independence
Demonstrates a positive attitude towards teaching and learning
Comments:
Alya Showed a great professionalism in her class and with her MST and students, her
attendance record is good, and she is punctual on school time regularly. Alya seemed to be
prepared for class, she planned the lesson well in advance with a lot of thoughts. She
seemed to be motivated to teach and engage with young learners. She seems to demonstrate
a positive attitude towards teaching and learning.

Planning for Learning

Has completed lesson plan for every lesson, printed and available to MST and MCT upon
request
Ensures lesson plans have sufficient detail to secure effective delivery
Lesson plans are linked to long range and unit plans
Learning objectives are testable and directly linked to curriculum outcomes
Lesson plans have clear assessment which includes formative and/or summative activities
Lesson plans are balanced securing lessons which are engaging, effective and student
centered
Differentiation has been incorporated into lesson plans where appropriate and needed
Comments:
Alya sent her lesson plan a day before her observation and the lesson plan was detailed.
This lesson went very smooth and it was productive. But I would recommend Alya to
include a clear section for summative and formative assessments in her lesson plan. And I
would generally recommend Alya to assess learners formatively to be able to determine
their understanding of the content.
Managing Learning
Uses cooperative learning as part of their learning environment
Uses appropriate classroom management strategies to secure a safe and effective learning
environment
Establishes and manages classroom routines and transitions
Comments:
You seem to use a lot of cooperative learning as part of your learning environment. You
also manage to use appropriate classroom management strategies that seemed to be very
effective with your learners. Like I commented before, you manage to have a smooth
transition between activities and class routines are well conducted. Your time management
is also effective, but sometimes you need to be a better judge of time, I mean if you noticed
that students needed more time in an activity and your time is up, then you have to make the
decision whether to give them extra time or not depending on student’s level and needs.
Implementing Learning
Implements strategies which continually motivate and maintain an effective classroom
presence
Includes a range of student centered activities in the lesson
Presents material which is accurate, meaningful and accessible to support student
engagement and learning
Sequences learning experiences logically
Lessons are paced to ensure students are appropriately engaged and challenged
Instructions are given at appropriate times within a lesson and are clear and concise
Uses a variety of questions that fit appropriately within the lesson context
Implements differentiated instruction to lessons taught
Comments:
Well done working on my precious comment, you seemed to be focusing on all of the
students regardless where they were sitting (front or back). Alya, instead of asking students
to wait for you to come to their tables and explain the activity, ask your MST to help. I was
observing students and they seemed to lose interest while they are just waiting doing
absolutely nothing for 4 minutes. Your MST noticed that, and she went to team 3 group and
asked them to wait till you get to them and explain the activity. Then you went checking
around other groups and you totally ignored team 3 group and they are still setting quietly
waiting for you. The activities you had in this class were good, but I would recommend that
you challenge learners to make sure they are learning and going beyond expectations. You
managed to differentiate the activities as per group levels. I would recommend to you that
you use the concepts of centers where students finish from one center and after a certain
time they move to the following group and so on.
Assessment
Monitors purposively in relation to learning and behavior
Utilizes a range of effective formative assessment strategies to gauge student progress
Implements valid and reliable summative assessment strategies where appropriate
Has organized a system to effectively record student data and information
Constructive feedback is provided to students in a timely and appropriate manner
Assessment data is used to inform planning and instruction
Comments:
Its good that you reviewed the lesson at the end and you played the game of correct or not,
through questioning strategies.
Reflection on Practice
Reflects on wider educational matters such as ethics, morals, culture, historical contexts and
how these impact student learning leading to change of practice
Reflects on student learning
Reflects on their own practice leading to improvement of practice
Reflections are conducted and recorded consistently and are accessible to the MST and
MCT
Comments:
Your lesson went smoothly, and the activities were good. Job well done ☺
