Above the Rest the Montana Stockgrowers Association’s Annual Convention going on at the Double
Tree Inn in Billings. He was on the air live at 6:00 this morning with a variety of guests
including MT Stockgrowers directors, vice presidents, the outgoing president, Bryan
Mussard of Dillon (along with raising great ribeyes, he also has his own line of
cigars aptly called “Cattle Baron Cigars”, as well as Gorgeous Vodka,) and the new
president taking over, Fred Wacker of Miles City, whose Black Angus beef was the
first ever to get into China. Senator Steve Daines packed a cooler full of Wacker’s
Four Cross Ranch beef to China, hand-delivering it to the Premier of China, Wang
Yang, who said, “we’ve got to start getting this beef into our country.” Wacker was in
Beijing in November of 2017 as one of the signors of the memorandum of agreement
(MOA) at during this time he had this to say: “China’s market has the potential to
be a game-changer for Cross Four Ranch and Montana ranchers more broadly.
The MOA shows how much interest there is in China for high quality cattle and beef
from Montana and the U.S. and I appreciate Senator Steve Daines’ efforts to help
connect me with potential Chinese buyers.”And Wacker is very optimistic about the
beef trade in the future. He said that while Montana ranchers are suffering a bit with
trade tariffs right now, he feels that President TRump is doing the right thing and it
will pay big dividends in the long run. Mussard agrees. “Trade is Trump’s hallmark,”
he said. Oh, and about Mussard’s Cattle Baron Cigars? They feature a Nicaraguan
Habano wrapper, a Dominican binder, and a combination of Dominican Seco and
Nicaraguan Viso for the filler. Cattle Baron Cigars has 5 sizes: all the same blend,
