Inverter and Duplex Solenoid Adjustments

*Note: All EDOC references are from the D110F EDOC*

The object of this adjustment is to reduce the amount of jamming in the duplex and inverter areas, by adjusting the turn
gates to their maximum throw positions. I have been adjusting my machines like this for a number of years, with a very
high degree of success

1. Pull out the Duplex Unit and remove the front black cover (PL 14.2 item 16)
2. Push the Solenoid Link Lever (PL 14.4, Item 2) to the right, to engage the Duplex Solenoid (PL 14.6 Item 9).

3. Loosen the two screws, that hold the Duplex Solenoid in place
4. While keeping the Solenoid engages, gently pull the solenoid wires to the left, as far as it will go WITHOUT
allowing the solenoid to disengage.

5. Snug the two screws, that were loosened in step 3

6. Toggle the Solenoid Link Lever (PL 14.4, Item 2) back and forth, a few times. The solenoid should stay engaged
(closed) with minimal pressure from your finger. If the solenoid requires excessive force, to keep it closed,
loosen the two screws and move it slightly to the right. Then try toggling the lever again.
7. When the Duplex solenoid is properly adjusted, reinstall the Front Cover and slide the Duplex unit back into
place.

Next we need to adjust the Inverter Solenoid

1. Remove the Fusing Unit (REP 15.1.1)

2. Remove the Inverter Unit (REP (REP 13.2.2)
3. The D110 Family has a black plastic cover, on the solenoid. It will need to be removed for this adjustment and
re-installed after.
4. With the solenoid (PL 13.2, Item 7) disengaged (open), loosen the two mounting screws.
5. Observe the Clear Plastic Gate Fingers. As you move the solenoid bracket down, the finger will rise. The
adjustment is to get the clear plastic fingers (PL 13.18, Item 5) to sit just below the black ribs on the Lower left
Chute (PL 13.11, Item 6). It is best viewed from the side.

Once the adjustment is verified, reassemble everything and test the machine. You will find that the machine will
not jam in the inverter and duplex areas nearly as often and the machine will be more reliable when running
thicker stocks, because the gates can now open wider and funnel the paper through, without catching it.
