Hometown (City, Country)

Q No. 4: What’s (the name of) your hometown?

Ans: Karachi is my hometown which is the biggest city of Sindh province located in the
south of my country.

Q No. 5: Is that a big city or a small place?

Ans: Actually, it is a big city, one of its kind, with slightly more than 2 million people. It
has beautiful landscapes with mountains, lakes and sea views. However, due to the
increasing economy, a number of businesses, especially in petroleum, Power Energy and
Automotive, are invested in my hometown that turns it into a promising area.

Q No 6: Please describe your hometown a little?

Ans: My hometown, Karachi is traditional and modern. On the one hand, tradition is
preserved by a number of festivals celebrated by local people such as various religious
and social ceremonies around the year. On the other hand, we preserve the historical
sites for tourism and education such as ancient graveyard and ancient buildings as well
around the city.

Q No. 7: How long have you been living there?

Ans: I have been living here since I was borne. I raised here

Q No. 8: What do you like (most) about your hometown?

Ans: I like the hospitality and the love of people here. Everyone is living close together
and willing to give others a hand when they need help. If you ask me more, second thing
I like the most is food diversity here. Karachi is not far behind when it comes to having a
wide range of food eateries. The world famous burns road is a street located at the city
center, neighbored by the hustling and bustling of Saddar and is famous for its traditional
food and drinks as well.
Vocabulary
Hospitality (n) The friendly and generous reception and entertainment of guests, visitors,
or strangers
Give someone a hand (idiom) to help someone do something

Q No. 9: Is there anything you dislike about it?

Ans: There are couple of things I don’t like when you are in Karachi. Firstly, Karachi's
pick and mix attitude to traffic laws will get to you sooner or later. Most drivers ignore
traffic rules completely and operate on the principal of “might is right” and it’s been
worsening day by day. Secondly, you will realize that electricity and running water are
luxuries actually here. Karachi is definitely better off than many rural areas of Pakistan
but the sort of uninterrupted services you get abroad are a dream for Karachiites. You
will come to rely heavily on your electricity generator and your water tanker supply.
Hobby:

Q No. 10: What are your hobbies?

Ans: Hobby is something I believe pulls out the hidden talent of an individual. Although
most people have one or other kind of hobbies, I love playing the video games.
Nowadays, online games are often much more fun as you can play games with more than
one person at the same time. I usually play games in the evening after work. My dream is
to travel all around the world. I have always loved meeting new people and learning
about new cultures.

Q No. 11: What type of hobbies are popular among teenagers in your country?
Ans: Hobby is something that completely depends on an individual. However, with
coming years, I have observed teenagers spending time in Facebook or twitter or
Instagram. However, there are even some who love music or dancing and enroll
themselves in those classes. There are some kids who like painting or photography. I
think it all depends on an individual and with coming times, people will surely give more
importance to hobbies.
