Is there anything else for me?

Shawn - Feb 24, 2019 9:39 AM

Please do not characterize the issues that I have raised with you as
"feelings" I reported systemic fraud due to the abuse of power.
You - Feb 24, 2019 9:40 AM
I hear you and will take it as a feedback.
Shawn - Feb 24, 2019 9:40 AM

I suggest you review your business practices in the same way that my
followers are going to be working together with the Banking Cartel that
owns Citibank and Amex
You - Feb 24, 2019 9:34 AM
Okay
Shawn - Feb 24, 2019 9:35 AM
I should inform you that extraordinary things happen to me all the time
because I report fraud and corruption in very high places. Actually the
highest places.
THAT IS BECAUSE AMERICAN EXPRESS HAS REMOVED THIS,
OR BECAUSE MY BANK HAS LIED TO ME. AND YOU ARE
UNABLE TO WAIT FOR 15 MINUTES WHILE I ATTEMPT TO
FIND OUT WHICH THIS IS?

Surely you have a concept of fraud and can see that there has been fraud
here.
Both of these entities are controlled by the same group
This is no way to deal with a customer reporting fraud.
1
So let's see if I understand what you are telling me. I
instruct my bank to pay Amex. Amex returns the
payment. Then it turns out in the time between the
time that the payment was made and when it was
returned, the money went to a third company that had
nothing to do with my payment instructions?

So how much time do I have to research the questions you are raising before this
chat session ends?
So who got the 5,000 from the date the money was deducted from my account and
why did the Bank say that Amex had refunded the payment?
Shawn, you are asking a different question. I will repeat two things. Both Amex
and my Bank are owned by the same entity. Can you see how there has been fraud?
Shawn, I am hoping that you can understand that there has been fraud here. You
refuse to acknowledge this simple fact?
Upon reviewing further, I see this payment is noted in your Costco Cash Rebate
Card.
Shawn - Feb 24, 2019 9:12 AM
What does Amex have to do with Costco's Citibank card?
This card was transferred to Citi long time back,

Feb 24, 2019 7:53 AM
Hi Karen, please tell me in a few words how I can help you.
Virtual Assistant - Feb 24, 2019 7:53 AM
I just viewed my Bank statement, and saw that American Express returned a payment of $5,000 dollars
last month. I want to know why that was.
You - Feb 24, 2019 7:54 AM
Sam has joined the conversation
HI there!
Sam - Feb 24, 2019 7:54 AM
Good Morning.
Sam - Feb 24, 2019 7:54 AM
Good morning
You - Feb 24, 2019 7:54 AM
Shall I retype my question?
You - Feb 24, 2019 7:55 AM
No, I just reviewed your inquiry
Sam - Feb 24, 2019 7:55 AM
I will check and help you with it.
Sam - Feb 24, 2019 7:55 AM
Thank you
You - Feb 24, 2019 7:55 AM
Could you please help me with the last 5 digits of the account for which the payment was returned?
Sam - Feb 24, 2019 7:56 AM
I have a screenshot of the transaction in question in a word file I will give you a screenshot if you tell me
where to email this to you.
You - Feb 24, 2019 7:56 AM
the Bank statement does not show this
You - Feb 24, 2019 7:57 AM
Oh, actually, the email could not be directly sent to me or attached with the chat or vice versa due to
security reasons.. but I am trying to check this on my end
Sam - Feb 24, 2019 7:57 AM
Could you please help me with the date when it shows return payment?
Sam - Feb 24, 2019 7:57 AM
Great
You - Feb 24, 2019 7:57 AM
2/12/19
You - Feb 24, 2019 7:58 AM
Thank you
Sam - Feb 24, 2019 7:58 AM
Please allow me a moment while I check your account.
Sam - Feb 24, 2019 7:58 AM
Karen, I do not show any return payment on your account in Feb. The only payment that was attempted in
Feb 2019 was for $452.00 on Feb 9th and it was successfully processed.

