UNIT/CHAPTER OBJECTIVE/GENERALIZATION/BIG IDEA:


● The learners will provide written examples of locomotor skills and how to fully complete each skill.
Some specific locomotor skills include: hop, skip, gallop, jump, slide. Students provide a visual image
and explanation of every skill asked.

LESSON OBJECTIVE:
● Given a list of the locomotor skills, TLW select graphic images that represent each movement correctly
with a score of 3 out 4.
● Given the certain images, TLW will describe step by step how to perform each Locomotor skill with a
score of 3 out of 4.
● Given a computer and using Microsoft Word, TLW rate each locomotor skill on a difficulty level from
1-5 and will be scored 3 out of 4 on the rubric.

● Internet Access: secure google images

TECHNOLOGY INTERGRATION:
 Students will use google images as stated previously to reflect on each skill. Microsoft Word software will be
used to type, format, and add images for the Locomotor Skill activity. Students will upload assignment to class
file website.

BACKGROUND and RATIONALE:


 Students will demonstrate a clear understanding of each locomotor skill by providing visual
representations and written reflections on the meaning of each skill.
 This lesson is a continuation of TN Physical Education Standards MS.3.
 It is known the lesson will be adjusted for students who did not master the skills. No modifications needed
for Word Document task.

PROCEDURES AND TIMELINE:


 Introduction:

 Begin by displaying each locomotor skill on screen display, overhead, or whiteboard.


 Provide a brief description/definition of each skill.
 Give students a few minutes to practice each skill in gym to get a better idea of how they would like to describe in their
words how to do the skill.
 The students will be using pictures and images to make the skills easier to understand.

● Procedures:
(15 min)Prior to computer: located in the gym, the teacher will describe and provide students with an
actual live example of each locomotor skill. Students will follow after each one and perform to their best
ability.
(20 min) At Computer: Teacher will give directions and instructions on google images as well as
Microsoft word and opening a table to fill in correctly. Students will follow while being observed and
helped. After finishing, students will upload to class file website given.
(10 min) After Computer: Back to the Gym. Students will be instructed by teacher to do cool down-
locomotor-involved skills and go over what they learned.

 Closure: After the cool down and after the students speak on what they learned, teacher will reflect on
classroom behavior and involvement as well as next weeks lesson or upcoming activity.
