Prior to becoming an academic in 2006, I had practised as a statistician in the healthcare industry

and government for 15 years. To date, I have published 156 papers in peer-reviewed scienti c
journals (h-index: 30, i-10 index: 75, citations: 3370, ResearchGate Score: 40.33). I have taught in
various faculties and schools (Business, Engineering, Science and Health Sciences) in Australia and
Singapore.

Trained in Statistics, Decision Sciences, Medical Statistics and Industrial Engineering (PhD), I consider
myself a methodologist specializing in Bayesian Meta-Analysis, Structural Equation Model (SEM) and
Machine Learning. My areas of empirical research include applied economics (e.g. banking, elections
and tourism) and clinical decision making (e.g. post-surgical risk scoring). Besides serving as an
editor for Journal of Cardiology & Cardiovascular Medicine, I am also supervising a PhD student
specializing in speech pathology.

I enjoy teaching Analytics, Mathematics and Statistics at all levels. The courses I have taught at
tertiary level since 2006 included Business Statistics, Quantitative Methods, Predictive Modelling,
Biostatistics, Medical Statistics, Applied Statistics, Analyzing Medical Data, Introduction to Probability
& Statistics, Data Mining, Applied Statistical Methods, Generalized Modelling & Forecasting and Data
Mining, Introduction to Statistics.

I embrace UoPeople's core values wholeheartedly. Let's learn together and help me to walk with you
in your learning journey. Learning does not end with the completion of a course!
