ABSTRACT

Let’s face it, aside from cryptocurrency trading, the only real
practical use of blockchain technology today is for games. As
demonstrated recently by MegaCryptoPolis city builder strategy
game, the project with a deep gameplay can congest up to 1/3
power1 of the Ethereum mining network just to maintain its
operations.

MegaCryptoPolis soared to the first position on the dApp


(decentralized application) list in game category by volume2
and managed to hold it for months to become one of the
most popular3 Ethereum blockchain games so far.

That was a challenge to bring game


mechanics from MegaCryptoPolis
White Book on Ethereum smart
contracts. It took our team more than
half of a year to implement this
described logic in Solidity. On a
centralized server, that would barely
take us a month.

In fact we have accomplished even


more than we had planned, as well as
introduced some fresh concepts for
further game development in the
future to build a whole new platform
on top of it.

We are now happy to announce the


merging of this original platform
concept with our new and feature
packed rendition, bringing you a whole
new and exciting project.

INTRODUCTION

MegaCryptoPolis was a pioneer in the blockchain


games industry by means of introducing highly
elaborated and rich gameplay. Its concept has been
designed with respect to all technological
advantages and possible limitations of a natively
distributed environment.

Since then we have seen a huge increase in players


willing a more complicated and deep gaming
experience, beyond just breeding, fighting and
collecting digital tokens. We have also noticed that
players love to hunt valuable resources and build
mining facilities.

MoonCryptoPolis will take these aspects to an


absolutely new level.

Players will be able to claim ownership of a parcel on


the moon surface and then use it to build a moon
base for excavating valuable resources and receiving
rewards.

MoonCryptoPolis will introduce a completely new


approach for in-game reward distribution. Producing
resources to complete contracts for rewards in Ether
will deliver transparent and rewarding gaming
experience.

Fantastic details and super realistic map of the moon


will be introduced as the game environment and
atmosphere is being a core focus for us in the
creation of MoonCryptoPolis.

Despite some similarities with its predecessor,
MoonCryptoPolis is a whole new game using only the best
and well-tested practices enhanced with a number of
incredible new features:

More sophisticated and strategy-focused gameplay;


More sectors (Districts successors), each with their own
unique gaming map and scenery;
No delays in sectors openings;
Fully automated sector auctions with time limits and ability
of instant buyout;

MoonCryptoPolis is based on a decentralized model, with all in-


game transactions verified by smart contracts with all player
activities stored within the Ethereum blockchain.

We recognize our mission to squeeze as much of the juice as we


can from the Ethereum network. We truly believe in the future of
an Ethereum ecosystem, and hope that with further
development and updates, transactions will be cheaper and
faster.

What may be even more important, games come with full
integration. MoonCryptoPolis will be represented in the
form of application for decentralized city platform that
may be used by citizens to empower their buildings.

The moon surface will be easily accessed using rocket launching


pads, as well as MegaCryptoPolis can be reached from the moon
by clicking on Earth.

By being fully decentralized, this means that everyone can run


their own copy of MoonCryptoPolis, or even build their own
unique game on top of their smart contracts and digital assets.

SPECIAL THANKS

We would like to extend a very warm thankyou to our community,


who have helped us so much in staying true to our promise and
keeping the project on decentralized rails.

It was tough, but working tirelessly behind the scenes we have


managed to deliver every single point described in the
MegaCryptoPolis White Book making something very difficult
seem quite simple in the end.

Sure, there have been a few bumps in the road, and there have
been some delays, but we are willing to improve on that, moving
forward to bring you the most of what the blockchain gaming
industry can possibly offer!

GAMEPLAY

MoonCryptoPolis takes place on the virtual copy of the


Moon, where players will be able to establish their very
own base and hunt for valuable resources to receive
rewards in the form of Ether.

Sectors
The gaming Moon is divided into sectors, each representing a
part of the real moon surface, with a unique set of map tiles
available to be used for construction of your moon base. Every
sector is an ERC-721 token with ownership rights stored on
Ethereum blockchain.

There are three major


types of sectors:

• Large Sector ―
100x100 (10 000) tiles,
4.7 square miles
(12.3 square kilometers)

• Medium Sector ―
100x50 (5 000) tiles,
2.4 square miles
(6. 1square kilometers)

• Small Sector ―
50x50 (2 500) tiles,
1.2 square miles
(3.1 square kilometers)

Only 663 sectors will be


created. No new sectors
will be ever minted.