Would you be able to help me with the description as it shows in your bank statement?
Sam - Feb 24, 2019 8:01 AM
It says American Express PMT Refund $5,000 and the date. and then the resulting balance after payment
was effected. This is extraordinary
You - Feb 24, 2019 8:03 AM

3
I was confused when I saw the outstanding balance in my account, because I knew that I had sent you
payment of $5,000.
You - Feb 24, 2019 8:04 AM
Okay, thank you for the information.

May I know if you sent the payment through check?

Sam - Feb 24, 2019 8:04 AM
I used the billpayer function in my Credit Union. I have always paid American Express that way
You - Feb 24, 2019 8:05 AM
This is the first time that this has ever happened.
You - Feb 24, 2019 8:06 AM
Surely Amex should have tracked the refund
You - Feb 24, 2019 8:06 AM
I should inform you that extraordinary things happen to me all the time because I report fraud and
corruption in very high places. Actually the highest places.
You - Feb 24, 2019 8:07 AM
I completely understand your point. However, I see that your account is set up on auto pay to deduct the
minimum due from the bank account ending 7604 and the payments are being processed without any
issues. Having said that...
Sam - Feb 24, 2019 8:07 AM
The payment you are referring to never reached us, and since it was processed through your bank's bill
pay system, only they will be able to check what could have happened to the payment you sent.
Sam - Feb 24, 2019 8:08 AM
When I saw the outstanding balance I made another payment of $5,000, and this is obviously the refund
that was sent to my account.
You - Feb 24, 2019 8:08 AM
How could it never reach you if you refunded it, and my Bank statement shows this refund?
You - Feb 24, 2019 8:09 AM
I understand, you must have sent a manual payment of $5,000 apart from the minimum due that was
processed automatically. However, had it been returned by us, your account should have reflected that as
a returned payment with a confirmation number. You can also check your Payment history from the
account, it does not reflect any payment that was returned.
Sam - Feb 24, 2019 8:10 AM
It was not a manual payment. I used my billpayer functiion. You are denying the screenshots of the
refund?
You - Feb 24, 2019 8:11 AM
The fact that you deny that you returned this payment, when I have a screenshot on my bank statement of
this refund? THIS DEFIES LOGIC
You - Feb 24, 2019 8:11 AM
I didn't mean that Karen. Actually through chat you will not be able to share the screenshot.
Sam - Feb 24, 2019 8:12 AM
Also, since the payment is not received by us that's why we are not able to check any details pertaining to
this on the account.
Sam - Feb 24, 2019 8:12 AM
As you mentioned, it's showing as a returned payment on your bank's account; may I know if you have
tried speaking with your bank for further details on this?
Sam - Feb 24, 2019 8:12 AM
I want to know the best way that I can share this screenshot with American Epress.
You - Feb 24, 2019 8:13 AM

