ASSEMBLY ROOMS
SAVE ASSEMBLY
The most important issue facing Assembly is the City of Edinburgh Council’s plan to develop the Assembly Rooms. We entirely support
the need to upgrade the building. However, the new scheme has been devised in such a way that it would preclude our viable
operation during the Festival. For Assembly this means that we will probably have two more festivals to operate in the Assembly Rooms
before the work commences, but after our 30th festival in 2010 we will have to close.
We believe something of this importance to the festival deserves consultation and consideration, which it has not had to date.
If you would like to support Assembly or want further information please visit our website assemblyfestival.com to have your say.
FESTIVAL
position as a place to see the best in the world. We regrettably had to cancel the Aurora Nova
programme in 2008 due to financial constraints, but do believe that work like this should be in
Edinburgh and we have to find new ways to fund and promote it.
If you have views on this subject please do comment on our website assemblyfestival.com.
