MOTIVATION

“Spell it Out”

The students have to spell the word


“THEATER”. There is one rule: The students
have to yell the spelling of the word
whenever they want. But when two
students yell a letter at the same time, you
have to spell it again.
You have 60 seconds to spell the word.

Thank you for you participation. Our topic
for today is all about theater.

LESSON PROPER

I. PRIMING

Task 1: “ FACE IT”


Before we proceed to our discussion, let us
have another activity entitled “Face it”.
I have here a picture of different movies
and plays with their titles all you have to do
is to identify if it is a tragedy, Comedy, and
Musical using the emoji.

Task 2: “Watch it out”

I have here a video clip of miss Saigon. The students will do task.
Kindly watch and observe the video.

Miss Saigon is an example of a theater play.

that uses live performers, typically actors
or actresses, to present the experiences of
a real or imagined event before a live
audience in a specific place, often a stage.

Theater is the major form of arts that brings


together all other art forms.
What are those art forms? Painting and sculpture, installation arts,
dance, music and computer arts.
A story is acted out on stage by actors and
actresses by portraying the characters.

The performers communicate the theater


experience to the audience thorugh
combinations of gestures, speech, song,
music and dance.

Kindly read. Contributing to the vivid theater


experience are the stage sets and props,
the lightings. The background music and
sound effects the costumes and
accessories.
Those things are used to enhance the
physicality and presence of the theater
experience.

There are different types of theatrical


productions. But the most used are the
comedy, musical and the tragedy.

Musical theatre is a theatre piece contains
music, spoken dialogues and dance.
Musical theater is a genre of drama where
singing and dancing plays a very important
part.

Examples of musical theatre:

jokes intended to make an audience laugh

Comedy is a literary genre and a type of


dramatic work having a cheerful ending.

as a consequence of a tragic flaw, moral

Each group will make a short story . it can
be a comedy or tragic story.

grading you performance.
You will be given 5 minutes to prepare. Am