Acquiring a Sector
Any player can acquire unclaimed sectors during an auction
period. The starting price for a sector depends on its size, for
small sectors, auctions will begin at 2.5 ETH, 5 ETH for medium
and 10 ETH for a large sector. Minimum bid step will be 0.5 ETH.

Auctions will close after 7 days if no new bids were made. It is


important to note that every new bid will prolong an auction for
7 days. Auctions may not last longer than 30 days after the first
bid was made.

In order to participate in an auction, one should transfer the


amount of ETH required for a new bid to the smart contract,
where it will then be locked until the auction end date or
alternatively, if a higher bid occurs.

The sector will then be awarded to the player who has bided the
highest amount of Ether during the auction. In the event of a
player not being successful in their bid ― all Ether will be
refunded to the same address from where it came from. The
person who bids at the end of the auction date with the highest
amount is then considered the winner, and has the right to own
the sector.

There is also an opportunity to buyout a sector from auction.


This is only enabled for selected sectors when paying 3 times
than the current bid. In such cases, there will be no need to wait
a further 7-30 days, sector ownership rights will be instantly
transferred to the buyer.

Players will be able to access a sector and start acquiring land


plots 24 hours after the owner takes its ownership.

Auction for the next sector will be started soon after the previous
sector will be opened by its owner.

Sector Owner Benefits
The benefits of having Sector ownership rights allows you to get
part of Ether spent on every action within sector’s land plots:

Purchasing a land plot - from 0.01 to 0.165 Ether from a


single cell, depending on the exact cost of a land plot and
pricing conditions of certain Sector;
Constructing or upgrading a building – 10% of the
upgrading price goes to the Sector Owner;
Internal marketplace deals – land plot and moon base
transfers between players will add a 2% royalty to the
Sector Owner.

Corporations
Sectors are developed by a virtual corporations those define
initial auction prices, resource excavation speed and prices for
land plots and buildings.

Sector Map
Each sector has a unique gaming map. Sectors may vary on the
number of resource spots and amount of resources that are
contained within. Every sector requires its own strategy to
succeed.

Players can claim land plots within a


sector during the first stage to enable
construction of moon bases on these
spots following the games
commencement.

Most resources are only contained


within specific locations (known as
Resource Spots). Water Ice (H2O) and
Helium isotope (Helium3) can be
extracted from any building spot.
Resources excavation require special
buildings to be constructed on tiles
with actual access to resources.

Claiming land plots near resource spots is always a good idea,


but what may be even more important once the game
commences, is having plenty of space around to expand your
base. For example, a large group of connected tiles would be
extremely useful.

Some plots on the game map can’t be claimed (like stones and
small crates) as they are not available to be used for
constructions — being a natural obstacles, they create additional
layer of tactics for the gameplay.

Claiming a Land Plot on the Moon
Initially, all plots of land on sector’s game map are considered
spare. Any player can claim any unowned building tile by
transferring asked amount of Ether to the smart contract.

Not Available to Claim Building Tile Resource Spot

Once someone claims a spare moon land plot, two major events
hardcoded in the smart contract will then follow:

Moon Base
A Moon base is the core gameplay component. One player may
have only one base in the sector. The way how it is built and
developed is what defines a player’s success, as it then allows
them to produce resources and progress throughout the game.
It’s all about smart thinking, strategy and planning. No random
numbers are included (as no number generator is reliable within
the blockchain).

Choosing the correct place to establish a moon base on a


sector map is most likely to be one of the most important
part of the strategy.

Fully constructed and well-maintained moon base produce
resources that can be used to accomplish contracts for rewards
in Ether. It is not necessarily important to have the whole moon
base constructed around resource spots, though having an
access to these areas through several buildings is always an
great advantage.

Buildings
Built by players, moon bases consist of different modules (also
referred to as buildings) those are connected to each other.
Buildings can only be connected with existing buildings, so that
all parts of the moon base will always be in one piece. Moon bae
allow players collect resources.

The moon base always started with the Command Center — it


has to be constructed first, as this allows for construction of all
other buildings. Only a Command Center can be constructed
without connection to other buildings on the gaming map. Only
one Command Center can be established on one sector for a one
player.

Resources excavation buildings (Sub Surface Mine and Tunnel


Mine) can be constructed only in close proximity to resource
spots that grants a moon base direct access to resource spots.

