Nothing matters, until it hurts you. Agriculture, the traditional
occupation of our country, is known as backbone of India which contributes 25% to the national economy of India. But, Is agriculture really encouraged in India? What do you think? .To say the truth ,it is absolutely not, the farmers are suffering and at the verge of extinction. In the past few decades, they are badly affected due to natural disasters and lack of support from government .Recently, we all might have heard about the issues like Methane project, Kaveri issue ,Sterlite issue and farmer’s loans .These are the major issues that the farmers that threaten the farmers for which the farmers are protecting against.
Have you ever thought what could be the reason for
farmer’s death in India, Why the kaveri issue is being unsolved for years, do the schemes and services reach all the people in our country, is the government really favourable to the farmers???...
On my opinion ,Tamilnadu has the highest literacy rate in
india, not Kerala. Destroying the forests and laying roads , this project is named as greenfield highway Project. Thousands of agricultural lands and water resources like wells and canals in this area have been affected badly.I wonder, who is benefited from these projects? .The cylones like Varadha and Gaja are one day news for media and meme creators but do you know how many farmers lost their lives in the varadha cylone? The farmers lost their lifes not because of food or water scarcity . The main reason was heart broken on seeing their hardwork going as a waste , debts and lack of support from the government. We often buy or order our favourite food from our favorite hotel or apps like swiggy…and often would complain this could be much better…but have you have thought where this food comes from ? the person who struggles for it is really benefited?
The farmer’s descendants does not opt for agriculture as
their occupation because the farmers are not supported in any of their struggles , and they feel this occupation is not prestigious and not profitable. A huge shame…Running without clothes on roads to grab the attention of media. The TN farmers have been protesting on delhi roads for past 6months.But the media and the government seem unnoticed. Are they refugees from other countries?
I’m proud to be born in tamilnadu where police officers
like Raja have set their acheivements in Tuticorin. You know what he did? He used a missile gun and shot the common people , from 100m away…Is this an act of bravery? Are these people looking like terrorists?
This situation can definitely change if the farmers are
supported in their struggles. Government is ready to give 3 lakhs if a farmer is dead. give a man a fish and you feed him a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime…. The government must reduce the cost of seeds ,fertilisers and free farmers from debts who are under the poverty line.
The people other than farmers including ourselves are not
aware of the consequences we will have to face if we ignore to pay attention towards them. Everyone should be educated indeed of caste, gender ,etc. this may bring a drastic change in the society. Younsters are the pillars of our nation . It is better to start with them. The younsters must be taught agriculture in schools. Organic farming must be encouraged.
