HCA/HealthONE’s Swedish Medical Center Celebrates Renovated Helipad

Swedish Medical Center serves as the south Denver metro areas only level I trauma facility with a
dedicated burn and reconstructive center.

Englewood, CO, January 30, 2019 --(PR.com)-- HealthONE/HCA's Swedish Medical Center, a level I
trauma center and the Rocky Mountain region's primary trauma referral center, celebrated the re-opening
of their rooftop helipad with a ceremonial ribbon cutting and helicopter landing by HealthONE's AirLife
transport team.

The helipad at Swedish Medical Center serves flight crews from a multi-state region including more than
a dozen flight companies from the Western slope to the Eastern plains. Over 450 patients arrived at
Swedish Medical Center via helicopter transport last year alone.

“We have over one hundred hospitals that send us patients to receive a higher level of care. Patients arrive
from all over the country and occasionally from other parts of the world,” said Richard Hammett,
president and CEO of Swedish Medical Center. “This helipad is one of the key entry points for not only
the patients at Swedish, but also the patients at Craig Hospital next door.”

Construction on the hospital helipad began late October and includes the installation of a new ramp,
updated lighting and canopy for the protection and safety of patients and staff when arriving via
helicopter at Swedish Medical Center. Hospital operations remained intact throughout the construction
process with the hospital utilizing a temporary helipad nearby.
