2. ROLE PURPOSE

Responsible for the design and maintenance of OLNG’s data warehouse and the analysis of the
data contained within it. Translate the business stakeholders’ needs into solutions that are in line
with organizational requirements. Responsible for the activities related to data integrity and
enhancement of value of data through reporting and analysis and ensuring that it is available to
the appropriate people and system within an organization

6. ROLES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND CHALLENGES:

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


1. Responsible for OLNG reporting and data analytics along with business interface
management, reports development, reports maintenance and support for data analytics
2. Manage various reporting tools, high level dimensional modeling, data analysis and query
methods.
3. Manage DW/BI Implementation and post implementation process
4. Responsible for leading and facilitating the communication with IT staff, business customers
and other stakeholders. Provide support services to assist in the development and
implementation of business intelligence.
5. Understand business objectives and problems and manage the balance between business
requirements and user expectations. Determine a detailed and prioritized list of objectives and
activities for current and future projects
6. Use extensive experience as a liaison between users and technologists to drive requirements
into design and construction. (data will be provided through planning and will be more
technology oriented)
7. Analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve
existing processes. Consult with business units to analyze current business procedures,
identify issues, and learn specific business requirements. This includes understanding how
data is to be summarized and formatted for reports
8. Perform requirements gathering and system analysis, data analysis, data mapping, Logical
Data Modeling, functional design, and data quality improvements.
9. Work closely with end users, ETL (Extract, Transform & Load) developers, Data Modelers /
architects, Report Developers and Functional teams.
10. Perform business analysis to capture data and reporting requirements and translating to
technical specs for data warehouse
11. Assist in defining reporting requirements based on stakeholders' needs and collaborate on
design with other team members
12. Perform extensive data analysis and develop data mapping and functional solution design
documents for ETL (Extract, Transform & Load) developers

13. Ensure feasibility of design and clarify user requirements
14. Performs source data model / data analysis, and client Enterprise Data Warehouse data
model / data analysis
15. Capture business rules and builds physical design document to meet user requirements
16. Interpret logical design document and data model diagrams to understand requirements to
build physical design document
17. Effectively communicate the functional design to developers and confirm the same with the
business analysts team
18. Document overall business processes and data/information flow. Suggest and implement
process improvement and data collection opportunities. Functional testing of reports and ETL
(Extract, Transform & Load) data auditing
19. Assist and contribute towards maintenance of relevant procedure and work instructions
20. Provide user training including creation of training documentation.
21. Utilize the training and learning opportunities provided by the organization to develop
competencies in specialist areas and work towards self-development.

8. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND WORKING CONDITIONS

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:


 5 years of extensive hands-on experience with all aspects of the BI/DW Life Cycle
 Working knowledge of MS SQL Server & Oracle data structures preferred
 3 year of experience in one or more BI tools (Cognos, Microsoft Reporting, etc.)

 Experience in implementing a data warehouse; understanding of Inmon or Kimball DW
methodologies

WORKING CONDITIONS
 5/2 work pattern, with Sur as base location
 Occasion support requirements beyond office hours

1. Basic amount of Technical knowledge, with strong understanding of the business along with
strong communication and presentation skills
2. Strong Functional knowledge (Business functionalities - such as sales, finance, production
process)

mapping and data model to build Physical Design documents
4. Demonstrated project management skills
