MINISTRY FOR THE SICK AND
HOMEBOUND
We are grateful to those who give of
their time and care to bring Holy Com-
munion to our parishioners who cannot
make it to church due to sickness or in-
firmity. If you know of anyone who would like to re-
ceive communion in their home or while hospitalized at
West Lincoln Hospital, please contact the parish office.
ARE YOU REGISTERED IN OUR PARISH?
If you are new to the parish or have been attending
Mass here, ensure that you are registered by complet-
ing the tear off section at the front of this bulletin.
Please do not take for granted that you are registered in
the parish, just because you attend Mass here. In the
future, should you be in need of a pastoral letter
(godparent, school, sponsor for confirmation, teacher
referral, etc.), it would be difficult to issue one if you
are not formally registered with the parish.
PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY
The Prayer Shawl Ministry contin-
ues to create handcrafted shawls for
parishioners, their families and
friends who are coping with illness,
loneliness, pain or trouble. During
the past year, we have distributed many prayer shawls
and lap blankets. The shawls are knitted with compas-
sion and prayerfulness. They are available to anyone
who needs one. Please call the office to request a shawl

The Sanctuary Lamp burns to remind us of Christ’s
presence in the Blessed Sacrament of the altar.

CWL News
The next CWL meeting will be Tuesday February 5th
following the 6:30 p.m. Mass. All ladies of the parish
are welcome and bring a friend.
ANNUAL OFFENCE DECLARATIONS
If you were asked to sign a declaration for this year and
have done so, we thank you. Anyone still needing to
sign their declaration is to do so by January 15th.
Forms can found in the vestibule or sacristy. Please re-
turn your signed form to the office to keep your status
current.
PREAUTHORIZED DEBIT (PAD) is a convenient
way to make your offerings to the church. If you’re in-
terested, please complete the card found in the pews
and return it to the parish office either directly or
through the collection basket. These donations are pro-
cessed once a month, on or about the 15th of each
month.

We continue to collect your Canadian Tire
money. It can be brought to the office or
placed in the collection basket.

In the overture to
the 1970 rock opera,
“Jesus Christ Super-
star,” we hear Judas
questioning: “Why’d
you choose such a
backward time in such
a strange land?”
During Epiphany this year, we celebrate the discov-
ery of the “superstar” and the coming of the Magi from
distant lands. They are bearing gifts for Jesus.
Today, we offer our own gifts to our Superstar Crea-
tor. Directions are found in Matthew’s dusty 2,000 year
old Gospel which invites us to return to that time and
that strange land. There, we can rediscover the star of
purpose in our lives. Can we resolve to follow Jesus?
Can we make the gift as workers in the kingdom of

UPDATE
An amazing response once
again to this year’s Christmas
Campaign to help complete the kitchen. With your
kind support, we have collected $16,075.00 - thank you
for your generosity. Our benefactor’s $10,000.00 will
be added to this for a grand total of $26,075.00; a

are! This will certainly bring us closer to completion.

HEALING MINISTRY SUPPORT GROUP
This month’s topics are ‘Embracing the New Year’,

Bishop Bergie will lead the Ecumenical Prayer Service
for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity 2019 at the
Cathedral of St. Catherine of Alexandria, on Sunday
Jan 20, at 3:00pm. The key scripture is “Justice and on-
ly justice you shall pursue.” (Deuteronomy 16. 18-20)
The theme of the service is moving from 'words about
justice' to 'action to bring about justice.'
Please encourage your parishioners to attend partic-
ularly those committed to working for justice. Please
participate yourself AND invite and bring one contact
from one (or more) of the non-Catholic Christian
communities in your neighbourhood.
