The summary of the talk based on my opinion is about 3 things.

The first one is about

Malaysian economy, the second one is about sustainability and the third one is the main
focus about Industry Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0). All this three things are very very important for
us student as future engineers to ensure we can know how the situation of the outside
world when we graduate and find the job

The first things that dr faiz talking is about the Malaysia Economy. This things is crucial for us
to know the main factor or the main economy contributor in Malaysia. The main economic
in Malaysia is Agriculture manufacturing mining and quarrying construction and services.
This five things can be rank by the share of the Gross Domestic Product (%) and based on the
GDP the most high demand of the sector is services with
(55.6%,2012),(55.0%,2013),(55.4%,2014). the second is in manufacturing
(21.9%,2012),(24.5,2013),(24.2,2014) and followed by mining and quarrying with
(8.4%,2012),(8.2%2013),(8.1%2014).Next is Agriculture with
(7.3%,2013),(7.2%,103),(7.0,2014) and the last one is in construction sector
(3.5%,2012),(3.7%,2013),(3.9,2014).Based on the data the conclusion that can be made is
the trend of the gross domestic product for the five main sector in Malaysia is the same until
2018 and the changes of the percentage is not too great and not to low based on the
previous years.

As student in manufacturing sector. Ir also shows that the total employment in

manufacturing sector is very small because only 2000 people only get the job in every year.
This is very sad for the fresh graduate because need to compete with other people or maybe
lot more experience engineer to get the job. The total graduate student approximately
about 300,000 people every year.so this is a big challenge for fresh graduate to find job after
the graduation. The percentage of the largest employed people is in Small and medium size
enterprise is about 97.3% by the total of the sector and the other is by large Malaysia
Company, Government Link Company (GLC) and Multi Nasional Company (MNC). This three
company only take about 2.7% of the total employee in Malaysia with the Malaysian large
company with 82%, GLC with 12% and the balance is for MNC. The analysis show that the
small and medium company is the main contributor in giving jobs to the graduate and other
jobless people.

The next interesting things is about the problem faced by the employers in hiring fresh
graduate.

It is important to student to ensure they can overcome all this things to ensure they can
secure a better job after graduate from the university. The main problem is poor in English
with the highest 56% and followed by the poor attitude 37% and want high salary 33% ,skill
mismatch 30% , choosy 27% and the last one no CTPA 26%. the other things is not very
significant but also need to take note in order to secure the job. The summary that based on
problem faced by the employers is the student need to have good academic, good and
professional personality ,the ability and willing to learn and explore new things and easy to
connect with coworkers in finishing project as a team. UMP course outcome is same as the
requirement of the employee so all the student need to follow the course outcome in order
to gain all the things needed by the employers.

The next topic is about Sustainability that is how we can create something and at the same
time sustain all the thing including people profit and the planet. Good engineer must be able
to consider all the three things to ensure all people and the planet can gain benefit form the
product. And there is seventeen goals of sustainability development that introduce by the
united nation and all the goals brings benefit to all including the planet and surrounding
environment. The 17 goals of sustainable development is no poverty ,zero hunger, good
health and well-being ,quality education, gender equality, clean water and sanitation ,clean
energy, decent work and economic growth, industry revolution and infrastructure ,reduce
inequalities, sustainable cities and community ,responsible in consumption and production,
climate action, life below water, life on land ,peace and justice and the last one is
partnership for the goals

The third topic for the talk is about Industry Revolution 4.0 or IR 4.0. The things that were
gain from the talk is how the industry in Malaysia undergoes revolution on the past 5 decade
after Malaysia reach the independence. Before ir 1.0 all the industry use the physical work
only without the help from the machine and other things.it 100% rely on the man power
only. Then ir 1.0 is the revolution in using a simple mechanism if mechanical to help in the
production. Next ir 2.0 is using the semi-automatic with the usage or electrical part and
other moving motor or other thing. The ir 3.0 is almost automatic production of robotic
assistance but the production will halt or stop if there is an error or other problem. But the
latest industry revolution is to aim the production of the product will run 24 hour and the
algorithms of the machine can solve the problem without and human interfering and that
why the production can continue for 24 hour nonstop. The robotic machine can
communicate with each other and the person in charge can observe the production using
the internet or in their own private network. That will make the problem can be solve even
the supervisor is not at the production machine.

IR 4.0 is also how the revolution of the industry that also called as the cyber physical system
that use lots of complex algorithms and one of the example is the cloud system that making
the storage of data is in digital only without physical device of storage such as hard drive or
pen drive. This is very interesting in ensure all the process can be solve online. From the talk
also, the revolution of the industry into 4.0 is also influence by the internet of things and the
usage of smart phone that can use to help everyday day life problem with lots of information
is being stored online.

The industry revolution 4.0 is need to be achieve by all the manufacturing company because
the quality of the product and all other cost and profit can be maximized and at the same
time the resources can be use maximum by the company in order to have great sustain the
environment. The production time raw materials can be precisely calculate and re organized
to save lots of other things.
