3.1 Recognise words in linear and non-linear texts by using knowledge of sounds of

LEARNING STANDARD : 1.1.1 Recognise and reproduce with support a limited range of high frequency target
language phonemes
3.1.2 Recognise and sound out with support beginning, medial and final sounds in a
word
LEARNING OBJECTIVES : By the end of the lesson, the pupils will be able to:
Listen and blend at least 4 out of 9 words by using the flashcards and action through
the activity Blending Time! (M)
Read and acquire at least 4 out of 9 words by blending the sounds together through
the activity Complete the Yacht (C)

Pupils listen to the sounds and look at the action.

ii. LESSON DEVELOPMENT : 1. Pupils do say the sounds : ɪә/ (ear), /eә/ (air), /ʊә/ (ure), /ɜ:/ (er)
2. Pupils do the action.
3. Pupils are introduced to a few words with the flashcards.
Blending Time!
4. Pupils point to the correct words that being said by teacher (refer module).
5. Pupils listen to words said by teacher and find the correct sounds to blend
(module pg 2 & 4). Cut and paste activity.

iii. POST-LESSON : POST-LESSON TASK 2: MAKE CONNECTIONS


Complete the Yacht
6. Pupils need to complete the yacht by blending the correct sounds for each
picture on the yacht (module pg 6). Cut and paste activity