In the case players having several modules (or land plots) that
are located in different areas, you can connect them with special
subterranean roads. These modules are cheap as easy to
maintain, being designed to transfer electricity and resources
freely through them.

To build a base, players need to have several connected tiles at


their disposal (at least 4 of them). It is a fundamental
requirement to connect initial set of buildings.

No building can be constructed within another player’s claimed


lands or buildings. Please keep in mind that there must always
be one clear tile between neighbouring moon bases.

COMMAND СENTER

This is the first building that needs to be constructed in order to


initiate moon base development. It provides a small amount of
electricity, plus a number of workers. This will be enough to kick
start a base, though it cannot supply the whole entire base for a
long period of time. Command Center upgrade levels may
restrict maximum upgrade levels for other buildings within that
base.

LANDING PAD

A Landing pad provides players with a safe landing site for cargo
space shuttles. It also allows players to send resources to Orbital
Headquarters and construct a whole range of building types.

SUB-SURFACE MINE

This building can only be constructed with regolith tile.

Produces: Titan & Platinum Metals Ore

TUNNEL MINE

Can be constructed only on regolith tile that contains resources.

Produces: Rare Earth Metals and Gold Ore

DEEP MINE

This building can be constructed anywhere.

Produces: Water Ice

QUARRY

This building can be constructed anywhere. It allows players to


mine Helium Isotope.

Produces: Helium3

ORE SILO

Stores unrefined ore.

SOLAR ARRAYS

Provides energy that buildings require to function correctly


inside of the game.

LIVING BLOCK

A living block provideы workers for all buildings. It has a limit of


2 buildings within a moon base. After that player will need a
recreation block to be constructed.

RECREATION BLOCK

Allows for more living blocks to be built on a moon base.

REFINERY

This Is where Ore is processed and extracted, giving players


resources. This needs to be done in order for resources to be
delivered to completed contracts.

Building Requirements
Ether is required to construct buildings — certain amount
depends on on the corporation that develops the sector. Some
building also requires Energy and/or Workers to be constructed
and operated. Most buildings can be upgraded, and those
upgrades may also require additional Ether, Energy and
Workers.

Energy
Energy is required for buildings to operate
and for them to be constructed.

A lack of energy will stop buildings from working. Energy is


gained by building energy stations such known as Solar Arrays.

A building’s main energy source first comes from a players


Command Center on their base. This will be enough to power a
small base, but a player must also build more energy buildings
sooner or later to help sustain further constructions on their
base.

Workers
A Lack of Workers will eventually lead to
buildings not being able to function.

Additional workers are gained by building Living Blocks. Workers


are also required for these buildings to be constructed and to
operate effectively.

Demolishing Buildings
Players can destroy any building that has been constructed as
long as it only has one connection to another building.
Destroying a building will come at a small price within the game.

Resources
The Moon’s surface features a high concentration of
extremely valuable and convenient excavation
resources. Regolith has been partially removed at
resource spots for easy access to resources.

There are six major types of resources available in the game:

• Titan
• Platinum Metals
• Rare-Earth Metals, (REM)
• Gold
• H2O
• Helium3

Initially, every sector has a limited supply of resources, but more


supply can be found over time within the same spots.

Extraction
Gold, Titan, Platinum Metals and Rare-Earth-Metals can be
excavated only at resource spots. These can be distinguished by
their special appearance — dark, deep digs of the moon surface.

Every land plot within a resource spot has the same


concentration of resources — these are not evenly distributed
and changes simultaneously for all as resources are being
excavated.

Mining buildings can be constructed on a Land Plot between


plain regolith and resource spot.

Each resource spot may contain 1 to 4 resource types in any


compilation. In order to mine each resource, special types of
buildings must be constructed:

• Sub-surface Mine — for Titan and Platinum Metals;


• Tunnel Mine — for Rare-earth Metals and Gold.

The Resources amount depends on how abundant resources are


in a particular spot.

By pressing the "Mine" button, a player can begin to dig out a
fixed amount of Ore. It is important to remember that a player
must have a sufficient amount of space in their Ore Silos at their
base to store it.

Once mining has commenced, players don’t have to define which


resource they will receive. Every time a player mines, they will
receive 1 or 2 types of resources – depending on the resources
existing on exact spot they choose to mine from.

It is also important to note that mining for these resources takes


time. That time can be greatly reduced by upgrading equipment
and machinery within buildings.

