Subtraction – is the opposite or inverse of addition.

Minuend – is the number form which we subtract.
Subtrahend – is the number that we subtract.
Difference – is the answer in subtraction.

Estimating Differences

- TO ESTIMATE THE DIFFFEENCE OF TWO NUMBERS WITH THE SAME

NUMBER OF DIGITS round each number to their highest place value then
subtract them
- TO ESTIMATE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TWO NUMBERS WITH
DIFFERENT NUMBER OF DIGITS round them off to the highest place
value of the lesser number then subtract them
