I. Objectives

Through varied learning activities, the Grade 11 students with 80% accuracy are
expected to:
a. explain the nature of different belief systems in the World;
b. show appreciation on some religious practices or teachings of the different belief
systems in the World though a portrayal; and
c. make a creative presentation on the different religious beliefs in the World.

II. Subject Matter

Topic: Variety of Belief Systems in the World

III. Learning Procedure

A. Motivation
The teacher will show a picture of a church.
Guide Questions:
 What comes into your mind when you see this building? Church
 Why do people make a sign of the cross when they pass by the church? It is a
sacred place for Roman Catholics.
 Why the church is sacred? It is sacred because it is a House of God.
 Do you know God? He is a Define Spirit.
 Who is He? He is the Alpha and the Omega in different names
 What system of beliefs that made us recognized Him? Religion
 What is your personal view about religion? Answer may vary
 Do we have only one religion? No
 Then, what are some religions do you know about? Answer vary

B. Presentation
The teacher will present the Comparative Matrix about basic information on the world’s
belief systems.

The teacher will give varied questions to the students in interpreting the Comparative
Matrix.

Guide Questions:
 What does the comparative matrix show?
 How many religions are monotheistic? How about polytheistic?
 What do you mean by:
a. monotheistic?
b. polytheistic
 What are common in these religions?
 What differentiates these religions?

The teacher will give further inputs about the Worlds Belief Systems based on the
Comparative Matrix presented.

C. Application
The teacher will group the class into 10 with 3 to 4 members only through counting off.
Each group will be given hand-outs on the practices and teachings of the different belief systems
in the World wherein they will select the most unique practices of the religion that is being
assigned to them. The criteria of the creative presentation are as follows: Depiction (10),
Teamwork (10) and Creativity (10) which total of 30 points.

Instructions:
 In your group, select the most unique practices of the religion assigned to you after
reading the hand-outs provided. Be able to come up a creative presentation that would
last for 1 to 3 minutes. (Refer the handouts given in the matrix). You are given 5 to 10
minutes to prepare your creative presentation. The criteria of the creative presentation
are as follows:
Depiction - 10
Teamwork -10
Creativity - 10

D. Generalization
After the presentation, the teacher will ask each group to recite 5 sentence insights
from the activity performed.
