SUMMARY OF WORK EXPERIENCE REPORT FORM

RECORD OF WORK EXPERIENCE

TO SUPPORT APPLICATION FOR
PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER OR GEOSCIENTIST STATUS
The purpose of this form is to provide a summary of your work experience to demonstrate that you have addressed the key
elements which together encompass the breadth of experience to obtain licensure as a professional member of
Professional Engineers & Geoscientists Newfoundland and Labrador (PEGNL). Please refer to Section 2 of the Internship
Guideline on the elements of satisfactory work experience before completing this form.

For each of the elements listed below, please describe the experience which you have gained to address this
element. In your description, please identify specific projects and employers. If you have acquired experience for
any of these elements through more than one project, please describe each separately and sequentially in the
description space allocated for that heading. PLEASE NOTE: Your completed Summary of Work
Experience Report will be shared with the professional references that you have identified in your
application.

1. Application of Engineering Theory includes analysis, design and synthesis, testing methods and
implementation methods. It must include selecting solutions and solving problems; preparation and
checking designs or interpretations; showing evidence of sound technical judgment; and, showing
familiarity with the use and application of pertinent technologies, procedures, systems and programs.

Application of Geoscience Theory includes design and implementation of geoscientific programs;

compilation and processing of data acquired; assessment and interpretation of geoscientific data in
accordance with geoscientific principles; and, written technical reports presenting conclusions.

During the period, I obtained the following experience to address the elements of Application of Theory:

Description: I had started working at INOXCVA as a Graduate Engineer Trainee and for the first project for of cryogenic
liquid storage tank I used the formula of thin shell using factor of safety, welding efficiency and allowable stress of the material as per
design temperature which is related to theory of thick and thin shell of Applied Mechanics.I worked on BHEL project of cylinder filling
station which include tank, vaporizer, cylinder filling arrangement& skid and used principle of heat transfer in the design of vaporizer,
selecting a pump considering flow and head required. Also used fillet size calculation for fillet joint, performing lifting lug
and other supporting calculation using fundamentals of Applied Mechanics. I also got the exposure of different welding
process and destructive & non destructive test which I studied during my undergraduate degree and extension of it. Here I also design mobile

tankers for the cryogenic service and utilize the knowledge of automobile engineering in chassis selection.
During my tenure of work in Zamil Heavy Industries I had to prepared plate layout considering steel rolling process (rolling side
in longitudinal direction) and implement what I learnt in Production Technology. Here I also used heat treatment for a
carbon & austenitic stainless steel considering iron carbon diagram. For column and other process equipment I need to consider
soil bearing capacity , wind and seismic conditions so utilize what I studied in Fundamental of Civil engineering.
I used whatever I learnt in Engineering Drawing subject in order to make the drawing more presentable to the shop floor.

2. Practical Experience allows applicants to understand the practical limitations of real systems. During the
period, I obtained the following practical experience:

Description: I learnt about Pd/2t & Pd/4t for the circumference and longitudinal stress but in real life project we use
welding efficiency and consider some difference in the denominator (-0.6P & 0.4P for long. & circ. joint as per ASME Sec. VIII
Devision I) which is different from the text book.
Also in one job , vessel burst in a horizontal direction during the cold stretching (having pressure higher than hydro-test pressure).
Hence I come to know why it burst in horizontal direction ,as the circumference stress is higher but its shows the effect in
longitudinal direction. In some job having higher shell thickness many times I change weld joint considering welding process,
minimizing machining and weld deposition and welder's accessibility considering the type of welding. In designing a tall column
I need to consider some margin for the support system so that after the detail design completes it pipe loading & other.

3. Management of Engineering/Geoscience works includes the supervision of staff, project management, general
exposure to an engineering/geoscience business environment and the management of technology. During the
period, I obtained the following experience in the management of engineering/geoscience:

Description: I mostly worked with manufacturing companies

4. Communications Skills includes development of good oral and written communication skills and applicants
must show evidence of preparation of written technical reports and of making oral presentations to management,
peers, or the public. During the period, I obtained the following experience in development of communication
skills:

5. Social Implications of engineering/geoscience work recognizes the responsibility to consider

consequences of the work on public safety and the environment. During this period, the following
heightened my awareness of the social implications of engineering/geoscience:

Description:

6. Continuing Professional Development: During this period, I have undertaken the following continuing
education or continuing professional development activities to enhance my knowledge or skills in my area
of practice:
