-install latest airos/ubnt firmware first

-reset to defaults
-flash to DD-WRT as mentioned in the dl folder for your device

Requirements:
* Direct ethernet cable connection between PC and LiteStation
* Network settings of PC: 192.168.1.254/255.255.255.0
* TFTP client on PC
* LiteStation firmware file (e.g. LS2.v1.5.bin for LiteStation2)
Recovery procedure
1. First of all, power off the device.
2. Power it on and keep on holding reset button for ~10 seconds (do not hold
it longer!)
3. If your device has been already upgraded to v1.5 before, RDY LED should be
lit, indicating that device is ready for recovery
4. Make sure LiteStation responds to pinging (ping 192.168.1.20), if it does
not, go to step 1
5. rename firmware file into flash_update (not necessary since v1.5 firmware!
)
6. using TFTP client software, upload flash_update to 192.168.1.20 in binary
mode
7. Signal LEDs will be blinking during firmware upgrade (since v1.5 firmware!
)
8. wait for about 7 minutes on LiteStation2 (to be safe) - do not power off t
he device during procedure! LiteStation5 upgrade takes less time.
9. device should be alive by now

Flashing
The easiest, most reliable method to flash to 3rd party firmware is to use ASUS
Firmware Restoration tool that comes on the CD bundled with the product. There i
s no firmware size limit requiring you to flash dd-wrt mini first; you can go ah
ead and flash dd-wrt v24 SP1 mega right from the start.
When flashing from 3rd party firmware to other 3rd party firmware, just use the
firmware upgrade utility in the web GUI. This applies to 3rd party firmwares tha
t include a web GUI, as not all of them do so.
The ASUS Firmware Restoration Utility comes with the CD-ROM included with the de
vice and by default installs to

To flash using the "recovery" method, do the following...
1) Unplug the router
2) Press and hold the restore switch and plug in power.
3) Keep holding the restore switch until the power light starts to blink on and
off.
3a) The router is now in recovery mode
4) Change the ip settings on your computer to:
4a) IP: 192.168.1.xxx(use anything above 1, I like 100)
4b) Subnet: 255.255.255.0
4c) Gateway: 192.168.1.1
5) Run the recovery program and point it to your .bin file of choice
6) Hit the "upload" button and wait about 2 minutes.
7) Change your IP settings back to DHCP and let it get an address
8) Open a web browset and go to http://192.168.1.1 and have fun!
