DETAILS
Course Title Organization and Management
Course Description This course is designed to familiarize the students with the basic concepts, principles, and processes related to business organizations, and the
functional areas of management. Particular emphasis will be given to the study of management functions like planning, organizing, leading, and
controlling, and students will be oriented on the importance of these functions and the role of each area in entrepreneurship.
Grade Level 11
Number of hours 80 hours/ 4 hours a week

FIRST HALF OF THE SEMESTER

Content Standards The learners have an understanding of:


1. basic concepts and theories of management;
2. the role of business in the environment, and how the environment affects the firm;
3. the importance of planning concepts in business success; and
4. the significance of organization structures for effective business management
Performance Standards The learners shall be able to:
1. apply management theories & concepts in solving business cases;

2. analyze the various environmental forces affecting the firm and summarize these using Political, Economic, Social, and Technological
Analysis (PEST) and Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT) Analysis frameworks;
3. formulate effective plans for a specific business endeavor; and
4. design an appropriate organization structure for a specific business
