The following sources are worthwhile, but copyrighted, so I cannot include a copy
directly in the Library. Links to where you can buy a new copy are given. New
books
can be quite expensive, so you can also look in libraries, look for used copies for

sale, look for online electronic copies, or to borrow a copy from someone who has
it
already.

If your local library does not have a copy, they can often borrow one through
"Inter-
Library Loan". I have all of these in my personal library, though sometimes not
the
latest edition. If you are part of a space project or a student, and you cannot
find
another source for them, you can ask to borrow my copy.

The high cost of new books is part of why the "Space Transport and Engineering
Methods"
text is being done as an open source wikibook. Collaboration with other authors and
keeping it up-to-date are other reasons. Cost and convenience has led to the
existence
of online electronic copies of many works even if they are not open source, and
searches
via Google will find them. There is a current conflict between the ideal of all
knowledge
being available to everyone, everywhere, instantly, at zero cost; the development
of
computers and the Internet, which is rapidly approaching that ideal from a
technical
standpoint; and laws which treat knowledge as a scarce commodity which can be
hoarded,
restricted, and only distributed with permission.

As an individual, I prefer the ideal, and so I have made my own work free. Legally
I
cannot distribute other people's work without their permission. Until the issue of
freedom of knowledge is resolved, each reader will have to decide for themselves
how
they feel and what to do.

This is an advanced book on orbital mechanics. If you want to understand this book
fully, you should read an introductory orbital mechanics book first, and have a

background in advanced mathematics. A general reader can understand some of the