You - Feb 24, 2019 8:13 AM
Please stay with me.
Sam - Feb 24, 2019 8:13 AM
Let me try to set up an investigation
Sam - Feb 24, 2019 8:13 AM
And for that I need a few details from you. Could you please confirm if you see a debit of this payment on your bank
account(there should be one before a refund)
Sam - Feb 24, 2019 8:13 AM
yes I will. I just copied and pasted our conversation
You - Feb 24, 2019 8:13 AM
I have just timed out of my Bank interface. I cannot investigate these additional items and still chat. A screenshot of
a refund is good enough to begin an investigation.
You - Feb 24, 2019 8:15 AM
Yes, that's right. But this refund is on your bank's account, right?
Sam - Feb 24, 2019 8:16 AM
Also, I am setting up an investigation from our end and for that I need to know the date when this $5,000 was
debited from your bank, please provide this information.
Sam - Feb 24, 2019 8:17 AM
The screenshot says American Express.PMT refund
You - Feb 24, 2019 8:19 AM
I am signed out of the Bank interface and will answer this question when you inform me how to contact American
Express to follow up this chat session
You - Feb 24, 2019 8:19 AM
You can initiate a chat with us anytime, we are available 24/7; and we can review the previous interaction you had
with us. If you wish, I can also standby with you while you are checking this information at your bank's interface.
Sam - Feb 24, 2019 8:21 AM
I would like to know whom to write and American Express, and a reference number. AM I CLEAR
You - Feb 24, 2019 8:21 AM
i do not want to stand by i want a reference number.
You - Feb 24, 2019 8:22 AM
this is not for a chat this is fraud
You - Feb 24, 2019 8:22 AM
The reference number for this chat is cbed7ab0-a262-4364-894b-157f0dd5087b. I am sorry that you feel this way.
However, we do not have any information of the payment you have sent to us. I can sure setup an investigation
against the missing payment but for that I need to know the date when you have sent this payment to us (or it is
debited from your bank account).
Sam - Feb 24, 2019 8:23 AM
SCREENSHOT
You - Feb 24, 2019 8:33 AM
Karen, I understand that you see this information on your bank's website, however, American Express does not have
access to your Bank account website, and there is no payment, nor refund reflecting on your American Express card
account for $5,000
Sam - Feb 24, 2019 8:33 AM
Please confirm the date of debit of this amount from the screenshot.
Sam - Feb 24, 2019 8:34 AM
THAT IS BECAUSE AMERICAN EXPRESS HAS REMOVED THIS, OR BECAUSE MY BANK HAS LIED TO
ME. AND YOU ARE UNABLE TO WAIT FOR 15 MINUTES WHILE I ATTEMPT TO FIND OUT WHICH
THIS IS?
You - Feb 24, 2019 8:34 AM
FOR THE ANSWER TO THAT QUESTION, YOU HAVE TO WAIT 15 MINUTES. I ALREADY GAVE YOU
THE DATE OF THE REFUND
You - Feb 24, 2019 8:35 AM
We are here to help you and available 24/7. You can sure find the information from your bank's website and then
initiate a chat with us so that we have all the information to setup an investigation.

5
Sam - Feb 24, 2019 8:35 AM
I DO NOT WANT TO HAVE TO RAISE THIS PROBLEM FROM THE BEGINNING AGAIN WITH AMEX.
YOU CANNOT WAIT 15 MINUTES?
I am here with you, however, if the chat is idle for 4 minutes, the chat may get dropped automatically, and you will
need to initiate a new chat session in this case.
And as I mentioned, the next rep will also have access to this conversation.
Sam - Feb 24, 2019 8:37 AM
So I have 4 minutes now?
You - Feb 24, 2019 8:38 AM
I will start the 4 minutes when you confirm this
You - Feb 24, 2019 8:38 AM
That's not what I mean. I was just trying to inform you about the details.
Sam - Feb 24, 2019 8:38 AM
So how much time do I have to research the questions you are raising before this chat session ends?
You - Feb 24, 2019 8:39 AM
You may receive automatic warnings within 2 minutes of the chat being idle. So you can check and let me know the
debit date within a couple of minutes or I will leave a note on your account and you can chat with us again. You
won't need to explain the scenario again.
Sam - Feb 24, 2019 8:40 AM
I have pressed the warnings four times already, and that interferes with my research.
You - Feb 24, 2019 8:41 AM
I have not started the research

I have reported a refund of $5,000 from Amex showing on my bank statement, and want to find out what
happened.
You - Feb 24, 2019 8:46 AM

6
I see. Have you send any payment to us in the past for this amount?
Shawn - Feb 24, 2019 8:47 AM
I made this payment through the World Bank's Credit Union, using the billpayer function.
You - Feb 24, 2019 8:48 AM
Got it, and on which date this payment was made?
Shawn - Feb 24, 2019 8:48 AM
When the payment was not reflected in the Amex account, I made screenshots of a refund of the payment.
You - Feb 24, 2019 8:48 AM
I told Sam that it would take me a few minutes to find out this information, and requested that the chat
session continue while I found this out.
You - Feb 24, 2019 8:49 AM
Oh, I see and this refund is showing on your bank's statement, right?
Shawn - Feb 24, 2019 8:49 AM
Sure, please take your time to find this information, I am here with you.
Shawn - Feb 24, 2019 8:49 AM
CORRECT. I have screenshot of this refund

