Type of organization

For this assignment I have selected a non-profir organization for tracing the communication
issues. Here it is a charity organization which is named “Organization for underprivileged
women, children and disabled persons”. This organization mainly works for the betterment of
those people. In our society there are some women who are deprived of their fundamental rights.
It else there are also some children who also face the same problem. Besides this the disabled
people of the society are considered as the burden. Thus they are ignored all the time. For all
these reasons this charity organization has been founded by some rich people of the society and
with the cooperation of government & other welfare trust.

Objectives of the organization

Objectives advert to the logic that why the organization has been launched. Each and every
organization has some objectives. The objectives of this charitable organization are-

 To ensure the privileges of the underprivileged women, children and disabled persons of
the society.
 To find out different sorts of problems of those people.
 To help to solve those problems.
 To create awareness among them regarding their rights.
 To ensure a better society for those people.

Activities of the organization

This charity organization works different types of task. This are-

1. Primary research: The organization at first will do some survey in all the areas where
the problem may occur. In search of those problems the organization will try to find out
the victimized people.
2. Determination of needed remedies: After finding out the victimized people and their
associated problems the organization will determine the needed remedies that will solve
their problem. These should be very concise and specific.
 3. Approaching fund collection: Then the organization will then collect funds from
different sources. These may be like some benevolent rich people of the society,
government welfare trust, CSR activities of much organization etc.
4. Arrangement of learning & development program: Then the organization will arrange
some programs which is consists of training, vocational education, counseling and
motivation.
5. Evaluation: Last of all the organization evaluate all the performed activities for those
people. The evaluation criteria comprises of performed activities, comparisons with the
benchmark, contribution to the betterment of their standard of living etc.

These communication strategies are maintained accurately in the organization. Thus this
organization becomes able to raise its helping hands for those underprivileged people.

Identified Community Engagement Issue: For this task the organization has founded a
community engagement issue. This can be called as the “Deprivation of the communities”.
This deprivation includes the deprivation of women, children and the disabled persons.

Deprivation of Women: Deprivation of women includes-

 Deprivation from the fundamental education.

 Deprivation of primary health services.
 Deprivation of some basic rights.
 Deprivation from proper Maternity Facilities.
 Deprivation from equal justification.
 Deprivation from positive attitude from the society.
 Deprivation from required support from the family.

Deprivation of Children:

 Deprivation of fundamental education.

 Deprivation of basic health services.
 Deprivation of nutrition.
  Deprivation of proper care.
 Deprivation of convenient working environment.

Deprivation of Disabled Persons:

 Deprivation of fundamental rights.

 Deprivation of employment opportunity.
 Deprivation of social support.
 Deprivation of government allowances.
 Deprivation of equal rights in all sectors.

Role of Communication Strategy to address the community engagement issue for achieving
organizational goals:

In the above mentioned strategies I have showed five communication strategies. Among those
strategies I have selected the mass communication strategy for addressing the community
engagement issue “Deprivation of the communities”. Because if survey or direct durvey or
online communication is used then the organization will get the result from the view point of
deprived people. Others public will be unaware about the situation. The roles of the strategy have
been described here-

 Raising awareness: If I select the strategy then I can communicate with those deprived
people. Because this strategy consists of newspaper, television, radio, magazine etc. The
organization can interact with those people via these medium. As a result those deprived
people can be aware of their fundamental rights. They will know what they deserve from
the society for better living style in the society.
 Addressing the situation to the government: Through these medium the organization
can address the actual situation under watchdog of the government. Thus the government
will become aware about the situation that a section of the society is deprived of their
fundamental rights. So the government can think about the solution of it.
 Addressing to other welfare organization: Mass communication is a strong media. So
if the organization uses it then other welfare organization can be aware about the
situation. As a result they can come forward to help the organization.
  Addressing to the Public: Mass communication is such kind of communication through
which people from all the areas can know about it. As a result through out the country the
situation will be focused.
 Collecting financial help from different sources: After revealing the situation the
organization then can collect funds from different sources of the society. It will give a
snapshot of the situation to those parties. And thus those parties will agree to provide the
financial help to the organization.
 Collecting plan for working: Through the mass media the organization will contact with
some intellectuals. Then after revealing the situation to them the organization can collect
a proper working plan from them.
 Bringing them under the facilities: If the mass media communication strategy can be
properly applied then all the related parties will be aware about the situation. Then they
will come forward to do something for those deprived people. They will raise their
helping hand. Thus this charitable organization will utilize those funding according to the
plan for the betterment of those deprives people. As a result they will come under the
facilities.

