Room 111 News!
Jolly Phonics:
This week we learned the sound H!
The children listened to a story and
sang the H sound song. The
children also played “what’s in the
H box?” (motion: cover your mouth)
Second Step:
This week we
talked about
accidents. We learned that
accidents happen and it’s ok.
A good thing to do after an
accident happens is say I’m
sorry and ask if the other
person is OK.
Bridges:
This week we finished our shapes unit.
We reviewed the shapes and looked
around our room to see what shapes we
could find. Our next unit will be Snow!
We will continue counting, patterning,
sorting, and learning the parts of the
calendar.
Speech Update:
In speech this week the children read the book
“Shapes That Roll” While reading the story, the
children practiced labeling and identifying objects in
pictures, increasing utterance length, answering and
asking “wh” questions, sequencing, and making
predictions.
The children also explored items that sink and
float with water.. They practiced sound production,
turn-taking, answering “wh” questions, increasing
utterance length, making requests and comments to
peers, increasing grammatically correct sentences, and
following directions.
Other Info:
*Pajama Day is coming! Please come to
school dressed in your pajamas. You can
also bring one stuffed animal of your
choice to share with the class.
*We go outside every day as long as it is
above 15 degrees with the windchill. The
children need all necessary supplies to
stay warm while they improve their gross
motor play. Please make sure they have
what they need and that their name is in
all their belongings.
