366 Holy Hours were kept before the Blessed Sacrament this past week. “Jesus
told St. Faustina that the tabernacle and monstrance are one of two thrones of His
mercy in the world. Jesus in the Eucharist sustains us in our daily lives. Countless
demands and activities of all sorts sweep us along so that we easily become
disconnected from the Lord, but He will daily recharge the batteries of our life in an
hour of adoration.” (Fr. Andrew Apostoli, C.F.R.) Call now for your hour to reconnect with the
Lord. 330-690-9661(Gene). Vacant hours needing adorers: Sunday 5-6am call Mike at 330-
376-4015, Sunday 6-7pm call Patty at 330-745-1552. A second adorer is needed Wednesday
7-8pm call Pat at 330-703-9280, Thursday 5-6pm call Kathy 330-753-2850 and Friday 7-8pm
call Joie at 330-745-6852.

For Adorers who faithfully lock the door daily, be sure when you have a substitute that they are
aware of how to lock all the doors.

In this busy season when the church is used for different events, the committed adorers should
faithfully keep their hours.

Third Sunday of Advent

During this season we give gifts to friends and family. The gospel asks us if we plan to
share with those who have little or nothing. If our impoverished brothers and sisters
aren’t on our gift list, we may be missing the point of Christmas. Let us be generous
with our charitable giving.

Barberton Area Community Ministry item for the Month of December is Canned Fruit. All
donations can be placed in the bench in front of the giving tree in the vestibule of the
church. Donations are picked up on Monday mornings. Thank you again for all your
support in helping us serve our brother’s and sister’s in need.

Please pray for our Sick especially: Betty Bartel, Lisa Gnap, Judy Kriston, Anne

Last year’s changes in the tax law kept in place several popular and attractive charitable gifting options.
Gifting appreciated stock (held more than 1year) to our parish may allow you to deduct the stock’s full
value and bypass capital gains tax. Also, if you are 70 ½ or older, you may be able to reduce your taxable
income this year with a gift made directly from your IRA to our parish. Talk to your advisors and IRA
administrator for more information and to be sure that a gift is made directly from an IRA to a qualified
charity such as our parish. For questions contact Denise Moore in our parish office at (330) 745-0011 ext
113 or via email at businessmanager2@rrbiznet.com. You are also welcome to contact Mary Lou Ozimek
of the Catholic Community Foundation at 216-696-6525 x4070 or via email at

– your relationship cold, distant – thinking about a separation or divorce? Are you
already separated/divorced but both of you want to try again? Then the Retrouvaille
program may help. RETROUVAILLE, which means “rediscovery,” is supported by
the Catholic diocese of Cleveland, but it is open to couples of all faiths. This program consists of a
weekend experience for couples and six follow up sessions. A registration fee of $150 is required to
confirm your reservation. For more information concerning the program, or to register, please call Marce

Saints Cyril & Methodius Church, Barberton…. The building at the corner of 15th Street NW and
Shannon Avenue in Barberton is no longer a Catholic Church. The site was sold by the Diocese of
Cleveland in 2011 following the closure of Saints Cyril & Methodius Parish. The building is currently
occupied by “C&M” “Christus et me” “Orthodox Old Catholic Church.” This group has no affiliation
with the Diocese of Cleveland and is not in full communion with the rest of the Catholic Churches.
Catholics are not encouraged to attend services at this site. The Diocese of Cleveland has no way to
verify whether or not ministers at that church building are validly ordained. Furthermore, the
administration of sacraments which depend on faculties or on ecclesiastical authority may be invalid even
if the minister were validly ordained. Please contact the diocesan chancery with any questions related to
this matter.
In the October/November envelope packet, you will find an envelope for Christmas
Flowers. A donation to the Flower Fund helps to defray costs of flowers and decorations
in our church during the upcoming Christmas season. For those using Faith Direct, if you
have made a contribution, please drop the names of the intended into the offertory
basket or contact the rectory at 330-745-0011, the deadline to have your intentions in flower list is
Monday, December 17. Please plan ahead.

Meeting Room.

Join fellow parishioners for a few friendly hands of Euchre, Friday, January

provided.

The Diocese of Cleveland’s “Protecting God’s Children” program is a continuing effort to instruct and
inform everyone about the protection of children from sexual abuse. To report any past or present
suspected inappropriate behavior toward children by priests, deacons, religious, lay ecclesial ministers
or personnel associated with the Church, please contact the Diocesan Response Service Office at 216-
334-2999 or via email at: response_services@dioceseofcleveland.org. You are also asked to
