HEATER WALL CONTROLS

Suitable for pre 2001 model heaters. Wall control does not require batteries.
The Manual Controller does not have an auto function so you adjust the
temperature manually.
• Turn the wall control ON by sliding the lever at the base across to
your required Set Temperature.
• Turn it OFF by sliding the lever to the extreme left until it clicks.
The current temperature is indicated in the top window. This is an

approximate indication only.
If the current room temperature is lower than the Set Temperature, the heater
will operate to reach and maintain the Set Temperature.
Of course, if the current room temperature is higher than the Set Temperature,
the heater will not switch ON until it falls below the Set Temperature.

MANUAL THERMOSTAT DT90

Suitable for all classic units and Starpro models, requires a 529 interface with
an MPS model.
Wall control requires two AA alkaline batteries.
HOW TO GET HEAT DT90
Turn the thermostat ON by holding the OFF button down for approximately 2-
3 seconds.
Note: the word OFF will disappear from the bottom left hand corner of the
screen and you will hear a click.
The temperature displayed on the screen is the current room temperature.
Press the up and down arrows to adjust the set temperature.
Note: for the heater to turn on the set temperature must be higher than the
room temperature.
When the heater turns on you will see a picture of a flame on the left hand
side of the screen. Once the heater has reached the set temp the picture of the
flame will disappear and a line will appear. This indicates that the heater has
turned off but when the room temp drops below the set temp it will come back
on again automatically.

MANUAL THERMOSTAT
To turn the heater OFF hold down the OFF button for approximately 2-3
seconds.
Note: the word OFF will appear in the bottom left hand corner of the screen
and you will hear a click.
SPANNER
If a spanner appears in the top left hand corner of the screen, a service
technician will be required to attend.
BATTERIES
If a battery appears in the top right hand corner of the screen this indicates that
the batteries require replacing. To replace the batteries remove the front cover
of the thermostat.
On the reverse side of the front cover there will be two AA alkaline batteries.
Remove the batteries and insert two new batteries.
Note: install the top battery first.
Place the front cover onto the backing plate.

START – UP
Fit the battery, press the On/Off button the LCD flashes with the set
temperature, then displays the working mode icon and current room
temperature.
POWER-OFF
Pressing the On/Off button powers the thermostat on or off. While the current
room temperature remains on the display.
BACKLIGHT
Press the Backlight, or Up/Down arrow button. The backlight will go off
several seconds after last button press.
SETTING TEMPERATURE
Press the Up or Down arrow button to set the desires temperature.
WORKING STATUS
The status indicator shows the unit is heating.
RESTORE FACTORY DEFAULTS

Press the Rest button on the back of the thermostat to restore factory defaults.
LOW BATTERY INDICATOR

When the low battery indicator flashes replace the
batteries.

Suitable for HE 5 & 7, EMS 1 & 2, and classic units. Refrige is also operated
via this controller.
The Programmable Controller can operate in either Auto or Manual modes. In

Auto mode you set your own temperature, then leave the rest to the
Controller. It will maintain the level you have chosen, automatically.
SETTING THE DAY AND TIME
· Press the SET PRESENT DAY/TIME key.

· Press the DAY key until the current day is displayed.
· Press the TIME keys (AHEAD/BACK) to set the correct time.
· Press RUN PROGRAM to save the changes.
HOW TO GET INSTANT HEAT
Move the switch marked HEAT OFF COOL to "Heat" and make sure the FAN
switch is in "Auto". Normally, the display shows the current room
temperature.

The system however, works to maintain a Set Temperature and pressing the
PRESENT SETTING key will display that Set Temperature.
To change the Set Temperature press the HOLD TEMP key to ensure that the
new setting will be held for as long as you want.
Then, just use the TEMPERATURE keys, (WARMER/COOLER), to raise and

lower that Set Temperature.
AUTOMATIC OPERATION
In automatic mode the programmable wall controller has an auto-program that

has been preset to turn the system ON in the morning and OFF when you go
to sleep at night.
The WAKE setting is usually used to start the system and pre-warm the house
before everyone gets up.
The LEAVE setting can turn it off when the family has left for the day.
RETURN is then used to switch the system back on again just before everyone
gets home.
SLEEP can turn it off after they are all asleep.
It is recommended that the system be set to turn OFF overnight [as displayed
by the (- -) symbol] to save energy and lower gas bills.
If the preset times and temperatures do not suit they can easily be changed.
SELECT THE PERIOD YOU WISH TO CHANGE.
There are separate keys for WAKE, LEAVE, RETURN and SLEEP.
Press the key for the period you want to change and move to Step 2 if you
want change the Time or Step 3 if you want to change the Temperature.

CHANGING THE TIME OF A PERIOD.
After selecting the Period to be changed then press the DAY key to select the
day.
Note: In programming, the DAY key gives you all the weekdays in one block
and the weekend in another. This is designed to avoid having to program
every weekday individually.
Now use the TIME keys (AHEAD/BACK) to set the time you want the system
to come on.
Press RUN PROGRAM to save the changes.
CHANGING THE TEMPERATURE OF A PERIOD.
Again, select the Period to be changed then press the DAY key to select the
day.
Now use the TEMPERATURE keys (WARMER/ COOLER), to raise and lower
the Set Temperature.
Press RUN PROGRAM. To save the changes.

OVERRIDING THE AUTOMATIC PROGRAM
If you want to interrupt the program for any reason you can. The simplest
method is to use the TEMPERATURE keys (WARMER/ COOLER) and just
select the temperature you want. However, there are also three other options.
If all the periods have been programmed, then the SKIP NEXT PERIOD key
allows you to stay in the current settings and ignore the next period.
So, if you're in the WAKE period and you decide to stay home all day, just
press SKIP and the WAKE period will be maintained right through until the
RETURN period begins.
If the system has already started the LEAVE period and you decide not to go
out, just press CHANGE TO LAST PERIOD and the system will go back to the
WAKE period settings until RETURN begins.
All of these changes are temporary because the automatic program will
resume when it reaches the next program period.
If you want to suspend the entire program for hours, days, weeks, or whatever,
simply press HOLD TEMP, then use the TEMPERATURE keys to set the
required temperature. The system will then hold that temperature for as long
as you want.
Once the circumstances return to normal, you can cancel any of these changes
and return to the program by pressing RUN PROGRAM.

REMOVING THE AUTOMATIC PROGRAM
To remove the automatic program complete the following steps.
Press the WAKE key and then press the COOLER key until the temperature is
-- .
Press the LEAVE key and keep holding it down until the time and temperature
disappear.
Press the RETURN key and keep holding it down until the time and
temperature disappear.
Press the SLEEP key and keep holding it down until the time and temperature
disappear.
Repeat this step for each day by pressing the DAY key followed by the above
keys.
Press the RUN PROGRAM key to save the changes.
The unit will now run manually.
Refer to the “How to get instant heat” section.
FAN ONLY OPERATION
To run the fan continuously set the FAN switch to the ON position.
Note: This facility is an optional extra that can be added to the heater. The
customer needs to ask the installer to make the connection.

REPLACING THE BATTERIES
The programmable wall controller is powered by 3 AA alkaline batteries.
When the REPL BAT message appears on the screen, remove the Controller
from its base by loosening the screws at the bottom corners and replace the
batteries.
Note: Leave the wall control with no batteries for approximately 20 minutes
so that it looses the charge from the old batteries. If you place the new
batteries in straight away it may come up with the REPL BAT message still.
A reset led light and button are on the bottom panel of the wall control. If the
reset light appears you can press the reset button to try and reset the unit.
EMS2 MODELS
An EMS Hi/Lo switch replaces the FAN

ON/AUTO switch.
By using the EMS switch the heaters electronic

controller will automatically switch the gas
valve and fan operation to a lower setting.
Ie. Suitable for a smaller heated area.

SETTING THE CURRENT DAY AND TIME
• Press the CURRENT DAY/TIME key.

• Press the DAY key until the current day is displayed.
• Press the TIME keys (UP/DOWN ARROWS) until the current time is
displayed.
If the current time is Daylight Savings Time press DAYLIGHT TIME until
DST is displayed.
• Press the RUN PROGRAM key.
Note: Pressing the SET CURRENT DAY/TIME KEY will change the time in one
hour increments.
Note: On initial start up or after an extended power loss, 1.00 pm flashes on

the display until a key is pressed.