I see it's your Simply Cash Business card for which you submitted the payment. However we didn't receive any such
payment on the account, it seems like your bank was not able to transmit it and hence there is no mention of this
payment with us -- which is the reason why your bank has refunded it. Having said that, if you wish to make this
payment again, you can sure do this online at www.americanexpress.com/pbc
Shawn - Feb 24, 2019 9:00 AM
Having said that, for details as to why this payment was not processed and refunded, we request you to please speak
with your bank as only your bank will be able to provide this information.
Shawn - Feb 24, 2019 9:00 AM
So who got the 5,000 from the date the money was deducted from my account and why did the Bank say that Amex
had refunded the payment?
You - Feb 24, 2019 9:02 AM
Amex is involved as well, whether you want to admit this or not. You have an issue with the BankFund Federal
Credit Union
You - Feb 24, 2019 9:02 AM
Let me clarify one thing, you see a debit of this payment on 02/04 and then there is a credit, right?

payment on 02/04 and then there is a credit, right?
Shawn - Feb 24, 2019 9:02 AM

You - Feb 24, 2019 9:03 AM
Correct
You - Feb 24, 2019 9:03 AM
Just so that you know, we work on real time system and every activity on your account is noted immediately. Had
any information regarding this payment is shared by your bank with us, you should be able to see the details in
'Payment History' for this account.

your bank as the payment is initiated from their end) we are not seeing any details regarding the same on your credit
card account.
Shawn - Feb 24, 2019 9:04 AM
Just so that you know, I am reporting corruption of all of the Banks in the world. So it does not surprise me when
this kind of misbehavior crops up here.
You - Feb 24, 2019 9:05 AM

So let's see if I understand what you are telling me. I instruct my bank to pay Amex. Amex returns the payment.
Then it turns out in the time between the payment was made and when it was returned, the money went to a third
company that had nothing to do with my payment instructions?
You - Feb 24, 2019 9:15 AM
You - Feb 24, 2019 9:15 AM
Seems like there is a confusion. Let me explain...
Shawn - Feb 24, 2019 9:16 AM
When submitting the payment, the account number used was for a cancelled Costco Cash Rebate Card (which you
know is converted to CITI) which is why the payment was not appearing on your Simply Cash Business Card. And
since the account is cancelled, which is why the payment is returned.
Shawn - Feb 24, 2019 9:17 AM
Since the payment is now returned, you can submit it for the correct account.
Now that we understand what happened, you are drawing conclusions that are not correct
You - Feb 24, 2019 9:18 AM
I did not consent to any of this, and my consent was required.

Also, the last five you have shared, they are not for your Simply Cash Business Card; if you have this card handy
you can match the account number for which the payment was submitted.
Shawn - Feb 24, 2019 9:20 AM

10
No, Shawn. Those account numbers were not with my consent.
You - Feb 24, 2019 9:20 AM
So how actually this payment was submitted Karen?
Karen?
Shawn - Feb 24, 2019 9:20 AM
my consent was only for payment to Amex, not Citibank.
You - Feb 24, 2019 9:21 AM
That's right, but it depends on what is the account number you are using.
Shawn - Feb 24, 2019 9:21 AM
You can see the account number for which you have submitted the payment, and match it with your Simply Cash
Business Card number.
Shawn - Feb 24, 2019 9:21 AM
I was using Amex's account number.
You - Feb 24, 2019 9:21 AM
But you have to mention an account number to route the payment to a correct American Express account.

