3 Designation
Designation of a threaded bolt with thread d1 = M64 and length L1 = 2500 mm:
Threaded bolt SN 172 – M64 x 2500

4 Technical delivery conditions

4.1 Threaded bolt

Thread acc. to DIN 13; thread tolerance 6g

4.2 Strength
5.6 DIN EN ISO 898-1
8.8 DIN EN ISO 898-1
10.9 DIN EN ISO 898-1

4.3 Surface
Thread flanks and core Ra = 3.2 µm; other faces at random

4.4 Straightness
The threaded bolts shall be straight by the eye.

4.5 Inspections and certificates

For threaded bolts of dia. ≥ 80 mm and yield strength ≥ 350 MPa, referred to the smallest standardised material density, in
strength category 8.8, chemical analysis and tensile strength or hardness testing are required. The results shall be certified in
an inspection document 3.1 as in DIN EN 10204.

4.6 Preservation
4.6.1 Bolt shank
Preparation grade Sa 2 ½ as in DIN EN ISO 12944-4, with universal coat on alkyd basis with zinc phosphate; layer thickness
> 50 µm; colour grey RAL 7005.

4.6.2 Thread
Preparation grade Sa 3 DIN EN ISO 12944-4, with Tectyl 846 coat, layer thickness > 50 µm, refer to SN 200 Part 7 on
PRESERVING.

1)
Height of machine base plate.
2)
v-dimensions are based on washer thickness as in SN 808 + 1 x nut height as in DIN EN ISO 4032 or DIN 934
+ ≈ 1 x d1 for the application of hydraulic pretensioning units as in NH (SMS Standards Book) Part 4 (SN 403).
3)
The length of the shuttering sleeve shall be chosen such that the sleeve projects by 100 mm over the raw concrete and can
be subsequently adapted.
4)
w dimensions are based on rounded values of 20 x d, without regard to quality of concrete, reinforcement etc. For more
precise calculations, the instructions given in DIN 1045-1, 10.7, and VDI 2230 Sheet 1, shall be followed.
