B. Motivation: Group Work
a. Divide the class into 3 groups. Group 1 will be “rectangle group”bar, Group 2 will be
“circle group”, and 3 will be the “ square group”
b. Each Groups will be given 3 pieces of cuts- out
c. Ask each groups to get a shape and folds into three equal part .the rectangle group
will shade 1 part, the “the circle group will shade parts 2” and “the square” 3 part
d. Ask them again to get another shape and folds into four equal part .the rectangle
group will shade 1 part, the “the circle group will shade parts 2” and “the square” 3
part
e. Ask them again to get another shape and folds into 8 equal part .the rectangle group
will shade 1 part, the “the circle group will shade parts 3” and “the square” 6 part

f. How about the fraction in Set B . Do they have the same denominator?
g. What do you call these fraction these fractions that have different denominator?
(Tell the students that the fraction with the different denominator are called dissimilar fraction)
h. Have them give other examples of dissimilar fractions and draw their representation

could help them to decide wither an given pictures or examples really a dissimilar fraction