PROGRAMMING THE HEATER
The heater can be programmed to turn ON/OFF during the following time
periods of a day: Morning, Daytime, Evening and Night. For each period of
the day there are pre-programmed setting that can be altered temporarily or
permanently to suit your individual requirements.
Note: There are also pre-programmed settings for cooling operation if add-
on air conditioning is fitted.
PROGRAMMING THE FIRST DAY
Start by programming the morning time and temperature for the heating
system:
• Press the HEAT/OFF/COOL key to ‘Heat’.

• Press the DAY key until the day that you want to program is displayed.
• Press the WAKE key. This will allow you to set the time you want the
system to start up in the morning.
• Press the ARROWS ▲▼ until the desired ‘switching’ time is displayed.
Note: Time setting is in 15 minute increments.
Next, set the temperature that you want the system to maintain by pressing the
‘UP/DOWN’ arrows next to the display screen.
• Press the LEAVE key and repeat the steps above to set the time and
temperature for the Daytime period.
E.g. After you ‘leave’ for work, while you’re out.
• Repeat the above steps with RETURN & SLEEP.

• Once all the time periods for the first day have been set, press the DAY
key to select the next day that you want to program, then repeat the steps
above for each day of the week.
• When all the days are programmed press the RUN PROGRAM key to save
the settings.

CHANGING THE TEMPERATURE TEMPORARILY
• Move the SYSTEM switch to ‘HEAT’.

• Press the ‘UP/DOWN’ arrows ▲▼ next to the display screen to set
the desired temperature
• The temporary temperature will be displayed for 3 seconds before
returning to the original display. ‘Temporary’ will appear on the
display.
• The temporary setting is cancelled when the next period starts or by
pressing the RUN PROGRAM key.
CHANGING THE TEMPERATURE INDEFINITELY

• If you want to suspend the entire program for hours, days or weeks,
press the HOLD TEMP key, the use the ‘UP/DOWN’ arrows ▲▼ next to
the display screen to set the required temperature. The system will now
hold the set temperature for as long as needed.
• After 3 seconds the display changes to the room temperature.
• To cancel the ‘Hold’ press the RUN PROGRAM key.
CHANGING THE TEMPERATURE SETTING OF A DESIGNATED DAY AND TIME

PERIOD

• Press the HOLD TEMP key twice. Use the TIME arrows to select the
desired number of days to hold the temperature eg. Selecting 10, then
‘HOLD’ will override the preset daily program for 10 days.
• Press the WAKE, LEAVE, RETURN OR SLEEP key to select the ‘Time
Period’ when the ‘HOLD’ will end and your previous settings will
restart eg. By pressing RETURN key the controller will stop the ‘HOLD’
at the evening period start time.
• Press ‘UP/DOWN’ arrows ▲▼ next to the display screen to adjust the
temperature setting.
• To cancel the ‘Hold’ press the RUN PROGRAM key.

REMOVING THE AUTOMATIC PROGRAM
• Press the WAKE key and then press the COOLER key until the
temperature is 4.5 °c
• Press the LEAVE key and keep holding it down until the time and
• Press the RETURN key and keep holding it down until the time and
• Press the SLEEP key and keep holding it down until the time and
• Repeat this step for each day by pressing the DAY key followed by the
above keys.
• Press the RUN PROGRAM key to save the changes.
The unit will now run manually. Refer to the “Manual operation’ section.
FAN ONLY OPERATION
To run the fan continuously set the FAN switch to the ON position.

REPLACING THE BATTERIES
The programmable wall controller is powered by 3 AA alkaline batteries.
When the REPL BAT message appears on the screen, replace the batteries by
removing the Wall Control from its backing plate. Loosen the Controller
from the bottom edge first then lever it off from its base plate. To put it back
on after replacing batteries, put the top of the control in first then lever it down
until firmly clicked into position.
Note: If you replace batteries within 20 to 30 seconds of removing the old

ones, you will not have to reset current time. The pre-programmed settings
will not be lost regardless of the period of time the batteries are removed for.

VIEW OR RESET THE FILTER MESSAGE
When the thermostat activates a timer, the thermostat flashes Filter until the
timer resets.
• Reset the timer by pressing the i key until the expired timer is
displayed. i.e. 0 DAYS AIR
• Press the TIME up key to reset the timer. 30 DAYS AIR.
• Press the RUN PROGRAM key.
Note: You can view the number of days remaining at any time by pressing the
i key three or four times. If more than one timer is active, all active timers
show sequentially when pressing the i key several times.
The other timers are for Humidifier Pad an Ultraviolet (UV) Lamp.
REMOVING THE FILTER MESSAGE PERMANENTLY
The filter message appears to remind the customer that the return air filter
needs to be cleaned. This message can be removed permanently.
• Press & hold all three buttons located to the RHS of the LCD. All of the
screen icons will temporarily appear followed by a two digit code
(usually 4 6). Once this code appears release the three buttons.
• Press the TIME down arrow (which is located on the main keypad) until
the screen shows 43 on the LHS (parameter) and 2 on the RHS
(parameter value), then use the up or down arrow next to the LCD to
change the parameter value to '0'.
• Press the RUN PROGRAM Key to return to normal.

The programmable wall control needs to have the time set to operate it.
GETTING STARTED
• Begin by pressing the SET DAY/TIME button.

• Press the DAY button until the current day is displayed.
• Press the TIME UP/DOWN arrows to set the time. (pressing the SET
DAY/TIME button will change time in 1hr increments)
• Press the START PROGRAM button to save.
OPERATING THE FAN
• Set the FAN switch to the AUTO position, by pressing the FAN button. (In
Auto mode the fan is controlled by the heater and will only operate to
maintain the selected temperature).
• Setting the FAN switch to ON will run the fan continuously.

OPERATING THE HEATER
• Press the MODE key to select HEAT, the wall control operates the heating
system.
• When mode is in COOL the wall control operates the add on cooling
system (where fitted).
• To turn the unit off set the mode to OFF.
• When pressing the mode button the wall control will scroll through the
options HEAT, OFF, COOL.
PROGRAMMING THE HEATER
The heater can be programmed to turn on or off during the time periods of the
day MORNING, DAYTIME, EVENING AND NIGHT. For each period of the day
there are programmed settings that can be altered temporarily or permanently.
PROGRAMMING THE FIRST DAY
1. Press the MODE button until heat appears for heating unit or cool for add
on cooling.
2. Press SET PROGRAM button until WAKE is displayed.
3. Press DAY button until the day you want to program is displayed.
4. Press TIME arrows until the required time is displayed. (time setting is in
15min increments).
5. Next set the temperature that you want the system to maintain by
pressing the up/down arrows below the screen display.
6. Press the SET PROGRAM button to display LEAVE and repeat the steps
above to set the time and temp.
7. Repeat for all time periods.
8. Once all time periods for the first day have been entered press the DAY
button to select the next day you want to set.
9. Repeat for each day of the week.
When all the days are programmed press START PROGRAM to save the
settings.

COPYING A DAY
The wall control must be in the program mode to use the copy feature. Go to
step 2 if already in program mode.
1. Press SET PROGRAM till WAKE is displayed.

2. Press DAY to select the day to copied. (if different from the day selected)
3. Press COPY PROGRAM. (DONE will be displayed for 2 sec before
returning to normal display)
4. Repeat steps 2-5 for all the days desired.
5. Press START PROGRAM to save.
MANUAL OPERATION
Changing the temperature temporarily.
1. Press the MODE button to select heat or cool.

2. Press the up/down arrows to set the desired temperature.
The temporary temperature will be displayed for 3 sec before returning to

normal display. Temporary Setting will appear on the display. The temporary
setting is cancelled when the next period starts or by pressing START
PROGRAM.
Changing the Temperature indefinitely.
1. Press the MODE button to select heat or cool.

2. Press the MAINTAIN TEMP button.
3. Press the up/down arrows to select the desired temp.
The system will now hold the selected temperature for as long as needed.
After 3 sec the display will return to normal. To cancel press START
PROGRAM.

Changing the temperature setting until a designated day and time period.
Press the MODE button to select heat or cool.