Please remember that upgrading a mining building lowers the


time needed to mine for resources, but does not increase the
amount of resources that are collected.

Building and upgrading moon base modules requires


Ether and some Gas to sign the transaction. Mining
operations on resource spots does not cost any Ether,
only Gas.

As a result of mining — players will receive Ore, which is then


stored in Ore Silo building. Following this action, it then needs to
be refined in order to receive resources that are contained in
Ore.

Water Ice and Helium3 Mining


These two resources may be produced within every land plot
without direct connectivity to resources spot. No refinery is
needed as resources are received directly in their right form.

Water Ice excavated by Deep Mine building;


Helium3 is harvested at Quarry.

Water Ice and Helium3 do not require refining.

TRADING

MoonCryptoPolis has a rewarding option for choosing a right


strategy in form of Ether that can be received from smart
contracts directly to player’s Ethereum digital wallet.

Budgets Allocation
Part of Ether spent in sector will be allocated to Sector’s
resources fund.

Sector’s Resources Fund is formed from:

Sector’s auctions
Land plots claims
Part of Global Resource Fund

All of Sector’s Resources Fund will go only for that sector


resources only.

Global Resource Fund is formed from:

Sector’s auctions
Land plots claims
Players actions (Building & Upgrading)

Global Resource Fund will add a little bit for every sector
opening. The value depends on sector size, Ether collected in
Fund and how many sectors are opened.

Contracts
Contract is an automatically generated market order to buy
some exact amount of specific resource in Ether. Contracts are
created based on Global Resource Fund. The bigger the resource
amount in the contract, the better is the price. Ether is paid
directly to user’s Ethereum digital wallet when the contract is
completed. The only requirement to complete the contract is an
amount of resource available on player’s balance.

Trading Game Assets
Every Sector and Moon Base are ERC-721 crypto tokens stored
on Ethereum blockchain — they are major game asset to be
traded on the integrated marketplace or used within external
token exchanges.

Land plots can be traded only on the internal marketplace.

MoonCryptoPolis features open and a non-regulated market, as


all in-game assets belong to players and it’s up to them when and
on what conditions to sell it or hold.

Internal Marketplace
Sectors can only be sold at auction or at a fixed price. Keep in
mind that Land plots are sold with a fixed price. All land plot
offers will appear on the global gaming map, and all sector offers
will appear on their own special list. There may be a small
commission on all sales (TBA prior to the game launch).

Land plots and sectors can be sold once the game commences
(marketplace option is not available during the preorder stage).

Land plots with already existing buildings (parts of the moon


base) can’t be sold as well as land plots with a building on
neighboring land plots. Players can destroy their buildings to
help make any occupied land plot be available for sale at a later
stage.

External Marketplaces
Being 100% token owners, players may transfer their tokens
outside of the gaming environment (to external marketplaces
and token exchanges). This will not allow them to list offers on
internal marketplaces, but may help them from paying any
commissions inside of the internal market place.

ROADMAP

The release of MoonCryptoPolis will be divided in two stages:

Phase 1. Lands & Sectors Reservation


Acquiring sectors and spare land plots on sectors’ gaming maps.

Players are able to claim their part of the moon surface by


taking part in an auction for a particular sector.
After the sector has opened, anybody can claim spare land
plots on its gaming map.
Land plot owners receive direct payments in Ether for land
plots those are sold within their own lands’ vicinity.
Sector owners receive Ether transfers for land plots sold in
their sector.

A Player will then be able to construct buildings on land plots


they had claimed at this stage after the game has been fully
released.

First sectors auctions will be started 28 December 2018.

Phase 2. Building & Resources Production


After the game launch players will be able to construct buildings
on claimed land plots to develop their moon bases and compete
for resources. Sector owners will receive part of the Ether spent
for every player’s action in their sector.

Construction of moon bases;


Collecting resources;
Completing contracts to sell resources for Ether;
Part of every payers’ action in the sector for sector owners.

Certain date for MoonCryptoPolis building start will be


announced in Early 2019.

HOW TO PLAY?

Requirements
In order to begin playing the game, you need to have an
Ethereum digital wallet that supports ERC-721 digital tokens on
the Ethereum blockchain. This can be in the form of a Metamask
plugin - available for all popular desktop browsers (Chrome,
Firefox, Brave) or via mobile application, such as Trust Wallet or
Coinbase Wallet.

