Text:

Six people have been killed in a pile-up on the motorway, this afternoon.
Seventeen other people have been hurt. Six lorries and seventeen cars are involved
in the crash.

The accident occurred at 4:00 p.m. when a lorry was hit by another one which
was overtaking it.
The two lorries blocked the way, and they were hit then by several other cars. The
cars and lorries caught fire. Some of the people were injured when they tried to
escape from the fire. The motorway hasn’t been cleared yet and the traffic is still
being held up.
A resident from neighboring towns has called Ambulances and the fire brigades
who covered the site of the accident.
T gives some time to Ls in order to read and extract information.

T explains some dark words like:

Stating the rule
We use the Present perfect to talk about a period of Time which Ls / T of the Present
continues from the Past to now. Perfect

The Present Perfect = have / has + Past Participle of the verb

We use the present Perfect when we have ( already, yet, just,


recently, never )