Glad we are connected. As you can see both the account number are different which is why the payment
was not routed towards the correct account.
Shawn - Feb 24, 2019 9:28 AM
you replaced that card, and told me that you would link these numbers. That is not true?
You - Feb 24, 2019 9:29 AM
What does Amex have to do with Costco's Citibank card?
You - Feb 24, 2019 9:13 AM
This card was transferred to Citi long time back, and while submitting the payment it seems you have used the card
details for this old account.
Shawn - Feb 24, 2019 9:13 AM
Which is why it is sent to that account.
Shawn - Feb 24, 2019 9:13 AM
Could you please login and check if you see that payment on Costco's Citibank card?
Shawn - Feb 24, 2019 9:14 AM
Also, please provide the details as requested on the secure form which will appear at the top of this chat window.
Shawn - Feb 24, 2019 9:15 AM
So let's see if I understand what you are telling me. I instruct my bank to pay Amex. Amex returns the payment.
Then it turns out in the time between the payment was made and when it was returned, the money went to a third
company that had nothing to do with my payment instructions?
You - Feb 24, 2019 9:15 AM
Seems like there is a confusion. Let me explain...
Shawn - Feb 24, 2019 9:16 AM
When submitting the payment, the account number used was for a cancelled Costco Cash Rebate Card (which you
know is converted to CITI) which is why the payment was not appearing on your Simply Cash Business Card. And
since the account is cancelled, which is why the payment is returned.
Shawn - Feb 24, 2019 9:17 AM
Since the payment is now returned, you can submit it for the correct account.
Shawn - Feb 24, 2019 9:17 AM
Now that we understand what happened, you are drawing conclusions that are not correct
You - Feb 24, 2019 9:18 AM
I did not consent to any of this, and my consent was required.
You - Feb 24, 2019 9:18 AM
The payment was submitted through your bank's online account after you have provided all the details - which
means you have submitted this payment with your consent, right?
Shawn - Feb 24, 2019 9:19 AM
Also, the last five you have shared, they are not for your Simply Cash Business Card; if you have this card handy
you can match the account number for which the payment was submitted.
Shawn - Feb 24, 2019 9:20 AM
No, Shawn. Those account numbers were not with my consent.
You - Feb 24, 2019 9:20 AM
So how actually this payment was submitted Karen?
Shawn - Feb 24, 2019 9:20 AM
my consent was only for payment to Amex, not Citibank.
You - Feb 24, 2019 9:21 AM
That's right, but it depends on what is the account number you are using.
Shawn - Feb 24, 2019 9:21 AM
You can see the account number for which you have submitted the payment, and match it with your Simply Cash
Business Card number.
Shawn - Feb 24, 2019 9:21 AM
I was using Amex's account number.
You - Feb 24, 2019 9:21 AM
But you have to mention an account number to route the payment to a correct American Express account.
Shawn - Feb 24, 2019 9:22 AM
You are working overtime on how the bankers operate. Try and focus on how the client operates.

Karen, I am sorry that you feel this way. But you are submitting this payment from your Bank's website and
American Express will not know what details you have used to submit the payments at your bank's website.
Shawn - Feb 24, 2019 9:23 AM
May I know the account number used to submit this payment please?

Yes, if it is a replacement for the same card number. In this case the last five digits of the card will change but the
remaining digits stays the same.
Shawn - Feb 24, 2019 9:30 AM
So what you told me about Citibank does not apply?
You - Feb 24, 2019 9:30 AM
The account for which you submitted the payment, that's sold to CITI and we do not have any access to it. Also, the
payment is returned because that account is cancelled.

The sale of Amex's account to Citibank? I have nothing to do with this.

We have identified a problem in the way that Amex and Citibank work together without the knowledge of the
customer.
You - Feb 24, 2019 9:34 AM
Karen, as you know the payment was submitted with an incorrect account number which is why its not received by
us.
Shawn - Feb 24, 2019 9:34 AM
I understand it's because of the interest you were trying to make this payment.

ank you. Please put the systemic issues on top of your explanation, because this fraud merits that approach.

Once again I am sorry that you feel this way. As calculated, we will issue you a refund of 79$; against the interest
that should not be assessed if the payment is posted.
