II. Description & Nature of the Advocacy


The advocacy project is from the initiative of Grade 12 students, section Newton from
Muntinlupa Science High School. The advocacy project aims to develop the good future for
street children through providing them with food, knowledge and values. The aim of this project
is to give a lasting effect to the lives of street children. The advocacy project also aspires to
influence the lives of these children in order to give them hope and justify their experience of
being a child. Because for the advocates, being a child is a once in a lifetime experience. The
advocates want to share what they have for the once who couldn’t have it.

III. Strategies & Program/ Activities


A. Program
Hapag-aralan
B. Description
Every month, the group of Muntinlupa Science High School students will conduct
a 7:00 a.m-1:00 p.m. program that includes workshops, feeding activity and application
experiments. Based from the name “Hapag-aralan”, it is a fusion of Hapag-kainan
(dining area) and Silid-aralan (classroom). The purpose of this program is not only to
feed the street children around Muntinlupa City with food but also with knowledge and
values that they could use for the betterment of their future. The program aims to give the
children hope and to help them develop themselves in a short period of time. The
program wants to influence the street children by catering fun activities. In this way the
street children will learn, enjoy and eat with just one program.

Description/ Nature of the Activities
Workshops – These workshops feature activities that will help the children
learn how to read, count, and write.
Storytellings – Telling short stories, parables, and fables will be done to
deliberate moral lessons to children, making them to be more cooperative and the
program to be more engaging. Through this activity children will be taught good
manners, conduct, values, and religion.
Film viewing – This segment of the program is an extension of teaching
the children good manners, conduct, values, and religion through the showing of
various educational films.
Human Rights Orientation – This segment teaches the children how they
should be treated by adults or other people. This way, they will know whether
they are being abused or being maltreated, so they know if they have to defend
themselves.
