Using the BCPro User Interface BCPro User Guide Contact your local branch office.
Installation Overview
This section is an overview to the installation of the BCPro and BCPro UI software for Release 3.0.
If you are installing this software for the first time, review the Prerequisite Software Checklist for Installation or
Upgrade to verify that you have the computer software required to run the BCPro Workstation and BCPro UI software.
Enabling ASP.NET
1. In Control Panel, select System and Security, then Administrative Tools.
2. In Administrative Tools, double-click Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager in the right pane. The Internet
Information Services (IIS) Manager window appears.
3. In the tree on the left, select the name of the local computer. When you select the computer, the message Do
you want to get started with MS Web Platform may appear. Click No to continue. The middle
pane refreshes to show an IIS configuration screen.
4. In the middle pane, locate the IIS section and double-click the ISAPI and CGI Restrictions icon. Verify that the
following items are allowed: ASP.NET v.2.0.50727 and ASP.NET v.4.0.30319.
5. If these items are not allowed, select each one and click Allow. You can ignore the Common Gateway Interface
(CGI) module alert in the upper-right pane.

3. Click Advanced Settings. The Windows Firewall with Advanced Security window appears.

4. In the left pane, click Inbound Rules. The Inbound Rules pane appears.
5. In the Actions pane, select New Rule. The New Inbound Rule Wizard opens and the Rule Type window appears.

6. Select Port and click Next. The Protocol and Ports window appears.
7. Select TCP, and in the Specific Local Ports field, enter the port numbers (80, 88, 123, 135, 389, 443, 445, 1025,
1433) as shown in Figure 7 and specified in Table 3.

9. Select Allow the connection. Click Next. The Profile window appears.

10. Keep all profile check boxes selected (default). Click Next. The Name window appears.
11. Specify BCPro (TCP Protocol) as the name. Optionally, you can add a description to identify this new rule.
Click Finish.
The Inbound Rules table refreshes to indicate the new rule called BCPro (TCP Protocol). Ports 80, 88, 135,
389, 443, 445, 1025, and 1433 are now open and ready for use.
12. Repeat Step 5 through Step 11 to add a new BCPRo inbound rule for the UDP protocol. When the Protocol and
Ports window appears (Figure 11), select UDP, and in the Specific Local Ports field, enter the port numbers as
shown in Figure 11 (25, 53, 67, 68, 69, 88, 161, 162, 9910, 9911, 47808) and listed in Table 4.

13. Complete the steps to add the new inbound rule. Name the new rule BCPro (UDP Protocol).
When finished, the Windows Firewall with Advanced Security window appears and the Inbound Rules table
refreshes to indicate the new rule called BCPro (UDP Protocol). Ports 25, 67, 68, 69, 53, 88, 123, 161, 162,
9910, 9911, and 47808 are now open and ready for use.
14. In the Windows Firewall with Advanced Security window, verify that the two new BCPro inbound rules are
defined and enabled.

Enabling ASP.NET

Checking for and Installing Windows Software DST Update for Windows 8.1
1. In Control Panel, click Programs > Programs and Features, then select View Installed Updates in the left
pane of the window.
2. Click the Name column to sort the list alphabetically and type KB3112148 in the search box.

3. In the list of currently installed programs and updates, look for the following update:

4. In the left pane, click Inbound Rules. The Inbound Rules pane appears.

5. In the Actions pane, select New Rule. The New Inbound Rule Wizard opens and the Rule Type window appears.
6. Click Port and click Next. The Protocol and Ports window appears.

7. Click TCP, and in the Specific Local Ports field, enter the port numbers (80,88,123,135,389,443,445,1025,1433)
as shown in Figure 19 and specified in Table 5.
9. Click Allow the connection. Click Next. The Profile window appears.
10. Keep all profile selections selected (default). Click Next. The Name window appears.

11. Specify BCPro (TCP Protocol) as the name and add an optional description to identify this new rule. Click
Finish.
The Inbound Rules table refreshes to indicate the new rule called BCPro TCP Protocol). Ports 80, 88, 123, 135,
389, 443, 445, 1025, and 1433 are now open and ready for use.
13. Complete the steps to add the new inbound rule. Name the new rule BCPro (UDP Protocol).
When finished, the Windows Firewall with Advanced Security window appears with the Inbound Rules table
refreshed to indicate the new rule called BCPro (UDP Protocol). Ports 25, 67, 68, 53, 88, 161, 162, 9911, and
47808 are now open and ready for use.
14. In the Windows Firewall with Advanced Security window, verify that the two new BCPro inbound rules are
defined and enabled.

