WiMAX
Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMax)

 802.16 – 2004 (d)

Based on 802.16 standards and WiMax certification

Based on Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing

Speeds up to 70 Mbps and WiMax BS can cover 5-10 km

WiMax Forum formed in April 2001

Ing. Diego Veloz Ch. MSc.

Características WiMAX
I  t operates in 2,5 GHz, 3,5 GHz and 5,8 GHz frequency
bands
Speeds up to 70 Mbps and WiMax BS can cover 5-10 km
(50 Km theorically)
It uses 256 FFT OFDM modulation scheme
Flexible channel plan from 1.5 MHz to 20 MHz per
channel
