Semester-I
The project mainly deals with the past and present of bilateral relationship between the People's
Republic of China (PRC) and the Republic of India. China and India are the two most populous
countries and fastest growing major economies in the world. These two Asian giants have a vibrant
past of religious and cultural relations dated back to Buddhist era. Both nuclear power Asian
countries have unstable relations in recent past but have witnessed a constant growth in bilateral
trades. Both the countries have witnessed a major war and several military standoffs. Their mutual
relation has a major impact on the geopolitics of Asia, determines power balance of the world.
Growth in diplomatic and economic influence has increased the significance of their bilateral
relationship. Hence their mutual relation needs to be steady of maintaining stability in world.
Research Methodology
This project work is descriptive and analytical in approach. It is largely based on the secondary and
electronic sources of data and analysis of articles, journals, books and references based on the
bilateral relations of India and China. The texts that were used for project include books, articles,
research paper and news given in various websites as well as online journals.