Secondary research of the context of the issue:

After addressing the community issues the organization will do a thorough secondary research
for those people. This research comprises of research about the organization, direct contact with
the people who are working with the organization, members of the community with whom they
seek to engage. This will help a lot to be clear about the whole situation.

Building a working team: If the organization can make thorough research of the context of the
issue then an effective working team will be build. This team will work dedicatedly for the
organization. The team will try to know the actual situation of the context of the issue. Thus the
problematic areas will be cleared out for the organization.

Determination of the organization’s capacity for giving facilities: Secondary research will
help a lot to determine the organization’s capacity. This capacity includes the types of facilities,
distribution of facilities. Thus thorough secondary research refers to the strong determination of
organization’s capacity which gives an idea that in what way the organization can provide the
facilities to those victimized people.

Setting the required facilities: Another vital significance of the secondary research is that the
required facilities that are needed for the task can be easily set. As a result the organization can
be clear about its requirement about the facilities. Then it can easily take necessary actions for
the completion of the task.

Determination of the portion to serve: Thorough secondary research will determine the section
where the organization will serve. This determination will cover all the problemetic areas of
victims. Thus segments of deprived people will be determined accurately. Henceforth the
organization can easily serve those victimized people. If the process get a speedy phase then the
program will be succeded easily.

Listing the unlisted underprivileged persons of first research: In the tasks I have said before
that the organization will make a primary research for finding out the deprived people. But
mistakes may occur anytime during the research because of human error or anything else. So in
the second phase of the research those deprived persons will be included who were excluded in
the previous research due to error. Thus the secondary research will give a more accurate data for
the organization to achieve the organizational goal.

Improvement of the current working plan: The secondary research will be conducted for
many purposes. If this program can be implemented in a fullfledged form then the current
working plan will be improved a lot. For example more deprived people will be included for the
secondary research. As a result the population of the study will increase. It will give more
accurate result about the task. Direct contact with the people who are working in the organization
will be strengthen. Nevertheless the communication with the members of the community will
become more robust. In this ways the total working plan will improve a lot. And it will give a
better result.

Finding out additional thing for the current working plan: In the above mentioned point I
have told that how the current working will improve a lot. This improvement will be possible if
and only if the secondary research is made very carefully. It has to be done in such a way so that
everything is covered under the working plan. Sometimes some point may be excluded
mistakenly in the first research. So for the thorough secondary research additional thing are also
found out for the current working plan. As a result the organization can implement their desired
plan in a full-fledged format.

Finding out existence of additional deprivation of underprivileged people: In the primary

research the organization has searched all kinds of deprivation scrutinizely. But it is very normal
something may be excluded from the research. So the secondary research is made thoroughly. As
a result the organiaztion will be able to find out the additional deprivation of the underprivileged
people. This additional deprivation of those deprived people tells more detail about the current
situation. The government, welfare trust of the society, rich people of the society etc all can get
clearer idea about the deprivaion of those deprived people. So more funding will be allocated for
those people. And so the underprivileges people will get their privileges accurately.

Finding out the lacking for achieving the organization’s aims: From the above mentioned
discussion it is clear that secondary research is very fruitful. It not only improve the overall
working plan but also finds the lackings of the plan. These lackings may hinders the achievement
of the organization’s goal. If those lacking can be found out properly then it becomes very easy
to take corrective action as soon as possible. Whenever the corrective actions are taken then the
total plan will be succeded and the organization can achieve its organizational goals.

Rational of the issue: We know there is always some irrationality in our society. From the very
beginning of the civilization these irrationality and injustice or inequalities are very common in
our living society. Even in our modern society these things are our daily concern. So work on
this issue would be quite rational to any social organization. Some other rationality of the issue
are-

 The study of this issue will lead us to overall standard living society.
 The engaged community are being a burden to the society. So the problem of those must
be solved on the priority basis.
 There is huge number of this type community around the world. Day by day they are
increasing so their problem should be addressed urgently.
 As a human being we some responsibility to other human who are deprived.
  Working with the issue gives awareness to the victimized people, to the authority and to
the general people about their rights.
 The study of the issue helps to make those people productive.
 This issue might turn those underprivileged people to asset of the society , to the country,
to the word.