12. Repeat Step 5 through Step 11 to add a new BCPro inbound rule for the UDP protocol. When the Protocol and
Ports window appears, click UDP, and in the Specific Local Ports field, enter the port numbers
(25,67,68,53,161,162,9911,47808) shown in Figure 35 and listed in Table 8.

13. Complete the steps to add the new inbound rule. Name the new rule BCPro (UDP Protocol).
When finished, the Windows Firewall with Advanced Security window appears with the Inbound Rules table
refreshed to indicate the new rule called BCPro (UDP Protocol). Ports 25, 67, 68, 53, 88, 161, 162, 9911, and
47808 are now open and ready for use.
14. In the Windows Firewall with Advanced Security window, verify that the two new BCPro inbound rules are
defined and enabled.
2. Click Install.

3. If SQL Server is not installed, then the following screen appears. The server name is (local) and by default
database is connected through Windows Authentication mode. You can switch to Server Authentication mode
by selecting the Server authentication credentials radio button. The Username and Password fields
automatically populate with default SQL server credentials.
4. Click Install to start the installation of packages.

7. After all the packages install, a dialog box appears asking to allow changes to your computer. Click Yes.
8. Click Restart Now. BCPro appears in the Programs > Programs and Features section of the Control Panel
and the BCPro Icon appears on your computer desktop.
4. Click Yes to delete BCPro UI database in addition to clicking Uninstall BCPro UI. Click No to uninstall BCPro
UI without deleting BCPro UI database. The BCPro UI and associated applications uninstall.

5. Click Finish.

After you install the Launcher to your local hard drive, the Main Screen of the Launcher appears from which you
can configure the network credentials of the BCPro Workstation computer.

Using the Launcher, configure the network credentials of the BCPro Workstation computer to add its profile to
the Launcher. For details, refer to the Launcher Help (LIT-12011742).
After you add the BCPro Workstation, select it from the profile list under the SMP tab and click Launch. The
BCPro Workstation UI login screen appears. Log in with the BCProSysAgent user and default password. (To
Specify a valid user ID and password. Select a language and click Login.
Note: The default User Name is Admin. The default password is Admin.
If you want the UI screen to remember your Password the next time you log in, click Remember Me.
Note: We recommend that you disable popup blocking on your browser, especially if you are using Google®
Chrome®.

Click Next.

Note: Do not select Managed client. If your network is
managed by a Symantec server, selecting the
Managed Client option changes the custom
settings and could prevent the BCPro user
interface from working correctly.

Download Protection, Outlook Scanner, Notes Scanner,
POP3/SMTP Scanner, Proactive Threat Protection, and
Network Threat Protection. To disable, click the down
arrow and select Entire feature will be unavailable.

Installation Options. Click Install.

the Windows task bar. The Status screen appears.

Threat Protection Not Installed Threat Protection features are not installed. If they do not
appear on the Status screen, they are not installed. Go
to Step 27.

software are complete.
Important: Use only McAfee VirusScan Enterprise software version 8.8 with Patch 3 or Patch 5 on your Windows
10, Windows 8.1, Windows 7, Windows Server® 2012 R2, Windows Server 2012, or Windows Server
2008 R2 computer. McAfee VirusScan Enterprise software version with Patch 4 causes BCPro software
operational issues.
We recommend installing McAfee VirusScan Enterprise software using the steps in the following table. If you deviate
from these steps, BCPro software may not work correctly. If you must enable higher security settings from what is
recommended, gradually add changes and check for system reliability as you do so.

1. Start Start the McAfee VirusScan Enterprise software
installation. The McAfee VirusScan Enterprise Setup
screen appears.

category settings at their defaults.

Scanner Properties. The On-Access Scanner Properties
window appears.
Click the All Processes icon, then select Configure
different scanning policies for high-risk, low-risk, and
default processes. The left pane refreshes to show
additional icons.
Click Low-Risk Processes. Click Add and add
Sqlservr.exe and Sqlwriter.exe to the list of low-risk
processes. (If the files do not appear in the list box, click
Browse and locate them under the Microsoft SQL Server
folder.) Click OK to save the changes.
Close the VirusScan Console.
12. Done. The steps for installing the McAfee VirusScan Enterprise
software are complete.
BCPro Troubleshooting