1. Press the MAINTAIN TEMP button twice. Use the TIME arrows to select
the number of days to hold the temperature.
2. Press SET PROGRAM button to select the time period when the hold will
end and the previous settings will resume.
3. Press the up/down arrows to adjust the temperature setting.
Pressing the START PROGRAM button will return to the previous settings.
BATTERIES
The programmable wall control is powered by 3 alkaline batteries. When the

REPL BAT message appears on the screen replace the batteries by removing
the wall control from its backing plate. Pull the controller from the top then
lever it off form the base plate. To put it back on after replacing the batteries
put the bottom of the controller in first then lever it up until it firmly clicks
into place.
If you replace the batteries within 20 to 30 seconds of removing the old ones
you will not need to reset the time. The pre programmed settings will not be
lost regardless of the amount of time without batteries.
RESETTING
1. Press the Mode button to the off position, to turn the unit off. Wait 2
mins before turning to the heat position.
2. Press the up/down arrows to select the desired temperature.

SETTING THE TIME AND DAY
• Press the SET button, then press the UP and DOWN arrows to set the time.
• Press the SET button, then press the UP and DOWN arrows to set the
correct day of the week.
• Press RUN to save.
SYSTEM SWITCH
Switches between heating and cooling depending on which unit is selected.
• COOL: cooling system is in use.

• OFF: all systems are off.
• HEAT: heating system is in use.
FAN SWITCH
Set the fan switch to AUTO or ON.
In AUTO MODE the fan runs only when the heating or cooling system is on.
If set to ON, the fan will run continuously. Use this setting for improved air
circulation.

PROGRAM SCHEDULE
You can program four time periods each day, with different settings for
weekdays and weekends.
The WAKE setting is used to start the system and pre-warm the house before
everyone gets up.
The LEAVE setting can turn it off when the family has left for the day.
RETURN is then used to switch the system back on again just before everyone
gets home.
SLEEP can turn it off after they are all asleep.
ADJUSTING THE PROGRAM SCHEDULE
• Press SET until set schedule is displayed.

• Press the UP and DOWN arrows to set your weekday wake time (Mon –
Fri), then press SET.
• Press the UP and DOWN arrows to set the temperature for this time
period, then press SET.
• Set the time and temperature for the next time period (leave). Repeat
steps 2 and 3 for each weekday time period.
• Press SET to set the weekend time periods (Sat – Sun).
• Press RUN to save and exit.
Note: make sure the thermostat is set to the system you want to use. (heat or
cool)
Note: to cancel an unwanted time period (except wake), press and hold the up
arrow for 4 seconds while in set schedule mode.

PROGRAM SCHEDULE OVERRIDE (TEMPORARY)
Press the UP and DOWN arrows to immediately adjust the temperature, this
will temporarily override the temperature setting for the current time period.
The new temperature will be maintained only until the next programmed time
period begins.
To cancel the temporary override at any time press RUN.
PROGRAM SCHEDULE OVERRIDE (PERMANENT)
Press HOLD to permanently adjust the temperature. This will override the
temperature settings for all time periods.
The hold feature turns OFF the program schedule and allows you to adjust the
thermostat manually.
Whatever temperature is set will be maintained 24hrs a day until you

manually change it or press RUN to cancel hold and resume the program
schedule.
ADAPTIVE INTELLIGENT RECOVERY (AIR)
Allows the thermostat to learn how long your heater or air conditioner takes to
reach the set temperature. The thermostat turns the unit on at the right time to
reach the desired temperature setting at the scheduled time.
E.g. if the wake time is set for 6am and the temperature at 21. The unit will
turn on before 6am to ensure that the temperature is at 21 by 6am.

TURNING ADAPTIVE INTELLIGENT RECOVERY OFF
• Press and hold the UP & DOWN arrows together until screen
changes.
Display will appear as shown below.
• Press the UP arrow 5 times until the screen displays the number 13
on the left side of the screen and 1 on the right.
• Press the DOWN arrow to change the number 1 on the right of the
screen to a 0.
• Press the RUN key to return to normal screen.
Adaptive Intelligent Recovery has now been removed.

BATTERY REPLACEMENT
Batteries are optional (for backup power) if the thermostat was wired to run
on AC power when installed.
Install fresh batteries when the REPLACE BATT warning begins to flash. The
warning flashes about two months before the batteries are depleted.
If the batteries are inserted within one minute, the time and day will not have
to be reset. All other settings are permanently stored in memory and do not
require battery power.
• Pull at bottom to remove from wall plate.

• Turn thermostat over, remove batteries, insert AA alkaline batteries then
reinstall thermostat.

The Networker can operate in either auto or manual modes. In auto mode, you
set your own temperature, then leave the rest to the Networker. It will
maintain the level you have chosen, automatically.
The Networker also allows you to preset times to turn the heater on and off.
This means that it can turn the heater off after you've gone to sleep, and on
before you get home. The Networker can also be used to operate a cooler or
add on refrigeration during warmer weather.
Note: The Networker runs using a small amount of power from the heater. It
does not require batteries.
SETTING THE DAY AND TIME
To set the Time and/or Day the Networker must be turned OFF.
• Press the ON/OFF button to turn the Networker OFF.

• Press the key next to the word Clock on the screen and the digital clock
will start flashing.
• Use the ROTARY DIAL to select the correct time.
To set the Day press the key next to the word Day on the screen until the
correct day of the week appears.
• Press the key next to the word Clock again to save the changes.

THE AUTO PROGRAM
In Automatic, the Networker has a pre-set "Auto-Program" which is already

entered into the Networker's memory (see below)
This "Auto-Program" covers the entire week. It is based on average operation

and has the following combination of pre-programmed time periods,
temperatures and, if available, zone dampers:
The Periods are WAKE, LEAVE, RETURN, PRESLEEP & SLEEP.
The "WAKE" setting is usually used to start the system and pre-warm the
house before everyone gets up.
The "LEAVE" setting can turn it off, when the family has left for the day.
The "RETURN" setting is then used to switch the system back on again just
before everyone gets home.
The "PRESLEEP" setting can be used to slightly increase, or decrease the set
temperature, at the same time every night. Or if you have zone dampers,
"PRESLEEP" can be used to switch them ON or OFF.
E.g. to pre-warm the bedrooms before going to sleep
The "SLEEP" setting can turn it off after everyone is asleep. It is

recommended that the system be set to turn OFF (- -) overnight, to save energy
and lower gas bills.

OPERATING THE AUTO PROGRAM
If you are happy with the pre-set "Auto-Program" settings, then all you need
to do is to run the system in automatic.
If you have more than one type of appliance, then with the Networker turned
OFF, just press the MODE control key until it selects "Heater".
Turn the Networker ON and press the AUTO key until "Auto-Program" appears
near the bottom left-hand corner of the screen.
OVERRIDING THE AUTO PROGRAM SETTINGS
If you want to temporarily override the Auto-Program settings, the Networker

provides two ways of doing this. Both of these changes are temporary, so the
word "Temporary" will flash while they are operating.
The first method is to press the key that has the word "ADV.PERIOD" next to it
on the screen, and jump into the next "Auto-Program" period immediately.
E.g. if you come home earlier than usual, use this to move out of "Leave" and
into "Return".
Whenever you do this, the screen changes to read "CANCEL/ADV.PERIOD" so

pressing the key beside it will take you back to the period you were in.
The Networker will return to its Auto-Program as soon as it reaches the next
period.
The second method is to use the ROTARY DIAL and increase or decrease the
current temperature setting.
With this method, the word "Adv.Period" will change to "Cancel" on the
screen. Pressing the key beside it will return you to the Auto-Program.Note:
for those with zone dampers, altering the zone setting will also result in a
"Temporary" change.

CHANGING THE AUTO PROGRAM SETTINGS
If your lifestyle doesn't match the pre-set Auto Program,

those settings can be changed, you can change the time or
the temperature for any period in four simple steps.
The first will take you into programming mode. If you are
not already in heating mode, press the MODE key until the
word "Heater" appears.
Then press the PROG key and you'll notice the word "program" and the time
will begin to flash.
SELECTING THE DAYS TO BE CHANGED
For your convenience, the Networker combines all the weekdays into one
block and both days of the weekend into another block.
• Press the key next to the word DAY on the screen to select which block
you wish to program.
On the left of the screen, the weekdays are listed as a block. Just below them
will be the weekend block.
SELECTING THE PERIOD TO BE CHANGED
• Press the key next to the word PERIOD on the screen to select the
period you wish to change.
It starts with the Wake period so the word "Wake" appears on the left of the
screen. Each time the key is pressed the program will move to the next period
and its title will appear in the same part of the screen.
From here, you can change either the Set Time or the Set Temperature, or the
zone dampers for a particular period.

