Skills

Assessment

AUTHENTIC SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT

The class will play a game. Students will divide into pairs. The students will have cards that are labeled. There will be a matching
card for each visual I have. Each pair of students will have a jar they need to fill with beans. Each time I hold up a visual, students
are to show me what the visual is with their index card. If they get it right, a bean goes in the jar. When every team fills their jar,
they will have choice time. Putting students into pairs rather than in larger groups will allow me to better observe which students
don’t fully understand the vocabulary and will also give students the opportunity to work together, better. This will allow me to
make note of students I need to reach out to and make priority for my one on ones.

OTHER FORMATIVE OR SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT(S)

I will take time to sit with my students one on one and go through the vocabulary words they’re learning within the unit plan.
Assure they are understanding what’s being taught. I will also send home games that consist of matching the words with the
visuals, in hopes families will get involved, but more to keep their minds fresh on the topic, and to review their final product coning
from outside of class.

Skills: As a result of this unit, students will be skilled at or be able to pick up trash as needed and not litter. Be cautious of their
water usage. Obtain the skill to garden. Obtain knowledge for what to recycle and recycle it.
