The ATR 72 is a twin turboprop powered aircraft


ATA 00 GENERAL FAMILIARIZATION designed to carry 64 to 74 passengers.
It is built in cooperation by EADS (France) and

The ATR42 is a twin turboprop powered aircraft


designed to carry 42 to 50 passengers.

The fuselage and the tail are built in NAPLES


(Italy) with section 16 from Xian (China).
The wing is assembled by SOGERMA in
BORDEAUX-MERIGNAC (France) with external
Production Chart part of the Wing center box from Xian (China).
Engines come from Pratt & Whitney in Longueil
Canada.
Propellers come from RATIER FIGEAC in
Figeac - France.
Final assembly and flight tests take place at
TOULOUSE (France).

The flight deck can accommodate two pilots and


one observer.
The two pilot's seats are stowed by sliding
laterally against the flight deck side.
Cockpit In flight position, these seats have to move to the
center line of the flight deck and then forward.
They are also reclining.

An option permits to take off at RTO in case of
Engine SHORT RUNWAY.

This mode, available on the RH engine, is used


only on ground, to provide aircraft electrical
supply and air conditioning.
Hotel Mode works with the LP and HP stages
Hotel Mode running and the propeller brake locked.
Hotel Mode = Right engine running + Propeller
brake on + Gust lock on + right condition lever at
feather.

In normal operation, all the flight compartment


lights are off.
The use of lights to indicate correct operation is
limited to a minimum (green illumination for
Lights and Philosophy normal operation).
Indication Green Normal operation.
"CAUTION" Amber Configuration not requiring
immediate action. Time for taking action will be
left to the crew's discretion.
Indication White Control position indication.
Neutralized abnormal configuration.
"WARNING" Red Configuration or failure
requiring immediate action.
Indication Blue Normal transient configuration.