CHANGING THE SET TEMPERATURE
Start by pressing the key next to the word TIME/TEMP on the screen to select
"Tempo". You'll know you have selected it when the Set Temperature starts
to flash.
To change the temperatures turn the ROTARY DIAL until the "Set
Temperature” displays the temperature you require.
Note that selecting a set temperature of (- -) will turn the heater OFF for that
period.
CHANGING THE SET TIME
Press the key next to the word TIME/TEMP on the screen to switch between
Set Time and Set Temperature. You'll know you have selected Time when the
time begins to flash.
Turn the ROTARY DIAL until the digital clock is showing the time you require.
CHANGING THE ZONE DAMPER PROGRAM
The last two keys (4 & 5) are for zone dampers if you have them. If you have
zones, A & B will appear next to the 4th key. Zones C & D will appear next to
the 5th key.
If you wish to change the zone damper settings for any period, use those keys
to select the zones you want to operate.
CHANGING FROM GROUP TO INDIVIDUAL DAYS
• Turn the networker OFF.

• Press the 5TH key (clock).
• Press the 4TH key.
• Press the 1ST key. The screen will flash to indicate the current setting.
• Press the ON/OFF button to save the changes.

When the system is operating, the screen displays information that tells you
what is happening.
There is a thermostat in the middle of the screen which displays the current
room temperature.
Above the thermostat the set temperature is displayed, in the top right corner
the room temperature is shown.
A marker along the side of the thermostat shows the set temperature.
A small flame symbol appears on the screen whenever the heater is turned on .
A fan symbol flashes as the system is pre heating. It stops flashing and begins
to rotate when the air starts flowing through the vents.

• Turn the Networker OFF.
• Press the MODE key to select heater.
• Press the key next to the word fan and a small rotating fan and column
display, that indicate the fan’s speed appears.

Note: if fan does not appear on the screen when the Networker is turned off, this is because it has not
been programmed by the installer. Refer to the zoning section in NETWORKER NC-2

The screen will stay illuminated for approx 30 seconds.

SETTING THE PIN NUMBERS
The user can alter the pin numbers to a familiar number that is easily recalled.
The pin numbers can only be altered from the MASTER NETWORKER, the
Slave Networker can only lock and unlock the system and cannot access the
pin numbers at all. Each pin number contains 4 digits and is entered by
pressing keys 1-5.
• Push the FN (Function) button then key 2. The screen will then
display “Enter Your Pin number to lock the system”.
Do not enter any numbers at this stage, continue to next step.
• Push the MODE key once. The screen will now display “User pin
number reset—Enter master pin number”.
Do not enter any numbers at this stage, continue to next step.
• Push the MODE key once again. The screen will now say “User pin
number 1 alteration—Enter current pin”. If this is the first time for
setting the pin numbers, the current pin will be “1111”. If the pin
number has already been altered previously then enter the current user
pin. After entering the current pin the screen will then say, “Enter the
new pin”.
• Enter your new 4-digit pin number using a combination of keys 1–5. The
screen will now say, “Repeat the entry of the new pin”.
• Providing you re-enter your new pin correctly the screen will now say
“Valid pin—Pin altered”.

Repeat this process to change the other pins if necessary. Remembering that
all pins are set as “1111” by default. User pin numbers 2 & 3 can be set by
pushing the MODE key, while you’re at the user pin 1 alteration screen.
To exit this area at any time, just push the ON/OFF key.
TO LOCK THE NETWORKER
• Push the FN button then key 2. The screen will then display “enter
your pin number to lock the system”.
• Enter your user pin to lock the networker. The screen will now
display system locked out.
Note: if an incorrect pin number is entered press the AUTO key to clear, and
then re enter the pin number.
TO UNLOCK THE NETWORKER
• Push the FN (Function) button then key 2. The screen will then
display “Enter Your Pin number to unlock the system”.
• Enter your user pin number to unlock the Networker. The screen will
now say “System unlocked!”
Note: If an incorrect number is entered press the AUTO key to clear all, then
re-enter the pin number.
RESETTING THE PIN NUMBER
If you have forgotten or misplaced the user pin numbers, you can reset all the
pin numbers to the default setting of “1111”. The user pin numbers can only
be reset from the MASTER NETWORKER, the SLAVE NETWORKER can only
lock and unlock the system and cannot access the pin numbers. Resetting the
user pin numbers to the factory default of “1111” is done by entering the
Master pin number “4919”. This master pin number is only used to restore all
of the user pin numbers to the factory default.
Note: The PROG key represents the number 9 in the Pin number. So the key
sequence is actually - KEY 4 -PROG – KEY 1 – PROG

“Enter Your Pin number to lock the system”.
• Push the MODE key once. The screen will now display “User pin

COMPLETE NETWORKER RESETTING – HALING MASTER/BLOCKS ON SCREEN
If the Networker has become inaccessible or has locked out for some reason,
the networkers can be completely reset. This resetting procedure will clear all
of the daily programs, zoning parameters and the Master/Slave Networker
addresses. All settings should be noted down so they can be reprogrammed
after the reset. Only the Master Networker should need to be reset as this is
where all the information is stored, although the Slave can also be reset if
required.
• Remove the Networker from the backing plate so that the controller is
powered down.
• Press and hold keys 1 & 3, then place the Networker on the backing
plate ensuring keys 1 & 3 are still depressed, continue holding keys 1 &
3 for five seconds after the control is placed on the backing plate.
• After holding keys 1 & 3 for five seconds, release the two keys. The lcd
should show all of the symbols followed by the message “Set this
Networker’s address!” If this message did not appear please repeat the
resetting procedure.
• After the message has finished, the screen should look like this. Now the
parameter value for setting Master and Slave addresses can be set.

INSTALLER PARAMETERS
The installer set up programming mode provides access to program zoning, to

change the id number for evaporative coolers, and to view the installer
settings for the heater. E.g. fan speed.

HEATER
The heater parameters are set at the heaters electronic control module (lo
module – mps, ng-2 – Starpro). Below are the heater settings table.
H01 ID01: HEATER FAN OPERATION

The RPM the fan is set to run at for normal
heating. It can be adjusted between 1500 and 500.
H01 ID02: ECON FAN OPERATION (H01 ID03 ON STARPRO UNITS)

This is the minimum RPM the fan will run with the
maximum outlets closed. It can be adjusted between
500 and 1500. 950 is the recommended setting.

H01 ID03: COOLING FAN OPERATION (H01 ID02 ON STARPRO UNITS)

This is the RPM the fan is to run at for
normal refrigerative cooling. It can be
adjusted between 1500 and 500.
H01 ID04: HEATER ID NUMBER

This parameter is used to identify each heater
when more than one heater is connected to
the system. Do not alter unless multiple
heaters are installed.
H01 ID05: CIRCULATION FAN OPERATION
This is the RPM of the fan for fan only

mode. This operation is activated from the
networker control parameter No. 43
H01 ID06: SUPPLY AIR THERMISTOR SET POINT TEMP

This displays the temp the gas valve will
modulate to maintain. The default will
vary across the different models. It can be
adjusted between 56ºc and 75ºc.
H01 ID07: NETWORK 506 MODULE

This is the selection mode for 506 operation it can
be set to switch zone motors, add on cooling, an
electronic air filter or humidifier

EVAPORATIVE COOLER
E01 ID07: COOLER IDENTIFICATION NUMBER
This parameter is used to identify each

cooler when more than one cooler is
connected to the system. Do not alter
unless multiple coolers are installed.
E01 ID14: FLUSH COUNT
This is the number of refills the cooler will
do before a flush is needed. Range 0-20.
Reduce number to increase flushing
frequency. (Contours & Promina’s only)
E01 ID22: DUMP CHECK

This parameter is used to test dumping
operation. Set to 1, to perform instant
dump check. Do not leave this set on 1 as
it will affect the unit start times.
ADD ON REFRIGE
This parameter is not used. Press the mode button to continue to the next
parameter setting.
ZONING
Please refer to the zoning section of this manual for detailed information on
setting up zone parameters.

The Manual Controller allows you to turn on the pump or fan or both and
gives you control of the fan speed. The Manual Controller does not have any
auto functions and therefore requires you to adjust the fan speed as the
temperature increases.
Note: No batteries are required.
GETTING STARTED
• Turn the COOL switch ON. This will operate the pump.
• PRE-WET the filter pads by turning ON the COOL switch for 5-10
minutes before switching the fan ON. This will provide maximum
cooling immediately when the fan is switched ON.
• Turn the FAN switch ON.
• ROTATE the fan speed dial to the airflow level you desire.
Note: On days of high humidity the fan may be operated without the pump.
For ventilation only, operate the Cooler in Manual Mode with the pump
turned OFF.

