COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course provides law students a unique opportunity to enrich their


legal education while contributing to the education of high school
students. Using the education while contributing to the education of
high school students. Using the clinical method, an underlying
principle of the clinic program is the best way to learn through
teaching. The broad goals of the clinical program are: to develop in
law students an appreciation for the multi-faceted role and
responsibilities of the students an appreciation for the multi-faceted
role and responsibilities of the lawyer in the community; to sensitize
students to sources and resolutions of the community legal problems.
The clinical program works to achieve these goals through a program
of seminar training and supervision.

Topic: Plagiarism

Description: This teaching course deals with instilling basic knowledge of Plagiarism and knowing the ways in preventing its violation. Applicable
laws are also discussed to help explain that copying without acknowledgement is violation and is punishable in the Philippines.

Audience: Camanjac High school, Dumaguete City

Time Allotment: 1 hour

Objectives

By the end of the teaching session, the students are able to:
1. Give the definitions and importance of intellectual property in everyday living.
2. Explain the meaning of some of the concepts and basic understanding about Plagiarism.
3. Compare and contrast the different forms of Plagiarism.
4. Explain the relationship of the Copyright laws in the Philippines and its violations.
5. Appreciate the concept of Intellectual Property and Copyright guidelines and ways to prevent its violations.
