Question I (50 points)

Write a 250-word narrative essay beginning with the following words: As he took in the view from the
twentieth floor, the lights went out all over the city…

Question II (25 points)

You have gone to the countryside for a brief visit, but have decided to spend a few more days there. Write a
120-150-word letter to your parents, explaining your decision and asking for their permission. Sign your letter
as Sam.

A. Put the verbs in brackets in the correct form or tense. (10 points)