PROGRAMMABLE TEK425
The Programmable Controller can operate in either auto or manual modes. In

auto mode, you set your own comfort level, then leave the rest to the
controller. You can also preset times to turn the cooler on or off.
When the Cooler is turned on with both the fan and pump, in either Auto or
Manual mode the cooler will start a Pre-Wet automatically.
The Pre-Wet stage ensures the pads are thoroughly wet before the fan starts.
This contributes to the effective operation and performance of the Cooler.
The Pre-Wet time will vary depending on how long the Cooler has been OFF,
and whether it needs to fill the tank prior to operation.

AUTO PROGRAM
In Auto mode the Programmable Wall Control automatically operates the
Cooler (fan speed and pump) to maintain a selected ‘comfort level’.
Press the ON/OFF button to turn the unit ON. A function light should
illuminate.
If the AUTO COOL light is illuminated, the system is set for Automatic
operation, otherwise:
• Press the AUTO COOL button to select ‘Auto’ mode, and then rotate the
dial to set the comfort level you require.
USING THE TIMER

This Wall Control has a timer function that can delay the operation of the
On/Off button. If the Cooler is operating you can pre-set either a 2, 4 or 8
hour timer for the Cooler to turn OFF. If the Cooler is turned OFF you can
pre-set either a 2, 4 or 8 hour timer for the Cooler to turn ON.
Simply press the Timer button to select the length of the delay:
• Press once for a 2 hour delay.

• Press twice for a 4 hour delay.
• Press three times for a 8 hour delay.
When the Timer turns the Cooler ON, it returns to the settings it had when it
last operated. To check or adjust these settings:
• Turn the Wall Control back to ON, make any adjustments (if necessary)
then turn the Wall Control OFF and reset the Timer.

pump.
Press the ON/OFF button to turn the unit ON.
When the AUTO COOL light is not illuminated, the system is set for Automatic

• To manually operate the fan, press the FAN button. The fan light will
illuminate.
Note: The fan light will flash during the Pre-Wet period.
• Adjust the fan speed using the ROTARY DIAL.

• To manually operate the pump, press the PUMP button. The pump light
will illuminate.
For ventilation only, operate the Cooler in Manual Mode with the pump
turned OFF.
Note: The Wall Control will remember previously established settings in

AUTO and MANUAL mode.

In AUTO mode the Programmable Wall Control automatically operates the

cooler may even turn OFF if the conditions meet the comfort level setting.
Begin by pressing the ON/OFF key to turn the unit on. If the Auto light is
illuminated, the system is set for Automatic operation otherwise:
• Press the MODE key to cycle through the unit’s operating modes, until
the Auto light is illuminated.
• Push the UP and DOWN key to select the comfort level you require.
The lower the number, the cooler the setting. The higher the number, the
warmer the setting.
MANUAL OPERATION
Manual operation requires you to manually control the fan, its speed and the
pump.
Press the ON/OFF key to turn the unit on. For manual operation the AUTO
light must not be illuminated.
• Push the MODE key to cycle through the cooler’s operating modes.
FAN AND PUMP ONLY
This is indicated by the illuminated Fan and Pump lights. The screen will
then display a number, which indicates the cooler fan speed.
• Push the UP and DOWN keys to raise and lower the cooler’s fan speed.
Note: The fan light will flash during the Pre-Wet period.

This is indicated by the illuminated FAN light. The screen will then display a
number, which indicates the cooler fan speed.
• Push the UP and DOWN keys to raise and lower the coolers fan speed.
For ventilation only, operate the cooler in this mode.
PUMP ONLY
This is indicated by the illuminated PUMP light. Only the pump will run in
this mode, and no air will be circulating.
USING THE TIMER
This wall control has a timer function that can delay the operation of the
ON/OFF key. If the cooler is operating, you can pre-set a timer for the cooler
to turn OFF. If the cooler is off you can pre-set a timer for the cooler to turn
ON. The timer is set in 1 hour increments, ranging from 1 to 12 hours.
When setting the timer to turn the cooler on, the wall control returns to the
settings it had when it last operated. To check or adjust these settings turn the
wall control on, make any adjustments, if necessary, then turn the wall control
off and set the Timer.
When setting the timer to turn the cooler off, have the cooler running at your
desired settings and set the timer.
SETTING THE TIMER
• Press the TIMER key to enter the timer setting mode. The timer light
will now be flashing and the screen will display a number.
• Push the UP and DOWN keys to set the delay in hours. The timer delay
can only be adjusted while the timer light is flashing.
• To cancel the timer push the TIMER key twice or push the ON/OFF key.
• After the timer has been set, leave the controller for 5 seconds until the
timer light stops flashing.

BENEFITS OF USING AUTO MODE IN PREFERENCE TO MANUAL MODE
• Power and water consumption varies in relation to the chosen comfort

level. This comfort level cannot be as easily maintained in manual
mode.
• The unit operates only when it is required.
• Enables a set comfort level to be maintained automatically as the
outdoor temperature conditions change.
• Allows you to pre-set the cooler to turn ON early and not let the house
build up heat.
• The outlet airflow noise is kept to a minimum, as the fan speed is only as
fast as required to maintain the set comfort level. This slower speed also
results in more efficient saturation of the cooler filter pads, and a cooler
outlet air temperature.

Move the switch marked HEAT OFF COOL to "Cool" and make sure the FAN
switch is in "Auto". Normally, the display shows the current room
temperature.
The system however, works to maintain a SET TEMPERATURE and pressing

the PRESENT SETTING key will display that Set Temperature.
If the current room temperature is higher than the Set Temperature, the add on
air conditioner will operate to maintain the Set Temperature.
Of course, if the current room temperature is lower than the Set Temperature,
the add on air conditioner will not switch on until it falls below that Set
Temperature.

Heating section of this manual.

The Pre-Wet stage ensures the pads are thoroughly wet before the fan starts.
This prevents warm air being initially blown into the home and contributes to
the effective operation and performance of the Cooler.
The Pre-Wet time will varying depending on how long the Cooler has been
OFF, and whether it needs to fill the tank prior to operation.
AUTO MODE
In auto mode the networker automatically turns the pump on or off as required
and varies the fan speed to maintain the selected comfort level.
• Use the ON/OFF button to turn the Networker ON.

• Press the AUTO key until ‘Auto’ appears on the screen (if it is not
already in ‘Auto’).
• The Set Comfort Level Indicator in the middle of the screen indicates the
cooler’s current comfort level setting.
• Use the ROTARY DIAL to set the Comfort Level you desire.
• Turn the indicator down to have a cooler comfort level and up to have a
warmer comfort level.
Note: In Auto mode the word ‘Pump’ will disappear after the Pre-Wet time is
complete as the fan symbol begins to rotate. This does not mean that the
pump has stopped operating.

MANUAL OPERATION
Manual operation enables you to control the fan, its speed and the pump
manually.

• Press the AUTO key to select ‘Manual’.
• Pres both the FAN and PUMP keys (1 and 2). Two black indicators will
appear next to these keys to indicate that the Fan and Pump are turned
on.
Note: The Fan will not operate immediately as the Cooler must first complete
its Automatic Pre-Wet.
• Use the ROTARY DIAL to set the fan speed level you desire.
Note: The central column display is now a Fan Speed Indicator and will show
the fan speed level you have selected. This column display moved up to
increase the fan speed and down to decrease it.
Note: On days of high humidity the fan should be operated without the pump.
• If you want ventilation only, press the PUMP key (key 2) to turn the
pump off. The pump indicator will now disappear.
USING THE TIMER
When the Cooler is operating you can pre-set a time for the Timer to turn the
Cooler OFF. Also, when the Cooler is turned OFF, you can select a time for
the Timer to turn it ON automatically. So if you are out all day you can set the
Cooler to come on and cool the house before you return.
Note: To use the timer function you need to set the time and day.

