1.0 INTRODUCTION

1.1 Purpose
This document will provide guidelines intended to assist the CONTRACTOR for the
project requirements and survey objectives.

This scope of work is aimed to collect data which shall be used to provide baseline
information describing the comprehensive map underneath the ground surface.

1.3 Brief Description of the Project

The purpose of the proposed facilities is to maintain the Company’s specialized repair
services. The proposed facilities will support Company’s crude oil and gas production
by upgrading the existing Shops to meet ongoing operations demand.

The main objective of this budget item is to construct, furnish and equip a new shops
building and a new office building adjacent to existing COMPANY shops to enhance
capabilities of specialized repairs services and capitalize on existing repair services
and utilities. The site development shall consider locating and designing the new
facilities to allow integration and synergy with the existing operational facility.

2.0 OBJECTIVES

To expose and identify all existing underground (UG) utility lines, cables and trenches that
shall be an obstruction to the proposed facilities.

3.0 REFERENCES

Work shall be carried out in accordance with the Project approved documents, procedures
and plans, together with Company Standards and Specifications. Also, reference Industry
Codes and Standards shall be used whenever applicable:

4.0 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS AND CONDITIONS

4.1 CONTRACTOR shall furnish all labor, equipments, tools, supervision, supplies and
transportation required to perform the Exploratory Excavation survey.
4.2 CONTRACTOR shall provide the necessary and adequate crew in the field who shall carry out
the Exploratory Excavation survey activities. A survey report shall be prepared, particular to
any potential issues that may obstructs the design and construction, to be discussed with
CLIENT for information and resolution.
4.3 CONTRACTOR shall closely coordinate the works to his DESIGN SUBCONTRACTOR and
CLIENT.

5.0 SCOPE OF WORK

5.1 Traffic Plan and Control


a) Entry Point to the COMPANY Facilities, where the project site was located, is accessible
only through the entrance gate located at the northern part, about 350 m away from the
Company Security Gate. This Entry Point shall be kept clear and unobstructed at all times.
b) Contractor shall follow or abide at all times with the rules and regulations implemented by
the COMPANY Facilities particular to construction works.
c) Considering the limited space, the existing roadway shall be used also as the access road to
construction site; however, the CONTRACTOR shall be limited only to the main roadway
or as per the Attachment 6.1 Proposed Traffic Plan.
d) The access road shall be installed with temporary and standard road traffic and construction
signages as shown in the Proposed Traffic Plan. Temporary Signs of “SLOW DOWN,
SPEED LIMIT, NO PASSING/OVERTAKING and MEN at WORK” shall be installed
facing the entering vehicles/equipments, while a “STOP” sign shall be installed facing to
the exiting vehicles/equipments.
e) With reference to the conducted study for the traffic assessment, the allowable speed limit
shall be controlled to 25kph only.
f) All existing utilities without bollard protection, (e.g. lighting poles, panel racks, etc.) shall
be barricaded. Also, steel pipe posts/ bollards and guard rails shall be enclosed with typical
safety net for more visual attention of the driver/operator.
g) Dust Control shall be carried out whenever necessary.
h) All dumptrucks hauling earth materials or other debris shall not be overloaded and/or
covered with typical covering nets to prevent unnecessary spillage directly on the roadway.
Otherwise, it shall be removed and cleaned immediately to prevent any safety related
hazards.
i) CONTRACTOR shall isolate the location of the proposed facilities (i.e. Workshop,
Substation & Admin Bldgs., New Material Receiving/Shipping Yard and the New Parking
Area) by installing hard barricades to isolate from the road and prevent any encroachment
of non-construction related vehicles to the work site. See Attachment 6.2 Construction Site
Isolation Plan.
j) All entry/exit to construction sites shall be provided with flagman to guide and control the
entering and exiting of every equipments and vehicles.
k) Only construction related equipment and vehicles shall be allowed to enter the COMPANY
facility. No CONTRACTOR personal service car shall be allowed to enter the facility
premises. All personal service cars shall be parked outside, i.e. in the existing parking area.
l) The CLIENT shall be informed for any changes of the Traffic Plan as the construction works
progreses.
5.2 Exploratory Excavation
CONTRACTOR shall employ exploratory trenching to the designated areas to verify elevation
and layout/routing of all existing UG utilities/cables and other obstruction which may interfere
with the construction of facilities. All excavation or trenching works shall be done with extreme
care to avoid any damage to the existing UG facilities.
5.2.1 Stake out the area according to the dimension given in the Attachment 6.3 Keyplan for
Exploratory Excavation.
5.2.2 CONTRACTOR shall manually excavate an area (trial pit) surrounding the proposed
location of the new facilities.
5.2.3 The trial pit shall be 0.50m wide with depth varies per location. See details for
exploratory excavation.
5.2.4 Accordingly, trial pits shall be carried out also within the footprint of each proposed
building. Section shall be 1.0x1.0x2.0m deep max.
5.2.5 Remove the existing asphalt pavement by saw cut to avoid improper removal of asphalt
debris and limits or control the excavation work.
5.2.6 Install shoring and bracing whenever necessary to prevent cave-ins, sloughing or
movement of the earth to safeguard against injury to persons at work or damaged to the
UG utilities. Shoring shall not be braced against UG utilities and shall be completely
removed after all the necessary information has been taken and prior to reinstatement.
5.2.7 Where required, temporary supports and protection shall be provided also to exposed
cables prior to be backfilled.
5.2.8 Exploratory survey shall be carried out by manual excavation only. Any visual presence
of oil in the trial pits shall be reported immediately to the CLIENT for information and
action.
5.2.9 Detailed sketches or drawings shall be prepared for each pits, showing the following
information but not limited to:
 Plot Plan (Northing & Easting coordinates)
 General physical observations and other existing UG site condition which could
impact the design
 Description of the excavated structure or object and the type of material used
 Elevations of the excavated utility/ies (pipes, cables, or any buried
structures/objects)
5.2.10 CONTRACTOR shall complete the exploratory excavation and survey works, together
with the final documents/ drawings/ reports and provided to the Design Subcontractor
for the preparation and development of Demolition Work Package.
5.3 Backfilling and Reinstatement
5.3.1 As soon as the necessary informations has been acquired for each trial pits,
CONTRACTOR shall notify the CLIENT for inspection and approval to carry out with
backfilling of the trial pits.
5.3.2 Backfill the excavated pits using the same excavated materials, provided there shall be
no presence of boulders or big stones.
5.3.3 Reinstatement of asphalt pavement shall be carried out in the site development.