MoonCryptoPolis will only recognize you as a player and allow


you to interact with the App only if your Ethereum wallet is
connected and unlocked. There is no other way to sign up as a
user or to interact directly with the game.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Being a dApp (decentralized application), MoonCryptoPolis does
not own or manage your game assets. It’s up to you to keep it
secure. A private key or a passphrase for your digital wallet is the
only way to access your game assets. It is important to keep this
data private and store it in a safe place. Failure to do so could
lead to game asset loss, and MoonCryptoPolis is not liable and
cannot help in retrieving them.

DISCLAIMER

Please read this information carefully and in its entirety.

Terms
MoonCyptoPolis (“The Game”) is a distributed application that
runs on the Ethereum network, allowing for the management of
special crypto tokens with the single purpose to demonstrate
gaming processes within the GUI client that is hosted on the
developer’s servers.

MoonCyptoPolis development has not yet been completed and


will require significant capital funding, expertise, time and effort
of the management team in order to successfully launch the
game. Changes may be made to the specifications of the
MoonCyptoPolis product described in this document.

Risks
Using the MoonCyptoPolis game involves a high degree of risk.

You should accept and acknowledge each of the following risks


described below, together with all of the other information
contained on the official MoonCyptoPolis website before making
a decision to participate.

THE PRODUCT MAY NOT BE LAUNCHED


The game may not be successfully developed, marketed and/or
launched. Participants may not receive tokens, any product or
service. It is possible that the MoonCyptoPolis game and assets
may not ever be released. There may never be an operational
token and the game launch may not occur.

CHANGES COULD BE MADE


MoonCyptoPolis developers may have to make changes to the
specifications of the game. Developers may be unable to deliver
MoonCyptoPolis in a way that reflects the specifications or any
form of functioning as described in this document.

FAILURE TO MAINTAIN
It is still possible that the game will experience malfunctions or
otherwise fail to be adequately developed or maintained, which
may negatively impact the MoonCyptoPolis and game assets.

CEASE OF OPERATIONS

IT IS POSSIBLE THAT, DUE TO ANY NUMBER OF REASONS,


INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, AN UNFAVORABLE
FLUCTUATION IN THE VALUE OF CRYPTOGRAPHIC CURRENCIES,
OR IN THE CASE OF MOONCRYPTOPOLIS, MAY NOT BE WIDELY
ADOPTED AND MAY HAVE LIMITED USERS, OR ALTERNATIVE
PRODUCTS MAY BE ESTABLISHED THAT COMPETE WITH OR, ARE
WILL BE MORE WIDELY USED. THE DEVELOPERS MAY NO
LONGER BE VIABLE TO OPERATE AND THE MOONCRYPTOPOLIS
PLATFORM, WITH ALL OF ITS GAME ASSETS, MAY DISSOLVE OR
CEASE TO EXIST.

HIGH VOLATILITY
The prices of the Ethereum cryptocurrency and any game assets
may be extremely volatile. Fluctuations in the price of crypto
tokens could materially and adversely affect the value of your
digital assets.

BUGS & THREATS


MoonCyptoPolis may be the target of malicious cyberattacks or
contain exploitable flaws in its underlying code, which may result
in security breaches and the loss or theft of game assets.

If the MoonCyptoPolis’s security is compromised, or if the


MoonCryptoPolis is subject to attacks that frustrate our
participants’ ability to access the MoonCyptoPolis, their game
assets or the MoonCyptoPolis product and services, players may
cut back or stop using the MoonCyptoPolis platform, which could
seriously curtail the game process and the value of game assets.

TAXES
The tax treatment about cryptocurrencies and tokens is
uncertain and there may be adverse tax consequences for
participants upon certain future events.

REGULATORY RISKS
The regulatory regime governing the blockchain technologies,
cryptocurrencies, tokens and distributed networks is uncertain,
new regulations or policies may materially adversely affect the
development of MoonCyptoPolis and the value of game assets.

LOSS OF CONTROL
Due to its distributed nature, the MoonCyptoPolis’ developers
may have no control or may only have limited control of the
product once the game has launched.

BLOCKCHAIN RELATED RISKS


Upgrades that are directly involved within the Ethereum network
(hard fork or further platform developments) may change the
way transactions are confirmed and how game assets and
tokens are used.

LOSS OF FUNDS
Participants may be subject to lose all of their Ether
cryptocurrency that is transferred to MoonCyptoPolis smart
contracts.
