1 INTRODUCTION
The scope of work and services shall include all necessary work and supply of
equipment and material whether mentioned in these specifications or not, but are
necessary for the satisfactory, reliable safe operation and maintenance of the system
and required for achieving guaranteed performance of the system.
The Fly Ash handling System for 3 nos of WHRB indicating the basic parameters of
various equipment for extracting fly ash from Radiant chamber , Economiser-II &
Economiser-I and Electro static precipitator and conveying the ash to common Fly ash
silo
2 SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
The system shall be designed by considering the drgs & design basis as per mentioned
in annexure and specification mentioned below
WHRB :-
2 x 100% conveying Air compressor for WHRB-1,2&3 with 1x100% Refrigerant air
dryer. Air receiver is common for 3 WHRB’s which handles ash conveying system and
same shall be placed near to the compressor/boiler
There shall be 1 No. of material cut off valve, 1 No., adopter piece with metallic
Expansion bellow and 1 No., pneumatic transporter at outlet of each hopper. Each
pneumatic transporter shall be connected to the individual MS ERW heavy duty –
conveying pipeline and the same shall be terminated to the ash silo with the help of
necessary long radius alloy cast iron bends, end receivers to dump the conveyed ash
into it. There shall be at least 1 No., level probe shall also be mounted in each hopper to
initiate the conveying cycle. Booster line shall be provide for each conveying vessels

Radiant chamber – 3nos shall be conveyed by master & slave type. The ash collected
from these shall be transferred to silo in a single line.
Economiser-I and Economiser-II contains single opening and ash is transferred to silo
by master & slave type

ESP – 3nos. ESP 1 field shall be Master, 2 & 3 field shall be slave type which
conveys the ash from esp fields to silo
Knife edge gate valve (chain wheel operated) for Boiler & ESP hoppers shall be
provided. Fluidizing pad of suitable qty for hoppers shall be provided in all the hoppers.
Pneumatic vibrator shall be provided in all the hoppers and chutes.
Ash collected from 2 nos of WHRB’s are stored in single silo existing.
There shall also be one no. ash conditioner of capacity 15 TPH to discharge the ash
into open trucks for further disposal. Provision for dry ash handling (with telescopic
chute) shall be considered.
