with the support of the Head Nurse or the Corporation Senior Nurse.

Checks daily the NICU equipment as allocated by shift by the in-charge nurse.

e. Completing relevant forms
Ensures that all NICU equipment, material and drug are available in the unit at all
times.
Able to operate and manipulate sufficiently monitors, ventilators, incubators,
resuscitators, blood gas machine and other medical equipment available in the unit
as per clinical competencies.
Closely cooperates with physicians.
Assist the physician during all procedures.
Follow up and completes physician written orders such as, medications,
interventions, laboratory works, etc.
Attend patients’ rounds.

Inform NICU Head nurse of designee of shift nurse-in-charge regarding any
problems
related to patient cares.
Observes and records regularly as per doctor's order, vital signs and newborn status
and inform the physician about any abnormalities and changes.
Observes the patient closely and record all the information regarding the patient's
status in the medical record and relevant chart and forms.
Provides standard patient assessment and documentation as per the protocol.
Obtains venous and capillary blood samples.
Obtain arterial sampling only with the official approved consent procedure.
Follows up laboratory results.
Insert peripheral intravenous lines.
Takes care and provides relevant observations of invasive accesses (UVC, UAC,
PICC,CVL,PIVL,ETT Chest tube and NGT)
Administers IV, IM, ID, SC and ET injection. Checks orders against neofax for dose
and side effects.
Provides endotracheal and oro-nasal suctioning.
Provides all intervention under sterile and clean conditions.
Keeps the baby undisturbed as much as possible as well as keeps the baby clean
and comfortable.
Cooperates with the parents at bedside, encourage and support them.
Prepares the baby and family for discharge.
Provides relevant parental education.
Keeping the environment clean to prevent transmission of nosocomial infection.
Responsible for maintaining our own professional and latest practice.
Giving proper and detailed hand-over to colleague.
