III-PROCEDURE
b. Motivation
(The teacher will tell a story about the two seeds)
-what happened to the first seed? -he was eaten by the hen
- why? -because he dreams too much about himself and he
can’t wait about growing up soon
-what about the other one? -he was not eaten
- because he waited to grow until it is safe
-very well, so we can tell from the story that what
happened to them are caused by their actions or decisions
The seed decided to come out very soon so the effect is
that he was eaten by the chicken. While the other one was
not so the effect is that he was not eaten
Now, what do you mean by cause and effect? -the cause is why something happened and effect is
what happened.
-very well said, so let’s have another examples of cause
and effect to further understand the topic.
-okay so to easily identify that there is a relationship or -so, because, once so that if, reason
cause and effect relationship between two things or
situation we can look for the clue words, those clue words
are what?
-okay so for example Tina did not attend the exam -because!
because she came late. So where is the signal word here? -she came late!
-very well, which is the cause ? -did not attend the exam
-great! Which is the effect?
-very good, so she came late is the “why happens” while -yes sir!
the did not attend the exam is the “what” happened. So
do you understand now what is cause and effect
realationship?
Very well, so let’s try this activity if you really understand
the lesson.
