CHAPTER 4

PRESENTATION, ANALYSIS, AND INTERPRETATION OF DATA


This chapter presents, analyze and interprets the data gathered from the factors affecting the
performance in mathematics of First Year BSED major in Mathematics Students.

The interest of the students in Mathematics

Table 1 show how the students gives an interest to Mathematics. Student’s level of interest in
Mathematics was rated based on the students’ self-perceived level of preparation for the Mathematics
subject, attention given to teacher’s lecture, active participation in class, their desire to get good grades
and their desire to listen to the discussion in class.

THE STUDY HABIT OF THE STUDENTS

Table 2 shows the list of five (5) items about situation/action statements used in the data gathering of the
respondents.

This table presents the significant relationship of the factors affecting mathematics performance of the
First Year BSED major in Mathematics Students. As seen on the table, the person are of the (2) factors such as,
interest, and study habits.
