ACCA’s Approved Learning Partner – Student Tuition

ACCA's Approved Learning Partner – Student Tuition Scheme, aims to establish

quality standards for all ACCA tuition providers and promote excellence on a global
level. The scheme was launched in July 2001, revised in 2007, and is open to any
tuition provider teaching one of ACCA's qualifications. By approving tuition
providers who fulfill a range of quality criteria (across facilities, student support,
material, tuition and course management) ACCA hopes to improve the standard of
service and tuition available to students and help indicate institutions which will
provide professional, quality courses.

ACCA's Approved Learning Partners are tuition providers who have demonstrated
that they can meet a range of challenging performance targets set by ACCA. Gold
and Platinum approvals are granted only to high-quality tuition providers whom
ACCA is confident to recommend to students who are studying accountancy. The
Platinum Status is the highest level of recognition awarded to Approved
Learning Partners by ACCA and currently, LCA is the only institution holding
this status in Mauritius.

23
COMPLAINTS PROCEDURE
LCA strives hard to meet the needs of students in a professional manner and
prides itself that our open door policy provides an ideal opportunity for problems
to be quickly and effectively dealt with. The following details the procedures
open to all LCA students if they feel that they have not been dealt with to the
standards normally operated by LCA.

In the first instance of a complaint informal resolution should be the first course of
action. A student is therefore encouraged to contact the administration department,
in the first instance. The administrative staff will record the nature of the
complaint, will investigate it and hopefully resolve the matter. The College aims to
investigate and resolve any informal complaint within 7 working days of the
notification.

Should the student feel that the matter has not been resolved satisfactorily he/she
should then approach the Administrative Manager. The student should at this stage
put the complaint in writing. The Administrative Manager will then investigate the
issue, including a review of the action taken by the administrative staff. Should it
be required, the Administrative Manager will meet and discuss the matter with the
student and will formally write to the student with the decision of the College
within 10 working days of receipt of the written complaint from the student. If the
student feel that their complaint has not been satisfactorily dealt with then they have
a final written right of appeal to the College. This final right of appeal should be
addressed to Ravi Gill, the Managing Director and must be received within 10
working days of the date of the written decision by the Administrative Manager.
The result of the appeal is final, though a student can still bring the matter to the
attention of his/her professional/ academic body.
Students can raise issues of concern without fear of being disadvantaged and in the
knowledge that confidentiality will be upheld. Complainants will be given prior
warning, if disclosure is necessary, to investigate their complaint.
LCA will monitor the nature of complaints and will use the information to improve
its systems and processes.Currently, students have access to a complaints book
and acomplaints boxat both the Port Louis and Ebene premiseswhere they can
put their complaints or provide their suggestions in writing.
