Health. I’m currently in the home of Rose Park. She left Pillar Point
Hospital two days ago and I am very concerned about her health.
Doctor: Okay, Just let me open her file on the computer. I don’t think I’ve seen
her before. What was her name again?
Nurse: It’s Rose, like the flower, and last name Park P-A-K
Doctor: Right. Rose Park is a 77-year-old female with a history of chronic
obstructive pulmonary disease and recurrent leg ulcers. She is
currently a non-smoker, after being a chronic smoker for over 25
years and should have an oxygen tank available in case of flare-ups.
Nurse: Rose says that her leg ulcer has become much worse over the last two
days. It is oozing pus. She also says that her leg feels tight and
swollen.
Doctor: Right, and you said she was here at Pillar Point hospital recently?
Nurse: Yes just two days ago she was discharged.
Doctor: And did she come in because of the leg ulcers?
Nurse: Yes.
Doctor: Is it still wrapped in a compression bandage?
Nurse: No, I just removed it to assess the wound. The wound is 10 by 6 cm,
with a lot of red patches. It’s also pungent.
Doctor: 10 by 6cm did you say?
Nurse: Yes. Her lower legs and ankles are very swollen. She has a hacking
wet cough and her respiratory systems seem to be getting worse.
Doctor: Have you taken her temperature?
Nurse Yes Dr. Lee, I just took it. It’s 38.3 degrees.
Doctor: So she’s running a fever. Has she complained of chills?
Nurse: No but she is shivering occasionally.
Doctor: What do you suggest? 38.3 degrees is high.
Nurse: I think her respiratory health and her wound have deteriorated and
that she needs to go back to Pillar Point Hospital.
Doctor: I agree. Does she require medical transport?
Nurse: Yes
Doctor: Is the address 1770 Davie Street?
Nurse: Yes. 1770 Davie.
Doctor: Okay, I will arrange a medical transport for Mrs. Rose Park. It should
arrive within 30 minutes.
Nurse: Thank you doctor. I will wait here with Mrs. Park for the next half
hour.
Doctor: Good-bye.