NC-1 & NC-2
SETTING THE COOLER TO TURN ITSELF ON.
Remember when the Timer turns the Cooler ON, it will operate with the same
settings it had the last time it was used. If you want the settings to be
different, just turn the Cooler ON, change the settings and turn it OFF again.
Now you can begin to program the Timer.
• Press the PROG key and the display will flash the ON Timer and the
word PROGRAM.
• Use the ROTARY DIAL to set the ON TIME i.e. The time you want the
Cooler to come on.
• Note that Key 3 is now the ON TIME key. Press it to activate the
function.
• Press the PROG key to exit and save your setting.
• The ON TIME key remains displayed (press it to cancel the setting).
SETTING THE COOLER TO TURN ITSELF OFF
• If the Cooler is ON and you want to set a time for it to turn OFF, the
steps are almost the same.
• Press the PROG key and the display will flash the OFF TIME and the
word PROGRAM.
• Use the ROTARY DIAL to set the OFF TIME ie. The time you want the
Cooler to turn off.
• Note that Key 3 is now the OFF TIME key. Press it to activate the
function.
• Press the PROG key to exit and save your setting.
• The OFF TIME key remains displayed (press it to cancel the setting).

CHECKING YOUR TIMER SETTINGS
Once the Timer Settings are made you can review or cancel them in a number
of ways.
• The word ON TIME or OFF TIME will remain on the screen to show that
the Networker is now holding your pre-set on or off time.
• If you want to check what you’ve done, just press PROG again and the
pre-set time will flash.
• If you change your mind and want to cancel the setting, press the ON
TIME/OFF TIME key (Key 3) again.
• Pressing the ON/OFF switch at any time during or after this process will
cancel the Timer settings.
Note: The Networker runs using a small amount of power from the cooler. It
does not require batteries.

DUAL NETWORKERS
For dual Networker operation the two networkers must be configured as a

master or a slave. The networkers should never be configured as both masters
or both slaves as the system will malfunction. Because all networkers come
set as masters by default, only the Networker that is to operate as slave needs
to be configured.
• Connect both networkers to the appliance and power the system up.
At this stage both networkers will be set as masters, so both
networkers should have the word "clock" next to the KEY 5 button
while in the OFF position.
Note: that the system should not be operated in this state, as there
will be communication errors.
• Determine which Networker is required to operate as a slave.
• Remove the NETWORKER to be configured as a slave off the backing

plate so that the controller is powered down.
• Press and hold the KEY 3 & KEY 4 buttons simultaneously and place
the Networker on the backing plate ensuring that the KEY 3 & KEY 4
buttons are still depressed.
• Continue holding the KEY 3 & KEY 4 buttons for five seconds after
the control is placed on the backing plate.
• Release the two buttons at which point all display segments should be
highlighted momentarily. If this is not the case please repeat the
resetting procedure.

• The screen should now scroll this message “Set this Networker’s
address!”
• After the message has finished, the text on the display screen should
appear as “n00 ID00:0”.
Note: that the appliance identifier is zero as the address of the unit
has been cleared and as a result not defined yet.
• Rotate the ROTARY DIAL to change the parameter value (displayed at

the top right of screen) to the number required (MASTER = 1, SLAVE =
2).
• Once the parameter value has been set press the ON/OFF button to
save the setting and exit.
At this point the Networker that has bee nominated as a slave should be
operating as a slave. The missing “Clock” label adjacent to the KEY 5
button can confirm this.
Note: all networkers come configured as masters by default. Two masters

cannot be connected to one system otherwise the system will not function
properly. Similarly if both networkers are set as slaves, the networkers will
lock out and will not be accessible. If this has been done, the resetting
procedure needs to be performed again to rectify this problem.
INSTALLER SETUP
The Installer Setup mode provides access to what are known as installer
parameters, which allow:
• CHANGING ID NUMBERS OF APPLIANCES ATTACHED TO THE SYSTEM.

• SYSTEM CONFIGURATION.
• GENERAL CONTROL CONFIGURATION.
• ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL CONFIGURATION.

TO ACCESS THE INSTALLER PARAMETERS:

If the Installer Setup mode is operating correctly the top of the display should
revert to displaying the text: “R01 ID01:1”
The MODE button can be used to cycle through the attached appliances in the
system. The letter in the top left hand corner of the screen indicates the
appliance type with the number adjacent to this letter representing the unit
number when multiple units are installed within the system, for example.
R01: REVERSE-CYCLE AIR-CONDITIONER APPLIANCE NUMBER 1.

N01: NETWORKER WALL CONTROL NUMBER 1 (MASTER).
N02: NETWORKER WALL CONTROL NUMBER 2 (SLAVE).
All parameters associated with an appliance have a unique identification

number indicated by the letters – “ID”. The actual value of the parameter
follows the colon.
To cycle through the available parameters press the KEY 1 button to select the
next available parameter and the KEY 2 button to select the previous available
parameter. To alter the selected parameter value, simply rotate the ROTARY
DIAL.
With the Networker now in the Installer Setup Programming mode of

operation various system parameters can be accessed and altered accordingly.
On completion, press the ON/OFF button to save your changes and exit.

SYSTEM CONFIGURATION
The Networker comes pre-configured to control a system with one Networker
(Master) and one reverse-cycle air-conditioner appliance with an address of 1.
Within the Networker parameters exist to configure the system for zoning,
however this release of the Networker does not provide the functionality for
this type of system. As a result the system configuration parameters outlined
in the table below should NOT be altered and left as shown.
They are listed here for reference only.

GENERAL CONFIGURATION
General-purpose configuration parameters within the Networker allow such

actions as:
• Enabling/disabling independent indoor fan operating while the system

is switched on to heat/cool.
• Enabling/disabling variable speed indoor fan operation, where
applicable.
• Enabling/disabling the displaying of the defrost message when the
attached appliance is undergoing a defrost action.
• Enabling/disabling the displaying of the filter change status indicators
and message when the attached appliance requires a filter change.
These parameters are basically an ENABLE/DISABLE function where the

ENABLE function is represented by the value 1 and the Disable function by the
value 0.

This is the minimum time the unit must be switched on to heat after the unit
has been switched on for heating.
Possible values: 0 – 240; Default value: 18 (3 minutes).

This timing limits the number of times the unit can start. For example at the
default of 15 minutes the unit is restricted to four heating cycles per hour.

You must set the time and date before you can use any of the thermostat’s
programming features.
SETTING THE DATE & TIME
• Press the SET button. The screen will display the word clock on the left
and the time on the bottom.
• To set the hour, press the button under the hour, then press the up or
down button on the right.
• To set the minutes, press the button under the minutes, then press the up
or down button on the right.
• To set the date press the SET button until the screen displays the word
calendar and the date on the bottom of the screen.
• To set the month press the button under the letter M, then press the up or
down button.
• To set the day of the month press the button under the letter D, then
press the up or down button.
• To set the year press the button under the letter Y, then press the up or
down button.
The thermostat is installed with pre set heating and cooling temperature
settings. These can be changed to suit your own personal requirements. You
can also temporarily change the temperature after you have programmed the
thermostat.
SETTING OR CHANGING THE SET TEMPERATURE
You will see an arrow next to the word heat or cool in the upper right hand
corner of the screen, depending on the mode you are in. the pre programmed
setting is displayed in a box at the bottom of the screen.
• To change the displayed temperature, press the UP or DOWN button.
• To change the other temperature press the MODE button above the
screen. The arrow will move to the word heat or cool the temperature
will show in a box in the lower right corner.
• Press the UP or DOWN button, located to the right of the display, to
change the setting.
The thermostat will hold these changes for two hours or until the next
programmed cycle begins.

To change the amount of time the temperature is on hold, press the button
under the hold hours or minutes. Then press the UP or DOWN button.
HOLDING THE TEMPERATURE
• Press the SCHEDULE button. The arrow will move to the word hold.
• Press the UP or DOWN button.
• To return the temperature to the pre set level, press the MODE button
until the arrow moves to follow schedule.
MANUALLY TURNING THE UNIT OFF
• Press the MODE button repeatedly until the display shows off in the
upper left.
FAN ONLY OPERATION
• Press the FAN button on the top. The arrow underneath the button moves
from auto to on.
• When you want to return to auto mode, press the FAN button again. The
arrow moves to auto.
CHANGING FROM FAHRENHEIT TO CELSIUS
• Press and hold the buttons underneath the HEAT and COOL set points
simultaneously until the screen displays the reset reminders and 01 in the
lower right corner.
• Press the UP button until 01 changes to 02 with (F) next to it.
• Press the rightmost button under the (F) until C appears.
• Press the DONE button.

