BETIS HIGH SCHOOL
Guagua
Brigada Eskwela is a nationwide program which is being held annually by the Department of
Education (DepEd). The said program is considered as the modern version of ‘‘bayanihan’’ where all
sectors and other stakeholders take part in order to make sure that schools are clean, safe, disaster-
prepared and conducive to learning when students come back to the schools in June . The spirit of
“bayanihan” has become the motivating force that entices members of the community to come forth
and lend a helping hand for the school.
This year’s theme “Pagkakaisa Para sa Handa, Ligtas, at Matatag na Paaralan Tungo sa
Magandang Kinabukasan” In response to this, Betis High School started the activity with a Parade
during the 1st day of the event on May 28, 2018 at 6:00 am. All the participants assembled at the
boundary between Cabetican, Bacolor and Betis, Guagua the starting point and lasted in the school.
I asked the helped of my family for doing a general cleaning on my classroom. They were all happy to
answer my call for Brigada Eskwela Family Edition.
My mother, brother, sister-in-law, Auntie, Uncles and cousins were all present to help me out in
cleaning my classroom.
During the enrollment, I had the chance to meet my incoming Grade 10 St. John the Baptist students. I
also had the chance of asking them to come and help me in our classroom. Good thing, they did. It was the
fifth day of Brigada when they helped me design our garden.
A closing ceremony program was attended by the teachers, students, parents, local government
representatives, private institutions and other stakeholders of the school.
The closing was followed by a simple Alumni Homecoming and different Batches made the school
more conducive to learning through their pledges and volunteerism.
