Current state of the campus
A high school campus: main school building, two dormitories,
one cafeteria bld, sports hall, conference hall, two bld’s for
staff residences.
Construction: <1964
No cooling or mechanical ventilation except in sports hall and
conference hall.
The centralized cooling and mechanical ventilation system in
the Sports Hall is not being used due to unoccupancy during
summer but mechanical ventilation system in the conference
hall is used.
Heating by radiators.

Current state of Heating Cntr‐1
HC: In the basement of the cafeteria bld.
3 * boilers (930 kW ea) for heating of the campus
and 1 * boiler (581 kW) for DHW supply to the
dormitories, kitchen and sports hall.
Boilers were renewed in 2005.
Natural gas is used as fuel.

Current state of Heating Cntr‐2
Gas consumption in the HC, kitchen and Conference
Hall are measured by separate gas meters of the gas
authority.
Electrical consumption measured on the HV side in
the transformer bld managed by the elc authority.
No additional flow meter or heat meter for different
zones .

Current state of Heating Cntr‐3
No automatic control except the burners of the
boilers.
No automatic heating schedule or zone temperature
control.
The technician of school administration manages low
and high temperature HW distribution to the
buildings by manual on/off control. He decides when
to supply and stop HW for the dormitories showers.

A2PBA2PBEER– Affordable and Adaptable Public Buildings through Energy Efficient Retrofitting
Current state of HW lines
Each dormitory bld is fed with separate
hot water lines from the HC in the
cafeteria building.
HW lines and electrical feeders of block B
are connected to the building
underground, but the feeders of block A is
partially exposed to outside air.
There are also electrical water heaters at
each bathroom in the dormitories.
No fresh air supply in the dormitories,
windows are opened frequently even in
winter.
