us mentally. It took a different approach because
instead of just saying that fear is with us , they said that there are ways to conquer it
basically .Found that very interesting,
Assessment: Evaluate how the source responds to your research question. What does this source
offer that other sources do not offer? Is the information reliable? How do you know? Is the source
biased or objective? What is the goal of this source?

This source offered me something big that no other one word. The way to remove fear, that was very
interesting because the other articles would mention how important fer is but here we have an article
explaining to us that we can get rid of the fear. Facing your fears is what people say to do but in fact
this is more of a psychological thing. This article also helps us answer the how part. Personal
experience seems to be the most common answer I have found.

Reflection: How does this source fit into your research? Was it helpful? If so, how? How does it help
to shape your understanding of the controversy you are researching? How can you use this source
in your project?

This was very helpful because it added a whole new element on my prompt. It added the concern on
how exactly can we just get rid of our fear. I can use this source at the end of my project by
explaining the possible ways you can eliminate the fear you never knew why you had it.

Summary: Describe the key points of the source, including at least three key quotes.

During the first 2 years of a person's life, the amount of fears they get are large. Very silly is well.
People have kept track of the fears they babies have. The study from the university of pennsylvania
shows that after a couple of months or days the infants tend to get more and more fears added to
the list. Noises was one of the top fears that babies had, which could be understandable. Stuffed
animals were another big fear. Why would they be afraid of something they have complete control
of? Then again they are infants.

Assessment: Evaluate how the source responds to your research question. What does this source
offer that other sources do not offer? Is the information reliable? How do you know? Is the source
biased or objective? What is the goal of this source?

This gives me an insight on the infant's fear development. The fears they were getting were odd, but
some were understandable. This source offered a specific age group that was being studied on. This
was something different that no other document could prove me with. This information is reliable
because it was provided by the University of Pennsylvania. I know this is credible because it was
provided by a school, meaning they would post legit thins.

Reflection: How does this source fit into your research? Was it helpful? If so, how? How does it help
to shape your understanding of the controversy you are researching? How can you use this source
in your project?

It does fit into my research because I did not set it to a certain age because I wanted to see the
development in general. I am glad that I found this source because, fear starts from the youth and
from there it can get worse or better. I can use this by explaining how it starts from the youth
because of this study I can see the common fears that infants get, the list is quite large but odd.

Summary: Describe the key points of the source, including at least three key quotes.

Fear is a normal human respond to a situation , but when excessive fear is noticed then that means something has
manipulated that feeling to become something traumatic and that is not natural. Having too much fear can be an
unhealthy thing because it can interfere with your daily life. Excessive fear is directly connected to anxiety.”For fear to
escalate to irrational levels, a combination of genetic and environmental factors is very likely at play. Estimates of
genetic contributions to specific phobia range from roughly 25 to 65 percent.” Phobias can be most likely developed
after having gone through a traumatic experiences.

Assessment: Evaluate how the source responds to your research question. What does this source
offer that other sources do not offer? Is the information reliable? How do you know? Is the source
biased or objective? What is the goal of this source?

It helps me understand fear by showing me that fear is a normal human feeling but when fear is
exercise then that mean it was manipulated by some personal trauma. This source explained to me
that with fear being high it can mess with your daily life, sometimes you will have struggle with
everyday tasks. This also showed me that most fears about 25-65% come from genetics.

Reflection: How does this source fit into your research? Was it helpful? If so, how? How does it help
to shape your understanding of the controversy you are researching? How can you use this source
in your project?

It helped me understand that fear can come from home, it supports the argument that fear come
from traumatic moments that happened in people's lives. This does not show controversy because it
just backs us my argument even more. I can use this source in my projects by explaining that fear
comes into play at home first, showing that fear is more mental but it is also a normal human feature.

Summary: Describe the key points of the source, including at least three key quotes.

Friends can develop fears from other friends. That was an interesting idea because, they already say
that the people that are around you influence you and shape who you are but now they are saying
that fears are also being developed by the people around.”most people significantly fear ghosts
and other supernatural beings in early childhood, animals in middle childhood, and self-injury
and social evaluation in late childhood and adolescence “

Assessment: Evaluate how the source responds to your research question. What does this source
offer that other sources do not offer? Is the information reliable? How do you know? Is the source
biased or objective? What is the goal of this source?

It explains to me on how the fear is developed in people. This site was very helpful because it gave
me a generalization that each specific age group had a fear of. No other site provided that for me.
This information seems to be reliable considering the fact that all the sources are cited in the
research. The goal of this source was to show that fear is going to be in everyone and it can be
influenced easily, friends were able to influence each other and shape their fears.

Reflection: How does this source fit into your research? Was it helpful? If so, how? How does it help
to shape your understanding of the controversy you are researching? How can you use this source
in your project?

It fits into my research because it shows how fear is developed. This also gives me an insight on
what the general group was fearful of. It helps me understand that people can get their fears from
multiple places, That even the people around you affect you mentally. I can use this project by
showing that the people around you change or influence your fears. Generally, people in certain age
groups have similar traits in fear.