ADJUSTING/TURNING OFF THE CONTINUOUS BACK LIGHT
• Press and hold the two buttons under the HEAT and COOL set points
until the screen displays the reset reminders and 01.
• Press the UP button until 01 changes to 03 with the number 3 next to it.
• To increase the backlight level press the rightmost lower button then
press the UP arrow button until 4 or 5 appears.
• To decrease the backlight level press the rightmost lower button then
press the DOWN button until 2,1, or Of (off) appears.
LOCKING THE KEYPAD
The keypad lockout feature lets you lock the thermostat at one of three levels.
1. You can change the temp, time, and day of the week.
2. You can change the temp.
3. The entire keypad is locked no changes can be made.
• Press and hold the buttons under the HEAT and COOL set points
until the screen displays the reset reminders and 01.
• Press the UP button until 01 changes to 04 with the number 4 next
to it.
• Press the rightmost lower button then press the UP button until the
screen displays the level you want. 1, 2, or 3. You will see a
padlock icon on the screen.
UNLOCKING THE KEYPAD
• Press and hold the Up and Down buttons for about 5 seconds.
• The padlock icon will disappear, the keypad is now unlocked and can be
used.
The keypad will revert back to the locked state after 2 minutes.

PROGRAMMING SCHEDULE
The thermostat is factory programmed for all seven days of the week.
These settings can be easily changed as grouped days e.g. Mon – Sun, or as
individual days.
GROUPED DAYS
• Press the SET button until the screen shows daily schedule in the centre
and lists the days of the week on the left.
• The arrow will be pointing to wake. Press the button under the hour or
minute and then press the UP or DOWN button to get the desired time.
• Press the button under “HEAT SET AT:” (heating mode) or “Cool Set
At;” (cooling mode). Press the Up or Down button until the desired
temperature.
• Repeat this process for each of the time periods day, evening, sleep.
• Press the Done button.

INDIVIDUAL DAYS
• Press the SET button repeatedly until the screen shows daily schedule in
the centre and lists the days of the week. There will be an arrow next to
every day of the week.
• Press the button under the days of the week until the arrow is next to the
day you want.
• There is now an arrow pointing to wake on the screen. To set the wake
time press the button under the hour or minute and press the UP or
DOWN button to set the time.
• Set the temp by pressing the button under the HEAT SET AT: (for
heating mode) COOL SET AT: (for cooling mode) temperature on the
right then press the UP or DOWN button to the desired temp.
• Repeat this process for each of the time periods by first pressing the
button under the four time periods to select the time period with the
arrow. To set the start time, press the button under the hour or minute,
then press the UP or DOWN button. To set the heat/cool temp press the
button under the heat set at/cool set at, then the UP or DOWN button.
• To set the schedule for the next day press the button under the days of
the week until the arrow is pointing to the desired day.
• Repeat for all the days of the week.

VACATION SCHEDULE
The thermostat allows you to set a vacation schedule to follow when you are
away for an extended period of time.
• Press the SET button repeatedly until the arrow points to vacation.
• Press the UP or DOWN button to select the desired temperature.
A return date must be entered to activate the vacation Schedule. The unit will
follow the vacation schedule as soon as a return date is entered. At 12:00am
on the return date the system will switch to the follow schedule option and run
the programmed schedule.
ACTIVATING THE VACATION SCHEDULE
• Press the SCHEDULE button until the arrow is next to vacation.

• You will see the next days date at the bottom of the screen under the
words return on. There is a box around the date.
• To set the date you will return, press the UP button and stop on the
desired date.
• To change the month, press the button under the month on the screen.
The selection box will move to month number. Press the UP button to
set the desired month.
• Repeat this process to change the year if necessary.

SCREEN INDICATORS
UNIT OPERATION
AUTO
1. Press the MODE button to select AUTO.

2. Press the UP/DOWN button to set the temperature. Temp range is
between 17°c and 30°c.
3. Press the ON/OFF button to start the unit.
NOTE: In Auto mode the air conditioner can logically choose the mode of cooling, fan,
and heating by sensing the difference between the actual ambient room temp and the
setting temp on the remote control. In Auto mode you cannot switch the fan speed it is
automatically controlled. If Auto does not provide the right level of comfort manually set
the desired mode and temp.

COOLING/HEATING/FAN OPERATION
1. Press the MODE button to select COOL, HEAT or FAN mode.

2. Press the UP/DOWN button to select the desired temperature. Within a
range of 17°c to 30°c.
3. Press the FAN button to select the fan speed AUTO, LOW, MED or
HIGH
4. Press the ON/OFF button to start the air conditioner.
DEHUMIDIFYING OPERATION
1. Press the MODE button to select DRY mode.

2. Press the UP/DOWN buttons to set the desired temp.
3. Press the ON/OFF button to start the air conditioner.
Note: In dehumidifying mode you cannot change the fan speed, it is

automatically controlled.
ADJUSTING AIR FLOW DIRECTION
1. Push the DIRECT button and the horizontal louver changes in 6°

increments.
2. Push the SWING button and the louvers will swing up and down
automatically.
Note: When the louvers swing or move to a position that will adversely affect
the cooling or heating performance the unit will automatically change the
direction or swing of the louvers.

TIMER OPERATION
TO SET THE AUTO ON TIME
1. Press the TIMER ON button.

2. Press the TIMER ON button again to set the desired AUTO ON time.
Each time you press the button the time increases by half an hour
between 0 & 10hrs and by one hr between 10 & 24 hrs.
3. After setting the TIMER ON, there will be a 1 sec delay before the
controller transmits the signal to the unit.
TO SET THE AUTO OFF TIME
1. Press the TIMER OFF button.

2. Push the TIMER OFF button again to set the desired AUTO OFF time.
Each time you press the button the time increases by half an hour
between 0 & 10hrs and by 1hr between 10 & 24hrs.

Auto On Operation is useful when you want the unit to turn on automatically

2. Press the TIMER ON button to display “6:0h” on the TIMER ON display of
the remote controller.
3. Wait for 3sec and the digital display area will show the temp again. The
“TIMER ON” indicator remains on and this function is activated.

Auto Off Operation is useful when you want the unit to turn off automatically
after you go to bed. The unit will stop automatically at the set time.
EXAMPLE
To stop the air conditioner in 10hrs
1. Press the TIMER OFF button, the last setting of stop operation time and
the signal “h” will show on the display.
2. Press the TIMER OFF button to display “h10”on the TIMER OFF display
of the remote controller
3. Wait 3 sec and the digital display area will show the temp again. The
“TIMER OFF” indicator remains on and this function is activated.
COMBINED TIMER
SETTING BOTH ON AND OFF TIMERS SIMULTANEOUSLY
This feature is useful when you want to stop the unit after you go to bed, and
start is again before you wake up or return home.
EXAMPLE
To stop the unit 2hrs after setting and start it again 10hrs after setting.

4. Press the TIMER ON button again to display 10h on the display.
Wait 3 sec and the digital display area will show the temp again. The “TIMER ON/OFF”
indicator remains on and this function is now activated.

SLEEP/FRESH FUNCTION
• Pressing this button for less than 2 sec will activate SLEEP function. If
you hold for more than 2 sec the FRESH function is activated.
• The SLEEP function enables the unit to automatically increase (cooling)
or decrease (heating) 1° per hr for the first 2 hrs, then hold steady for the
next 5 hrs. After this time the unit will stop operation.
The Sleep function helps maintain a comfortable temp while also saving
energy. It is only available in Cooling, Heating and Auto modes.
When the FRESH function is initiated, the ionizer/plasma dust collector

(depending on model) is energised and will help remove impurities from the
air.
LED/FOLLOW ME
• Pressing this button for less than 2 sec will initiate the LED function.
Hold down for more than 2 sec, the FOLLOW ME function is initiated.
• When the FOLLOW ME function is activated, the remote display is the
actual temperature at its location. The remote controller will send this
signal to the air conditioner every 3 mins until the FOLLOW ME button is
pressed again.
• The FOLLOW ME function is not available in DRY and FAN mode.
• Switching the operation mode or turning off the unit will cancel the
FOLLOW ME function automatically.
TURBO/SELF CLEAN FUNCTION
• Pressing this button for less than 2 sec will initiate the Turbo function.
Hold down this button for more than 2 sec and the Self Clean function is
initiated.
• Turbo function enables the unit to reach the preset temp in the shortest
time.
• In Self Clean mode, the air conditioner will automatically clean and dry
the evaporator coil and keep it fresh for the next operation.

ZONING
Every ducted heating, cooling & evaporative system delivers heating or

cooling through the duct work to a zone.
The duct system is usually balanced to provide the appropriate distribution of
air, and because it is permanently set for the area, we don’t often consider this
to be a zone.
A section of ducting that is permanently open and not controlled by a zone
damper is referred to as a common zone.

