Break-out Title/Topic: History and Theoretical Frameworks of Psychology Resources Time
Bridge-in:
1. How many of you found the history/frameworks of psychology intriguing?
2. Since there was immense interest in the topic last week, we will be diving
deeper into the history of how psychology evolved and became what we
study today.

Pre-Assessment:
1. How many of you have read chapter 1 of your textbook and watched the
Crash Course video posted?
2. Can anyone name all of the frameworks described in your textbook?

Learning Objective:
1. Expand your knowledge on the history/frameworks of psychology.
2. Get a deeper understanding of how psychology as a field of study was shaped,
those who influenced it’s change, and it’s development over the last hundred
years.
3. Give practice questions to help give the mentees an idea of how their exam
questions will look like. 1
Participatory Activity:
1. The activity planned is a Jeopardy game, specifically designed with questions
regarding the frameworks of psychology described in the textbook, with an
extra section that covers the assigned Crash Course video.
2. The mentees will split into 2 groups, and each group will be a team.
3. They will take turns picking a category and a level of difficulty and attempt to
answer the question. The questions were created using both the PowerPoint
and textbook, so the mentees will have to had read the chapter to know all
the answers. - Laptop
4. Correct answers earn the team points and incorrect answers will give the - Jeopardy
opposing team a chance to steal. game
5. Once all the questions have been completed, a Final Jeopardy game will - Textbook
determine the winner. (if needed) 16

1. How well do you think the game facilitated your knowledge of the subject?
2. Do you think you will be able to discern between each framework during a
midterm/test? 1
Summary:
1. The purpose of this activity was to help expand upon your existing knowledge
of the covered material and give you a deeper insight into each framework.
2. While the frameworks are similar to a degree, there are small differences that
are unique to each psychologist. 0.5
