n The analysis of crash test data not only
involves very large amounts of data, but
also many different kinds of data such as
channels, measurement values, images and
videos. Immediately after the test all
calculations on the data need to be quick
and reliable, norm compliant, and the
results must be available as quickly as
possible in fully validated test reports.
Often results also need to be compared
with simulation results.
Such constraints show that test engineers
need very complete and efficient tools to
analyze this data. ORME Company has been
working for 10 years in the field of test and
measurement analysis in various domains,
particularly specializing in automotive
passive safety. ORME has now released the
latest versions of its two major software
applications, TrackReport and TrackImage,
featuring new tools, which dramatically
improve data analysis efficiency.
TrackReport was already considered
as the reference for crash test analysis
and automatic test report generation by
ORME’s customers such as Renault SA
Group, PSA Peugeot Citroën, Faurecia,
Autoliv, Dorel and Bosch. TrackReport

The new TrackReport data multiplexer allows an easy multidata input mode to be utilized
enables users to easily and efficiently design
automated test analysis with standard and
specific calculation libraries, and automated
reports with tables, graphs, images and films
in a multipage report, synchronizing curves
and films. The new TrackReport – release
three – now extends to include two new
powerful tools.
The first tool is the data multiplexer.
Assuming a simple TrackReport test analysis
model – say a sequence of calculations and
a graphical setup of the results – the data
multiplexer enables the user to select many
data in one click, and perform the complete
calculation process using only simple drag
and drop. Thus, not only is the calculation
sequence applied to each selected datum,
but the graphical setup automatically shows
the results for each one, leading to a simple,
easy and immediate comparison without
any further programming.
The second is the data composer. This
new tool is aimed at signal management.
It enables the user to display signals,
select regions of interest, concatenate
signals with smooth transitions, and achieve
signal surgery to correct errors. The new
data set may then be saved or exported
to any particular format, or directly input
into a TrackReport test analysis model to
create a report.
More specifically, in the crash test field,
ORME has launched a complete set of
TrackReport models dedicated to dummy
calibrations that will be regularly updated
to follow safety standards and regulations.
PSA Peugeot Citroën has chosen to use
TrackReport and this particular set of
models, automatically integrated with
Crash Designer for the whole dummy
calibration process.
ORME is also strongly involved in
ASAM-ODS activities as an optional import/
export ASAM-ODS client may come out
with TrackReport. This module offers a
complete search query engine, and enables
the import and export of data to and from
an ASAM-ODS database, as well as read
and write ATF and XATF files.
TrackImage allows users to perform
automatic analyses of sequences of digital
images, and measure trajectories, velocities,
accelerations and deformations of any kind
of object in the images in various spatial
references. It includes several independent
modules, each of them being dedicated to
a special application: 2D- and 3D-motion
tracking, deformation tracking, airbag
deployment, virtual object inlay and rotating
machine analysis. TrackImage is now being
used by DGA, CNES (Kourou spatial
center), EADS, ETAS and Snecma Moteurs
for aerospace applications; by Autoliv,
Dorel, Faurecia, and PSA Peugeot Citroën
for automotive crash test analysis;
and Schneider Electric for electrical
devices applications.

TrackReport and TrackImage – plus the
company’s constant efforts to satisfy the