ZONING
As controlled zones can be turned on and off as required, provision must be

made to allow for when all the zones are turned off. Otherwise the system
may be turned on while all the ducting has been closed. Causing overheating
to the unit.
If the networker has been programmed not to have a common zone then it will
not allow the unit to operate if all the zones are turned off. The networker will
flash “ZONE” to alert the user of the system request error. Preventing the
system from being turned on until the zones are opened.
All zone parameters are required to be entered into the wall control in a
sequential order. The parameter reference for zone B cannot be accessed
unless zone A parameters have been entered.
Deleting zones must also be done in reverse order to entering zones eg; zone
D must be deleted before zone C can be deleted.
It is very important when an installer calls for zoning that you get the correct
information from him. You need to know:
• HOW MANY ZONES?

• IS THERE A COMMON ZONE?
• IS IT FOR HEATING/REFRIGE OR JUST HEATING?
• IS THE UNIT A MPS OR A STARPRO?
• HOW MANY NETWORKERS?
• IF MORE THAN ONE NETWORKER IN WHICH ZONE IS THE
MASTER NETWORKER LOCATED AND WHICH ZONE IS THE
SLAVE LOCATED?

Once you know exactly what you have on the property then you can
commence programming the system, to let your networker recognise and
control your system.

ZONING
For Starpro units before setting up the zone parameters you will need to set
the networker.
This is done by:
• Networker Off
• Press button 5 (clock)
• Hold down buttons 2 & 4 together (screen should read installer
parameter access)
• H01:ID00:0 should be displayed on the screen
• Press button 1 until screen reads H01:ID07:0
• With the round dial change the last digit from a 0 to a 1

On Starpro units the NG-2 module has the ability to connect an Add on unit and two
zones or three zones with heating only (if using the refrige terminal for a third zone the
damper must be a spring return type).
If more zones are required then a 506 or 516 module must be used.
A 24v damper motor requires a 516 module.
A 240v damper motor requires a 506 module.
Setting of the network 516 is done through the installer parameters on the NG-2 Board.
• Press the set button to scroll through the parameters. (506=)
• Press the up/down arrows to increase/decrease the value on any setting displayed
on the screen.
• To save the changes press the set button.
• Pressing the SET button will cycle through the installer set-up parameters.

ZONING
On MPS units, the 506 module connects to the heaters lo module, allowing 3
zones and an Add on unit. Or 4 zones using the add on terminal for the 4th
zone with heating only.

All dampers must be 240v.
Setting of the network 506 is done through the installer parameters on the lo
module.
• Press the set button to scroll through the parameters. (506=)
• To make changes press the up/down arrows.(see chart for options)
• To save the changes press the set button.

INSTALLER MENU ON THE CONTROL BOARD IN THE HEATER (STARPRO)
The Installer menu provides information and has parameters that can be controlled by the
installer. On power up of the heater, the display will show “HTG_OFF nG”, if a Brivis
Networker wall control is connected, and show “SEARCH_nG” if an analog wall control
is connected or if no wall control is connected. The installer menu is present as soon as
the heater is powered up and initialised. The selection list can be scrolled through by
using the SET button. The parameters can be changed by using the UP and DOWN
buttons. The following table contains all parameters accessible in the Installers menu.

HEATER MAXIMUM FAN SPEED SETTING

1 The number displayed is the fan’s default fan speed setting i.e. the RPM
the fan is set to run at for normal heating operation. It can be adjusted
between a maximum of 1350 and a minimum of 500, and should be set to
meet the installation’s airflow requirements. It is recommended to use a
fan speed between 1000 to 1350, as lower speeds are more likely to result
Networker Display in overheat conditions if the system has not been balanced correctly.

COOLING MAXIMUM FAN SPEED SETTING
2 This displays the RPM the fan is set to run at for normal refrigerative
cooling. It can be adjusted between a maximum of 1350 and a minimum of
500.

ZONING MINIMUM FAN SPEED SETTING
3 This is the minimum RPM the fan will operate to with the maximum outlets
closed due to the Networker zoning in heating mode. The default is 950,
but it can be adjusted between 500 and 1350. 800 is the recommended
minimum setting.

HEATER IDENTIFICATION NUMBER (Do not alter unless multiple
4 heaters are installed)
This parameter is used to identify each heater in priority order when more
than one heater is connected on the system.

CIRCULATION FAN OPERATION
5 This displays the RPM of the fan motor in circulation mode for fan
operation between heating/refrigerative cooling cycles. E.g. when the
system achieves the set room temperature and is cycled off by the
thermostat, the heater’s fan will continue to operate, to circulate the room
air.

SUPPLY AIR THERMISTOR SET POINT TEMPERATURE
6 This displays the temperature the heater’s gas valve will modulate to
maintain. The default will vary across the different models, but it can be
adjusted between 45º C and 70º C. This should be set to provide a
comfortable outlet temperature.

Setting the Installer Parameter for NET506 for either:
• 506 Zone Module (3 x 240Volt module relay or 1 x 24Volt module relay
(spring return) or Refrigeration relay).
• 516 Zone Module (4 x 240Volt module relay) plus the onboard

refrigeration relay.
ZONE / REFRIGERATION MODE
7 This is the selection mode for incorporating adaptive
zoning and refrigeration onto the system.

(24 VAC) zone and add-on control with relay number 3
used to switch on another device (e.g. humidifier).
NET506 = 5 Brivis Network 516 (24 VAC) Zone

Control. 4 x 24 VAC zone relays plus the use of the NG-
2 board refrigeration output.
Note: Requires NG-2 version 50 software to access

Note: All settings are saved automatically as you leave the set up mode.
To leave the set up mode and return to normal operation, either leave the control untouched for 20 seconds, or
keep pressing the SET button until the normal operation screen resumes, or press and hold the SET button for 3
seconds.
Important Note: If you have a 516 Zone Module and NET 506 is set on number 2 for refrigeration
you are required to put the refrigeration wiring in the 516 Zone Module.
If you have a 516 Zone Module and NET 506 is set on number 5 for refrigeration you are required
to put the refrigeration wiring on the onboard refrigeration output relay.

enter the zoning parameters.

• Rotate the round dial to change the parameter setting from 0 to 1.
• Pressing the number 1 button will move you to the next parameter
setting.
• Pressing button 2 will take you back to the previous parameter setting.
Once you have finished going through the settings press the on /off button
twice the zones you have added should now be displayed on the screen.
Button 4 will open and close zones A & B, button 5 will open and close zones
C & D. Continue to press the relevant button until the required setting is
achieved eg; both zones open, zone A open zone B closed ect. An open zone
is identified by a little arrow next to the word zone a, b, c, or d.

1. HEATER ID NUMBER
The heater/unit ID number refers to the number of heaters attached to the
networker. This does not include refrige units and is almost always entered as
1.
2.. RELAY NUMBER

The Relay number refers to the terminal that the zone is connected to on the
506 module.
3.NETWORKER
3.NETWORKER NUMBER
The Networker number refers to the networker that is sensing from that zone
i.e.: Master 1, Slave 2.
If there is more than one networker installed you need to make sure that you
set this number correctly. You need to find out which zone the slave is in and
set this number to 2.


MASTER & SLAVE
Remember on MPS units with add on refrige there can only be 3 zones as the
refrige is connected via the terminal that operates the 4th zone. A 4th zone can
be added but not via the networker they will need a separate switch wired
directly to the zone damper motor.
Starpro units can have 2 zones with refrige via the NG-2 board or up to 4
zones and refrige with the addition of a 516 module.
All settings are entered onto the master networker the slave will do what the
master tells it to. The master can be identified by the word clock next to
button 5
The master will take control of all operations, while the slave will only report
to the master if alterations need to be made. If the unit’s settings have been
altered on the slave it will communicate this to the master which will then
implement the changes.

SETTING THE SLAVE NETWORKER
Remove the Master Networker form the wall before setting the Slave.
The following steps need to be done at the Slave.
• Turn networker off.

• Hold down buttons 2 & 4 together until screen

changes. (installer parameter access)
• Press the mode (M) button until screen reads

• Rotate the round dial to change the last digit (1)

to a 2.
• Press the on off button to save the changes.
Note until the Master networker is reconnected

HAILING MASTER will appear across the top of the
screen.
Return the Master Networker back onto the backing plate.
